OkpaNsukkaisBae:Haaland is an output machine you can put him in any team and he will deliver his output may not be the same as in attacking team but he will deliver. As for Simeone he has done well and earn his flowers cup games are not indicative of a coach prowess how he does in the league is a better parameter to judge him and he wrestling the league from Madrid and Barca that have abundant resources and pull couple with his cup wins deserves credit. You may argue that he is overpaid but he puts himself in that position to earn that given the circumstances |
Pochettino: "Before we arrived here we did everything to try and have a clear idea of why there were too many injuries last season also, to analyse the risk. It's (about) the profile of the player, the risk of the player. It's not the people working in the medical staff of performance area. Then there's bad luck. We have injures that maybe happen in one season or maybe in two, but have happened (to Chelsea) because of different situations you cannot control. Christopher against Dortmund, it was a tackle and he twists his knee. Three or four months out. That is from the beginning of the game, he wasn't tired, he was fresh, good, strong." |
Joe Cole on Cole Palmer: “He’s the Jack Grealish, James Maddison type. He’s got lovely balance, and a lovely left foot. I’ve watched him mainly playing off the right, coming in on his left foot. But he could play as a 10. He can float anywhere in the final third, but he’s just a player that makes an impact. It’s a high-pressure environment (at Chelsea) and I’m sure Cole Palmer will fit in there fine.” |
Zaniolo: “Chelsea are a great team. They have very good players. Sometimes things are good, sometimes things are not good, but what’s important is to always stay focused. I don’t know if we win, if we lose or if we draw in the match but we are all focused.” |
Graeme Souness: "Not all of Arsenal’s spending makes sense to me. They’ve laid out £65million on Kai Havertz. Surely you’re not spending that kind of money on what he’s shown at Chelsea in the past three seasons? They’ve shelled out in the hope that Mikel Arteta can get a very, very different tune out of him than Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel or Graham Potter ever did. Good luck with that one, Mikel." |
Diego Godin on Joao Felix: "In my time we tried to set a path, we made it clear that the group is above any individuality. And from the outside it seemed to me that in his case it was not like that, that he was thinking more about himself than about the team." |
Saul Niguez on Joao Felix: "He is a great player. Then ... You have to want, you have to adapt, you have to try to do many things that maybe if your head was not at the best time, because he could not do it here. I wish him all the best, that everything goes very well in Barça. He has started very strong, I think he could have done things better too, he has not done it here, and I think that in the club and in the team it has taken its toll." |

Patience is already wearing thin among Chelsea supporters, whose frustration is not aimed at Mauricio Pochettino and more at how the club is being run. - @NizaarKinsella |
airmark:Sarri is clear by far Pochettino is a tier-below Simeone tactically, Simeone despite the negative criticism leveled against has something to show for it in Europe. |
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a brace as Marseille drew 3-3 at Ajax. He has four goals in Europe this season and has now scored more in eight games for OM than in 21 appearances for Chelsea (three goals) last season. Ben Jacobs |
People will argue Chelsea won the Champions League and the Club World Cup in 2021 and apportion blame on the new owners for making too many changes too soon. But, as the table below illustrates, the decline had set in before Boehly-Clearlake arrived. ~ @SJohnsonSport

Simon Jordan: “The only thing that will change Todd Boehly’s ‘legacy’ — his current achievements — will be his team winning, [not building a new stadium]. End of discussion.” {talkSPORT} |
Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea lost only once at Stamford Bridge in 2018-19 season. Wow! |
Chelsea have won just one of their last nine home games in England’s top division. After Aston Villa on Sunday, their next five home games are against teams who prevailed at Stamford Bridge last season: Arsenal, Brentford, Man City and Brighton. ~ @SJohnsonSport |

Paul Merson: “Chelsea have been nowhere close to their best this season and are coming on the back of another disappointing draw against Bournemouth. Still, from box to box, they actually carved the Cherries open and played well between the lines. Their performance wasn’t as bad as everyone made it out to be – they looked good on the night but just didn’t manage to put the ball into the back of the net. Chelsea have enough pace up front and could hurt Villa’s high line, but I think this game will end all square. Prediction: Chelsea 1-1 Aston Villa.” |

Purchasing that land would give them a bigger footprint to work with should they choose to rebuild or redevelop on the existing site. Seeing off competition from 13 other bidders, Chelsea agreed a deal in principle with veterans’ charity Stoll to buy the land next to Stamford Bridge and the consultation period with residents ends today. Stoll will review the feedback before their board make a final decision this autumn on whether to proceed with the sale to Chelsea. {Dailymail} |
Fabrizio Romano details why Chelsea didn't sign Joao Felix: "The feeling at Chelsea from June to August was that for Atlético it was impossible to accept a loan deal. It was a permanent transfer or nothing and Atlético knew Chelsea decided against spending €70m to €80m. It was a no for Chelsea from the financial point of view. And also from a technical point of view, Pochettino was not convinced about this solution and believed that Nkunku was perfect for Chelsea in that kind of creative position. So, they (Pochettino and the club) decided together to go on a different way." |
Chelsea have joined Brighton and Liverpool hitting the woodwork 4 times this season. The highest in the Premier League. |
Clearlake's co-founder Jose Feliciano: "I think what we are trying to do is reduce the salary [at Chelsea] and essentially the opex [operating expenses] of the business by over $100m (£80.6m) per year." |
