Igbo people need more states to maintain parity.
What fed.govt can do at the moment is to create Njaba from the existing south east.
Create Anioma state from South South and zone to the south east.
Create Upland Rivers state and zone them with their Igbo brothers in the south east.
Alternatively an attempt to include Asa, Ndoki, Obigbo and Omuma people in Aba zone will be welcomed.

@Mazi Agbotaen: With due respect, your posts are interesting to read, but try to avoid repetitions. From your day one here, you have not written any thing different till this day.
It is agreed that their are non-Igbo Ikas such as you but let the Ikas who see themselves as Igbo have peace.
In Igboland there are so many town union organisations such as Otu Ika, Ezumezu Mbaise, Ogbako Mbano, Nzuko Obowu, Ihitte-Etiti Mbaasa, etc. You can belong to this organisation as well as belong to the general Igbo organisation anywhere you are.
Also, it is very wrong for you to say that Ika people can not belong to any organisation except Ika organisations. That shows you do not travel at all or you have not travelled wide.
November 2008, The late Obi of Akumazi was one of the monarchs who endorsed Amb R. Uwaechue as candidate from Anioma to vie for the post of Ohanaeze president-general.
As people learn from you, yu also have to learn from people. Nobody knows all but accept your own limitations of knowledge. Peace.
PoliticsRe: Reps Okay 10 New States by AndreUweh(m): 1:52pm On May 01, 2010
Aba state creation movement has been old as state creations in Nigeria. Though some call it Enyimba state but what matters here is that it should be created.
This state when created will incorporate all the Ndoki people balkanised into Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Abia states together.
It will also include Obigbo and Omuma areas of Rivers state. I give full support for the creation of Aba state or Enyimba state.
Having said that, What Ndigbo need most is Njaba state. Though am not from that region but it is the most qualified.
Second is Anioma
Third is Aba.
4th is Adada or Nsukka state. But this one has only seven LGA's, so I doubt it.

Steve Bruce was a former Man U Captain and now at Sunderland. He will be happy that his former team wins. As a result, the most thing to happen to Chelsea is to win on sunday vs Liverpool.
PoliticsRe: Reps Okay 10 New States by AndreUweh(m): 6:36pm On Apr 30, 2010
There should be a merger of states for parity in all the geo-political zones.
The north west zone has seven states while the south east has only five. As a result, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states should be merged to become one. This will leave north west with five states just as the south east.
Also, in the South west, Ekiti and Ondo states should be merged.
South South, Bayelsa and Rivers should merge.
North central, Plateau and Nasarawa to be fused into one state.
North east, Bauchi and Gombe should become one.
If this idea is implemented, all the geo-political zones will have five states each.

Ishi dada is very common amongst Cherubim and Seraphim christian sect. It is in line with the story of Sampson in the bible whose hair was not to be cut by a razor. Someone else may interprete it differently.

Your reply is not a response to my last post. In my last post, I wrote about Anioma cultural festival of last year. In the presence of Ika and Other Delta Igbo monarchs, RMD-the Delta state commissioner for culture talked about The Igbo culture and praised the Igbo culture. People applauded him and there was no objection.
Plesae, the 200 and so ethnic groupings are utter nonsense.

It was April last year at the Anioma culturefest held at Asaba that The Delta State Commisioner for culture-Richard Mofe-Damijo praised the Igbo culture which he witnessed. He poured encomiums to the Igbo culture. The Ika monarchs were present and they never objected being called Igbo people.
If Ika Obis can not object to being called Igbo, why are the Bini elements complaining?.

@Agbotaen: At the last Anioma cultural festival at Asaba last year (26/04/2010). The Delta state commisioner for culture-Richard Mofe-Damijo spoke extensively about Igbo Culture, the display of Igbo culture and he rounded up by praising the Igbo people. The Ika monarchs were there as well as other Delta Igbo Obis. No Ika Obi objected to his presentation and they all had handshakes with him. So why didn't the Ika monarchs say no that they are now a new ethnic group?.

i dont know why a people who number in several millions are so interested in winning over a small group of people who have decided to take thier destiny in their hand ,by declaring that they are ikas and have refused to join any igbo groupings.so just leave us , every group have the right to self determination and ikas have said they are ikas and we do not want any thing to do with any igbo organisation.we appreciate their effort and even a letter was written by ohaneze to ika leaders to join , and our leaders told them we cannot join them ,in view of the fact that many of our people have different ancestory and as such it will not be right and that we are a seperate people now.any way all this shouting will not affect anything as the key movers of ika will not and will never join the igbos period.
we might not have numbers , but we are a very proud of our civilization and culture and tradition.and we are also proud of who we are .the ika people.
if you are not ika then you are not.

Clap for your self. Shall we now celebrate the birth of a new ethnic group?. No, Ika will remain as Igbo sub group. You can never change that.

I cant believe you. You can insult individuals and not the entire Igbo race. Please stop that madness. Do not drag this thread to that level as this is a war you can not win. Even my community forumites outnumber the entire Ika forumites here. But desist from insulting ndigbo as we are here to learn from one another.

It is only those Ikas who have never left the shores of Nigeria claim that non-Ikas can join Igbo organisations. I belong to a famous Igbo organisation in the UK and it has many Ikas as members for example the Etuhus. One of them plays for Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Obi Of Owa Backs Military Action In Niger-delta by AndreUweh(m): 1:24am On Apr 18, 2010
It is an imbecilic statement to say that Ikas were not regarded as Ndigbo until after the war. As early as 1917, Mr Nyandel has writen books about his experience in Ika Igbo areas. He rightly saw Ika people as Igbo people.

What anti-Igbo elements are writing here have been thrashed out severally on nairaland. No one realy cares to read your junk as you all have got less than 100 posts.
The current Obi of Onitsha-Igwe Achebe has disclaimed Bini ancestry of Onitsha. Stop that old and silly Bini ancestry of Onitsha. Onitsha people are proud Igbo people. Onitsha has so many meanings and Azikiwe's mother gave another meaning of Onitsha in Igbo. If at all you have read Azikiwe's book which one of the new kids of nairaland mentioned, you will know where I am coming from.
Also on Onitsha, Azikiwe in his book did not categorically state that Onitsha people are Binis, but he was only quoting what his illiterate grand-mother told him. Did that illiterate old woman conduct any research on Onitsha ancestry?.
Point of correction, What Jim Ovia treceived was Ikenga award for the best Igbo banker of last year. It is not Aka-Ikenga award. Without denial, he is a proud Ika and proud Igbo man.
Another correction, Nri kingdom is the oldest Kingdom in Nigeria. I also wish to let all of you with less than a hundred posts understand that Ndiigbo east of the Niger do not care much about their ancestry. But they see each other as one.
I think it will be wise for all the non-Igbo elements in Ikaigbo to pay taxes on the land they are occupying.

Akparachichi is a bit unique. It depends on what is means, then we'll have 2 translations.

Akparachichi shi na odu avom ngala = Akparachichi si na ino ani (ino odu) abom ngala = Akparachichi said that sitting down gave me laziness.

or

Akparachichi no ani (no odu) abom ngala = Akparachichi is sitting down but accuses me of laziness
In Isinweke, Akparachichi is goose pimples. It is called Akpara-oyi in standard Igbo.
Odu means buttocks. Ukwu or ike in standard igbo.
Ngala is right here or Ebea in central igbo.
It means that I am having goose pimples right here. Just an expression of shock.

Regardless, Isinweke people are Igbo people not an ethnic nationality. Ika people, hope you all understand .

@Agbotaen: I do understand the relevance of history, however, in todays Nigerian context, your identity is not just about your history of 750 years ago nor moonlight tales but what you represent and accepted by your neighbours. The neigbours of the Ika people e.g the Binis know that Ikas are Igbos and other Nigerians think so.Your attempt at making the Ikas an ethnic group is a failed one.
Stop turning logic upside down. The Ika people at present (majority) regard themselves as Ndigbo or Delta Igbo. Last April in Owerri, a proud Ika and proud Igbo-Jim Ovia received an Ikenga Igbo award as the best banker of last year. I hope you do not have any problem with that.
The late Obi of Akumazi was one of the Ika Obis who picked Amb R. Uwaechue as the sole candidate of Ohanaeze ndi Igbo last Nov 2009.
You may relocate to Bini if you wish but stop spreading lies of non Igboness of Ndiika.
CultureRe: The Ika People{igbanke}. by AndreUweh(m): 8:13pm On Apr 16, 2010
You can be Ika as well as Igbo. The likes of Onwujiegwu and other professors of over 20 years research on Delta Igbo people concluded that Ika people are Igbo people.
I do agree about Bini arrivals and influence on Ika people, but before then the natives were Igbo and still. There is no particular group that is Igbo. The Igbo people are Southern Nigerian grpups who speak closely-related DIALECTS such as Ika, Nkwerre, Igberre, Ikwerre, Aro, Ngwa, Isinweke, Afikpo, Nsukka, Awka, etc.
There is no need to have a Rivers state system of every village is an ethnic nationality. That should not be tolerated in Ikaland and entire Delta Igbo region.

The opening and closing prayers were conducted using Igbo language. The wine carrying and other activities were not different from the way it is handled in other Igbo areas.
On that day, The MC, spoke in Igbo and all announcements were on Igbo language.
Hence, do not take away The Igbo in Ikwerre people.

Egun is completely different from Yoruba. No similarities of any sort. The Yorubas do not regard them as Yorubas either. The place regarded as enuani is a part of Igboland. Hence, the number one post in Igboland today is held by an Igbo from Enuani or Enuali or Enuana.
It is our Igbo brothers who shamelessly make themselves minorities when they are not. Take it or leave it, Enuani is Igbo.

Not all Yorubas believe in Oduduwa as their progenitor. It is mostly the Oyo/Osun axis that believe in Oduduwa. The Ijebus and Egbas till date dpo not accept the Oduduwa theory.
The Igbo people are those who speak similar or closely related dialects. It will be very silly of you to try and form a new language or a new ethnic group in Nigeria.
Enuani, Ukwuani, Ika etc are all dialects of Igbo language.
Look at the Yorubas, they have cluster of dialects for example Ife, Owoh, Ondo, Ekiti, ijebu etc, yet they do not come here to dislaim Yoruba.
Shame to all those with identity crisis.
