PoliticsRe: Cash Transfer: We’re Scrutinising National Social Register – Senate by AmTruth: 9:54am On May 05, 2020
You were voted to carry out over sight function and we look forward to you doing that. Even as I am personally surprised why the national assembly failed to carry out the function on SIP despite being in existence since 2016.

After passing the budget as related to the SIP, what were they doing since?

Social register and conditional transfer is functioning and if need be to fine tune it nothing is wrong in review worldwide.

PoliticsRising Fake News And Lack Of Investigative Journalism by AmTruth(op): 9:38am On May 05, 2020
There is a rising danger gradually finding it ways into our society because of rising fake news and lack of investigative journalism.

There have been so much counter claims of so many news publish by the print and online media that have been debunked.

It has become worrisome to the extent that the media are competing in who is the first to publish fake news. Of recent Sun newspapers rushed to publish a fake news about the death of former house of rep speaker,Ghalli Na Abba but later brought it down. Simple because they never carry out investigation and quick to publish. This has happened with so many others media too.

There's no investigative journalism again, All what they do is copy and paste and catching up on the masses emotional disposition of things. This days most people tend to believe fake news because it suits there Emotions. That something suite your emotions and sentiment doesn't make it true.

To some people any media that takes it time to do investigation before publishing her information are termed supporters of either government or they have been bought over as the news doesn't satisfy the fake news mongers emotions and desire.

No wonder the likes of Nnamdi Kanu of IPOB and Kemi could easily toast some people around as they wish in also carrying out conspiracy speculative news which is very close to fake news.

Let's learn to hear from both parties involved in any news before making our conclusions, because fake news is gradually becoming a danger to our society.

God bless Nigeria!!!

We in Cross River State really thank God for helping us at this time not to record any incidence even as the number keeps soaring in other state.

Gov Ayade, we appreciate you so much for being proactive. In the early days of the virus, you immediately ordered lockdown, use of face/nose mask and closure of borders and public use of sanitizer/washing of hands. You got this right from the onset and the result is paying off.

We are grateful indeed that we are only hearing it from afar but not seeing it in our dear state.

I wish infected persons speedy recovery, RIP to the dead and condolences to their families.

It is a difficult choice between livelihood and ones life, but we must choose life, it is not an easy choice but remember job may be lost as our economy will stumble or even collapse but it will recover and the job lost will be recovered, but not the life lost. Pls stay safe, not just for you, but for your aging mother, father, uncles and all. We do not yet have the healthcare facility in place to address a partial blow-up and the more the number, the more likely for it all to crumble.

Sometimes people don't understand what they are trying to claim.

Don't be surprised that if Lagos State or FCT especially, reveal the state of origin of some of the infected persons, you would be shocked by the region who would have the highest number in terms of state of origin of the infected patient.
Add the numbers now to what their present state of birth are having, then you will understand it's not about the region but Nigerians who are infected.

If you see number of infected person based on their State of origin and not base on place of residence, most of you would be shocked and stop tribalizing this pandemic ravaging all of us.

So let us not start bringing Tribal sentiment to this as some have already started.

I'm from the South South where atleast one state is not yet infected presently, but I see this fight as a collective effort for all Nigerians.

After all this, the money will certainly be returned to Nigeria because it's not US money. After all the Swiss government have been returning abacha loot to the present administration.

After all President Donald Trump would still call President Buhari to render his support for his government which he also did of recent.
Even the president of the United States use to get resistance from the house of rep over there.

Just few members opposing, I even thought is the whole house.

President Donald Trump I know would never call President Buhari if all this alleged abuses are highly promoted by our president.

Let them give us our money abeg.

Enough of the embittered enmity so far created by Nnamdi Kanu between the ibos and other tribes in Nigeria.

Most times he does all this Care just for mockery sake, scoffing and Ridiculing. If he's truly doing this with good intentions atleast Nigerians can consider, but All what is doing as care are for evil intention and desire.

God would keep the VP as he has kept the President even to amazement of IPOB who desire his death.

But God is not man.

God bless the VP.

But helping an infected person is near impossible. What help can I render to one who is gasping for air with a ventilator if situation become worse?
And that's why I said it is easier handling a hungry family than a sick family.

PoliticsRe: COVID-19 Lock Down: It's Easier to Handle A Hungry Family Than A Sick Family by AmTruth(op): 1:42pm On May 02, 2020
AmTruth:
Some Nigerians across states of the Federation are coming hard on their government on reason that they must not shut down the state because their priority now is about food and economy which is understandable but not really about the spread of corona virus in allowing their State border within or without open.

The initial case was why did the federal government failed to close the border(Lock Down) both air and land? That everywhere must be closed.
All nations across the world had initial challenge in closing their boarder hence all were attacked by the Corona virus which Nigeria is not an exception to such move.

Those who were agitating that boarder must be closed(Lock Down) and blame the Federal government can now calmly understand by the reason of still them, now telling their State government that the State must not be locked down.

The Question now is this, You told the Federal government that they must Lock Down to prevent the spread or disease and now you are telling the State government not to Lock Down because you don't Care about the spread of the virus.

Reasons you are resisting the Lock Down from State government are majorly partly reasons the federal government also delayed international lock down.

Some would ask,had it been the federal government lock down early enough the virus would not have come in? But we know certainly cry that would ravage the media had it been the Short down was done early enough.

Questions like why shutdown in depriving investors coming in and causing hardship to business activities, in short some would even tribalize it by saying it's because most of our people want to come home that's why they are shutting down. Do they want people to die there. Is it not better to die at home? Ah they are depriving people to come to their father Land. In short this is Wickedness and so on and so forth.

The Truth is that the Virus is here with us today.
We have to accept the lock down within our state if truly our priority is to mitigate the spread as our concerns before when the federal government delay lock down of our international border.
We know it's not easy, so we should not change our priority from the spread of the sickness to the present concern now of the economic or food.

I tell you the truth, it would be worse, handling both the crisis of Food and Sickness. Inasmuch as it's not easy I admonish us to bear this little while.

Because it is easier handling a hungry family than to handle a sick family.
PoliticsRe: COVID-19 Lock Down: It's Easier to Handle A Hungry Family Than A Sick Family by AmTruth(op): 9:54am On May 02, 2020
Anyone that steal,Rob and commit violence as a result of hunger is simply a criminal. If hunger easily cause the above, then you would find arm robbers in most homes in Nigeria.

Crime committing is about lack of moral values not hunger.

It's easier to die when infected with the virus than hunger.

Stay safe.

God bless Nigeria!!!
babyfaceafrica:
OP are u sure you know what you are saying?.. A hungry family is easy to handle?.. I laugh you... You don't know what hunger is and what hunger can make one do?..sickness leads to death.. Hunger leads to stealing, violence, robbery, sickness and eventually death... So which is worse?

People with underlying health issue died as far as the fact been presented is as a result of the Virus.

So the fact is that people should believe that the virus is real then they can take precautionary measure as advised by health expert.

But when you say it is not for Africa, makes people ignore advise and still get infected.

Nigerians please the virus is real, stay safe.

And those dying have severe underlying health conditions that could have still led to death.

The kind of denial and ignorance I see here is the reason why this virus wont be leaving Nigeria anytime soon. I dont understand how people will assume a country as populous with ghettos, shanties, and the danfo drivers, ferries and micras cramming people in will escape a virus like this and record low numbers. The only reason we are seeing high numbers now is because the virus has finally made it into the communities and is currently being easily transmitted and testing capacity has increased. Fact: this virus has successfully being transmitted within communities in naija. It is not going anywhere. At this rate, even pastors and imams are not safe. No one is. Social distancing cannot be over emphasized enough. Those with compromised immunity systems due to underlying conditions or the elderly should please not go out. Make alternative arrangements asap. The rest of us should wear masks , practice social distancing , wash your hands or apply sanitizers, avoid touching face with bare hands, wipe down groceries and bare surfaces before touching and limit going out and fraternizing. Stay safe for your own good. Where I live is close to a hospital and one of the most haunting scenes is seeing bodies loaded into refrigerated trucks due to morgues being overwhelmed. It is in Nigeria and our healthcare system will not save you
Own your own safety and take care of your shit and spread the word not fear. Thank you
