Birichie: So because child prostitution is rampant,we should now allow child bride?those involve in child prostitution are not forced into it,why forcing a girl into a lifetime commitment in the 21st century?
Carry on with your child prostiitution while Akintola carries on with his child marriage. It's a free world.

s3nn2x: Congrats to him. But on a serious note, I don't think he was even relevant in this administration. I still wonder why we have Ministers of State in Nigeria, they are just rubber stamp. I believe he made a very good move, at least I know of Onyebuchi Chukwu, bu the only time I remember hearing this guy's name was was during Ministerial nomination and screening.
Sorry you are obviously not interested in Nigeria health matters . Pâté had been very central even before he became a minister of state.

The treatment given to Al-mustapha over the last 15 years is the worst case of injustice in Nigeria's history of governance. Even Ojukwu who waged war on the fatherland was not treated so harshly and he died a free man.

Prof Soyinka is right in his observation of tPatience's despotic escapade. Funny enough this is one of the times that Patience Jonathan is also right in her response to the "meddlesome" Laureate.

What has Buhari achieved that Ribadu/Elrufai has not surpassed even as mere cabinet member !!!

This is about Nigeria; we need Young,Fresh,Energetic, ambitious men who are free from the dirty politics of 80s !!!
Tshd be a New-Nigeria; New Era ; New Men !!!
Recycled Khaki men should sit down, watch and provide invaluable Logistics when Necessary !!!
God Bless Nigeria,This is the Only Country we Have !!!
Unfortunately the so called "Fresh blood " have not lived up to your expectation and I have , Farouk Lawan, Bankole, Fani Kayode, abaran Maku in mind, and even the El-Rufai and Ribadu (OBJ's hunting dog) you mentioned. Manmohan Singh the Indian Prime Minister is perhaps the best leader world wide , for development and democracy . T
hat country despite its diversity, size and a population of over 1.2 billion people has been transformed into a super power by Manmohan Singh - and he is 84 years old. The lesson here is that age is not a quality factor for or against - find other criteria please.

It is possible to argue convincingly that when Buhari exonerated Abacha of financial crimes, he laid bare his own inimical stance on corruption also, no?

What is your mission @Obiagelli? cheesy

Are you being true to your generation when advance arguments which suggest there are no better alternatives to Buhari in Nigeria?
People are just expressing their opinions with reasons. You can also present a list of capable Nigerians and reasons why they are Quality Presdential material and we may all see your points and believe you.

With due respect we all realize the quality Idiagbon brought when he worked in synchrony with GMB for the benefit of Nigerians and nobody is relegating General Idiagbon here. The topic is about Buhari and many of the issues bewing discussed are even outside that short but important 9 months at state house. we are discussing a life time of service please.

1MCN: @Ms(or Mrs) , please I'd want you to hastily make the clarification in the comment the other man made which you've acknowledged cos it's both contrary and contradictory as well critical.
@Topic, I've listened to great debates about the person and persona of GMB. I think those who support him are being rather too fanatical about the man, and those who loathe him are being mischieviously scandalous knowing that their allegations are only but desperation to conquer their fear.
But however, the man's two greatest discredits are his part and patrimony in the Shagari coup, and his recent ill-informed and ill-timed, unsensible and insensitive stance on the Boko Haram issue. For me as a person, what turns me off most is that in 2007 when he lost an election against his kinsman, Yar'adua in an election the whole world even the beneficiary said it was corrupt, he (GMB) took to court. I watched the live ruling on that case. The evidence presented were stupifying and mortifying but he accepted it in good faith (no pyrotechnique/banger knockouts sounded). But just when he lost against another man from the 'enemies' region' in another election that was adjudged fair and free (to a large extent) his supporters took to destruction of lives and property shouting 'Sai Buhari'--that which we still suffer uptill now as a nation. He might not have ordered that but his statements made him complicit. He definitely has a lot of image redeeming to do here. He might be a good man, but he needs to make the man in him good.
You obviously have a special interest in GEJ and so you have delusions about Buhari's behaviour (or the behaviour of his fans). You are even ready to present GEJ as the victim , when we all know that from the beginning to the end GEJ's election was won by the the use of the nations treasury and outright banditary and rigging. I wish you would explain what you mean by GMB's "insensitive stance on Boko Haram".

The evil government of an incompetent President . Declares state of emergency to improve security and the result is massacre of citizens and school children. 40 school children massacred under care of the so called security forces . Not many of these ignorant bigots know this;

Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport is the oldest in Nigeria, with operations starting in 1936. In the first decades of operation, the airport became an important fuel stop for airlines flying long-haul services between Europe and Africa. Newer aircraft however did not need such fuel stops any longer, and with the demise of the economy of Kano in the late 20th century, many international airlines stopped serving the airport. Until May 2012, KLM was the only European airline serving Kano, which they had done without interruption since 1947. This makes KLM the longest-serving foreign airline in Nigeria. Currently the bulk of international flights cater for the large Lebanese community in Kano and Muslim pilgrimages to Mecca.

The airport both serves civilian and military flights. Runway 06/24 is mainly used for civilian flights, while runway 05/23 primarily serves the Nigerian Air Force base at the south side of the airport. But runway 05/23 was in use for all operations, when the main runway was rehabilitated in the beginning of the 21st century. Between the two runways lie the terminal facilities.

The main terminal with the control tower serves international flights and domestic services operated by Arik Air and Nigerian Eagle Airlines. Facilities in the departure lounge are minimal, with a newsstand near the check-in counter, and a small bar at airside. There is a small VIP Lounge for business class passengers. Duty Free shops are currently closed. In the arrivals hall there is a small bar and a post office.

On the south side of the airport, along runway 06/24, is the domestic terminal currently serving operations of Bellview Airlines and IRS Airlines. Facilities include a newsstand and small bar.

Construction of a new domestic terminal, adjacent to the main terminal building, started in the beginning of the 21st century. Construction was however abandoned, but was resumed. The operator of the airport, Federal Airports Authority Nigeria (FAAN), saw the completion of the new terminal in November 2009 and was commissioned on May 2011.[1]

You are wrong , the airports (including Kano) are being decorated for the Aviation Minister and her superiors to siphon money from the treasury. Creating employment is too boring and does't produce kick back.

You are obviouly a very bitter bigot. You should go into the details of those marriages you called priority and find out how both the men and the women are enpowered in agriculture and business and how they are supervised and supported as they become productive citizens. You will perhaps enquire and find out what the Kano government is doing creating employment for thousands odf graduates. It is easy money to renovate an airport superficially and pocket half of the budget. It is simply a way of justifying and legitimizing corruption, but creating families and creating jobs is building the people and is not easy. You will also want to ask the large Igbo community in Kano. Kano government has given them extensive land for them and their families at the metropolitan LGA of Ungogo and they are competing in building Abuja -like houses . It is a new city already named New Enugu. They are happy and I promise to send you the pictures and skyline of New Enugu. Some people will die of malice and bad belly as we build people and we build the country.Kano was great in it's Thousand year History , is great now and will be greater in the future - and all Nigerians and the world are contributors.

The population means nothing
How many can get on a plane?
There are about 2 million almajiris in Kano alone
Go around Kano you see them sprawled under every mango tree around a Mallam and by evening they are at every major road junction with bowls in hand
So who exactly is hopping on these planes
The number is negligible
Do you know airfrance and some other airline used to fly from the USA to Kano sometime ago
Go and find out why they stopped
The answer is not Boko haram btw
You are talking about a state whose priority in 2013 is organizing mass weddings for widows and jobless men
Abeg
Why won't they fly their folks abroad?
No be dem dey get the lion share of our oil wealth.
