Ben Jacobs: “It wouldn’t surprise me in January, particularly with goalscorers, if Chelsea go a little bit against their strategy in the last two windows, and they try and bring in somebody that’s a bit more proven in terms of age, in terms of goals and in terms of Premier League experience, which is another thing that Pochettino puts a high value on, and obviously, Toney does tick all three of those boxes.”

Gallagher: "The manager has a really good way of playing, and he lets the midfield be fluid and rotate. He plays to our advantages which helps me. Pochettino: "We should win every game because we are Chelsea? Yes, but we are not the Chelsea that won the Champions League or the Premier League.

"We are Chelsea in progress, [working] to improve, to find our way to behave and to perform altogether, many things like this. But I accept competition is not waiting for anyone."

Pochettino: "It helps to take things in a different way. Of course, experience is a really important point in football, in how you are going to deal with things.

It would be arrogant to say that because I was there [at PSG], now I can manage everything. The demands always are completely different."

Dean Jones: "Yeah people always look at the top level signings and the numbers around those as the players that are going to define how good the squad is. But what we sometimes miss is the mid-range signings that are made to actually build out a squad. They actually sometimes end up becoming players that you can rely on and merge into stars. Ugochukwu is one of those players that can actually become that. Imagine him alongside Caicedo, that's what I'm looking forward to seeing."
