As far as I know, it has not contributed anything to Nigeria's development. Frankly speaking, we're just discussing Nigeria's problems here without doing anything about it-can't blame anyone anyway because this forum represents only a negligible population of the Nigerian nation.
But with all the gossips and all, Nairaland helps in keeping internet users busy, entertained and updated in issues concerning the nation. Even in the computer and technology section it has helped a little esp. to me because I'm a computer science student but it has not had a serious direct effect or influence Nigeria's development.

Hello, it depends on which "love" you're talking about. You needn't "fall-in-love" with your mum, brother, sister or any close kin-although some[i] insane[/i] people do some very crazy things-because you naturally love that relative of yours naturally.
But it's sad when people like the physical or current status of some other person and confuse it for love or when some other people pretend-and thus deceive themselves-that they love the person's "attitudes" but go ahead to "break-up" or divorce after one or two weeks after courtship.

That was the Old testament. Is it not Jesus that prayed for his killers and would even have forgiven Judas if he was willing to repent. I'm not saying a crime such as killing the innocent should just be forgiven just like that, I'm saying that life for life should be "activated" so to say only when it's purely based on serving justice and not on revenge as only God can be the true judge and since he made life, only Him (don't forget He was the one that asked Moses to take life for life) should take it rightfully.

I think capital punishment should be abolished entirely.

We've gone past that age of life for life, tooth for tooth thingy. Only God or on God's orders should that person's life be taken as killing her will not make any right now apart from a feeling of completed vengeance. She should be thrown in prison for life it's even more miserable than killing her. Inasmuch as she had no right (in fact, she was evil to have done so) to kill her manfriend, the court has no right to kill her too.

Capital punishment should be moderated but not entirely abolished so that we'll be able to distinguish justice from revenge or vengeance.
