I have lived in a country where the rule of law is supreme all the time. There are procedures and ethics as to how things happen in democracy irrespective of what you suspect Lai Mohammed will say. Mr Mohammed is the propaganda mouthpiece of the APC, so it's his job to talk whatever they chose to do anyway

Nigeria has a civilian rule and not a democracy, if the apparatus of the state that supposed to be neutral become the grass cutter of the government. There is huge difference between a State and a Government. DSS works for the Nigeria State not the PDP government.

The law clearly provides that only the National Population and its affiliate departments CAN ENGAGE IN the collection of fingerprints as a form of identity.

Now some of us understand that we have a lawless society where emotions rather than the law we all have subscribed to ends up as the order of the day.

FIRSTLY, APC a duly registered political party is very much on course having a data center, taking down details of its memebers etc. HOWEVER, IT VIOLATES THIS FREEDOM once its acquires DATA CAPTURE devices to even collect finger print details. BY COLLATING BIOMETRICS , IT NOW MOVES BEYOND MERE MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION TO a purely security terrian.

SECONDLY, The SSS has a security outfit has every legal right and is within its powers to investigate any body , political party, religious organization or individual and as such no one should cry foul and call that UNDEMOCRATIC. The ACTION of the SSS is in order and was done with minimal or no force at all.

THIRDLY, It would be important for the APC leadership to explain how biometric details enhances the integrity of data collection for its membership profile. Financial institutions , Educational institutions all have data centers or data management centers, Never has it been recorded that finger print details were required for even the most risky financial transactions. WE ALL KNOW THAT AN INDIVIDUAL SIGNATURE is often the length of authentication needed.

IN CONCLUSION, THIS OPPOSITION PARTY SHOULD EXPLAIN TO NIGERIANS whAT It intends to do with fingerprints WHICH , our Banks , schools dont need!!!

GUESS THATS THE STARTING POINT for this DISCUSS - not emotional , baseless outburst over a state organ performing its legal duties.

Much as I agree with the fact that you are entitled to your opinion, what you believe or don't believe, it's logical to premise our submissions on indisputable facts. If you have already zeroed your mind not to believe the DSS on the search warrant they claimed to have been duly obtained before the raid, then your judgements are fraught with sentiments and remain untenable.
You talked about the said warrant not been shown to anybody. Remember neither Lai Mohammed nor any APC leaders were resident in that building for them to have sought for such. The 24 youths found in the office might have been availed the warrant. If APC wants to prove the veracity of DSS claims, the doors of Nigerian courts are wide open. After all, Tambuwwal approached the court for the reinstatement of his security apparatus and the case is subsisting.

With regards to Osun bribery allegation, I am old enough and a good student of Nigerian political history. The best decision DSS could take was to allow a sleeping dog lie. That event took place on the eve of the election, what do you think would have happened if a prominent official of Osun State Govt was hounded in jail on allegation of bribery? Even the detention of Lai Mohammed who incidentally was not an indigene of Osun was blown beyond proportion despite contravening election statutes by violating 6pm-8am curfew imposed on the state.

APC registration centre is not a secrete society and commonsense dictates that a signage or banner should have been conspicuously placed at a strategic place in that premises. If such had been done, the party would have been in a vantage position to vent anger at any intruders be it SSS or police. I rest my case.

Sir, I followed many of the electoral cases in the last election and I want you to go and consult a lawyer.....membership register in the law has nothing to do with electoral results and actual voting.

The State (in this case the FGN as the lawful tier of government) has the responsibility to ensure voters are registered and registered once. They are required to deploy the needed technology or process to make this happen and ensure one man gets to vote once. In 1993 ,when we did not have the current day technological capabilities, the government adopted option A4 to curb multiple registration and voting took place simultaneously nationwide and it was by physical counting of people.

Based on the foregoing if a party boasts of 300m members out of which 100m are doubles ....the INEC should ensure that the biodata captured screens out the 100m from going near the polling booths. Even if a party has 300m registered members there is a very slim possibility that all 300m will go and vote on election day.

My point is that membership of parties only stops at the threshold of bragging and campaigns. Hence membership list of a party has nothing to do with the outcome of votes / elections. Afterall ACN delivered Jonathan's presidency in the SW state except osun in 2011. Unfortunately Ribadu was used at that time. I think party registration is strictly an internal affair and all the SSS has said is consistent with party membership registration.

I disagree with your so called Ghost voters because I am one of them and i know about 100 other people in my pressure group who voted at the last elections and we suddenly could not find our names on the register and our cards consequently. Strangely we were all Buhari supporters. I am suspecting that some of us may have been deliberately disenfranchised but it is still a suspicion. However I am really worried that SSS has developed interest in APC membership list. We will see the drama unfold and see where it will take us.

I used to respect the SSS as an agency that stood out but unfortunately politicians have killed them. There is something called intelligence gathering and infiltration.......why have they put these in the back burner and now use brute force?....in the past SSS was faceless but effective even as NSO....now they have seen the benefit in politics and joined the band wagon.


This democracy as we have it offers no hope but a bleak future.

It is very disheartening reading some APC e-touts trying to defend a clear criminal case of multiple voters registration by the APC.
I have said it before and I will say it again here: APC is an assembly of disgruntled politicians who lack a clear cut political ideology but want to bully their ways to power at all costs.
However, I am confident that Nigerians are wiser than them and will not hesitate to vote them out come 2015.

The comments from the perceived APC apologists here are so myopic and crude that it leaves one to wonder what sort of country they really want to live in. I can't Imagine where a report allegging that someone's picture was used over 15 times with different profiles and some people feel its normal! Barging into apc's privacy is unacceptable, but when the dss have court order and search warrant it becomes safe enough to go ahead. ( Thought apc alleged that the dss didn't have a court order or search warrant!). I will keep saying it, the apc of today is not anywhere close to what Nigerians need! The only reason they want to impeach Jonathan is Purely "Tribalistic, Religious and Born to Rule Agenda. Jonathan is not the best Nigeria needs and but sincerely Nigeria is tailored to not ever ever get its best leader.
