My neighbor's wife has been on his neck for the past two years now to have the third child. The man is still standing his ground that the two they have is enough. Funny enough, they don't have as much money as they used to have. She is doing this to compete with her friends who have 3kids aready. I don't understand how the woman dey reason.
God take care of kids, let her five birth to the children in her womb for crying out loud.

Every marriage is different.

Some men start out with a liberal mindset but this could have deadly consequences down the line - if a man is married to the wrong kind of woman. By the time the man realizes it - it is often too late.
Same also goes for women.

This is the best thread I have come across on nairaland this year, this is true talk, men often take lots of risk to take care of everyone around them at their own expense, it's time we think of taking care of ourselves.
So, women don't take risk?

Honestly things are so hard these days. I calculated our most recent expenses and it is much. Many families have indeed lowered their spending. The only option now is another source of income or return to the village.

But what of us with men that we have begged to reduce work? Any advice for us? 😃

Leave that guy.

He talks like a someone without empathy.

Everyone isn't the same. Because you were able to have guidance and investment capital at a young age, doesn't mean another person has access to those advantages.
The problem with most Nigeria is that they want to get wealthy without working or sweating for it. My uncle majde it at age 45yrs and I am learning many things from him. The question you should be asking is how did he make it that big & learning a thing or two from him.

My actual problem is fear of the unknown and unforseen expenses.

For instance last year March my daughter just came back from school and by night she got really sick.
In just 6days we spent over 200k on hospital bills.

I don't have people to run to for help, infact I hardly even ask anyone for help...so I can't afford to be financially stranded.

So that my fear which limits me alot but I think I need to put it aside now.
It's obvious you la k financial education

Here's what you need to do have the following money for specific expenses
1. Money for school fees and rent should come from investment not savings
2. Medicals should be done at the beginning of the yeardor the whole family
3. Your win vex money that only you have and you wife doesn't know about

Ire o!

One just has to avoid financial stess by all means, today I told my wife that we need a new inveter battery for the inverter, and I need her support ,she said she's giving her salary as first fruit to church this month, I told her I'm not going to keep fueling generator every night, na she kuku dey carry chutch doctrine for head.
I no go kill myself over anything again.
This approach would never work. Always appeal to her emotions that money would come out.

Amlodipine is a medication primarily used to treat:

1. High Blood Pressure (Hypertension): Amlodipine helps relax blood vessels, reducing blood pressure and the risk of cardiovascular disease.
2. Angina Pectoris: Amlodipine increases blood flow to the heart, reducing the frequency and severity of angina attacks.
3. Coronary Artery Disease (CAD): Amlodipine helps manage CAD by reducing blood pressure and improving blood flow to the heart.

Amlodipine belongs to a class of medications called calcium channel blockers (CCBs), which work by blocking the entry of calcium into the muscle cells of the heart and blood vessels. This leads to relaxation of the muscles, increased blood flow, and reduced blood pressure.

It's essential to take Amlodipine as directed by your healthcare provider, as it can have side effects and interact with other medications.
occfx:
Every married man is seeing hell at the moment except those who are lucky with free flowing dough.

Just keep Amlodipin 10mg by your side and an anti depressant like Heineken or action bitters.

It is what it is

Even this year now we are battling how to make payments for school fees, house rent around the corner, the expenses keeps building up

Most times when I get home from work, after taking my bath, i just pretend that am sleeping and take a quiet place to reflect on what and what to do to improve the condition to favour

Life goes on

Nowadays, I don't work myself up, elders over here say

"Na the one WEY you chop for your Belle, na im be your own"

So most times when am at work and I see anything that i long to put in my stomach or for my satisfaction, I buy it, even if it means telling my wife a lie

Try to rest mostly on Sundays and when you get any chance off, lock yourself in the room and sleep

I'll never forget what A Man in his late 60s told me almost 10 years ago

He said if you as a family Man fall down and die today, the children you left behind will still achieve their goals and life purposes and yes they'll survive even without you.
Look at foreign stocks and thank me later.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by AngelSlay: 11:37am On Jan 18, 2025
I’m usually a long term investor but I studied the market these past few days and decided to to some reshuffling to my portfolio. That is, Sell some and back into at some discounted prices. I was in shock when I discovered today that. I’ll try buying oando at 63.5N and these brokers are purchasing it at 65.6 N , when it went up to 69N I tried selling and they sold it at 65.5N because I was using market pricing instead of limit pricing (on Yochaa). I’m putting this out there because it’s very important. They did the same for all my purchases. They can’t cheat you when the stock is stable for example Aradel as there’s only 1 price for it. These are big margins. When I checked my broker’s statements from email I noticed that when you choose Limit price they actually buy it at the exact price . If you choose market pricing they can easily cheat you. By selling the stock to themselves at cheaper prices or buying at higher prices .its clear they are making profits off your trade. So it’s always important to use the limit price and set your own price. Let’s say a stock is 65.50 you can set limit price at 66.00 and you should be fine. If you choose market pricing they might actually buy it for you at 67.5 or even 68.00 big difference when you are doing volumes. I’m glad I learnt that today. We go again next week

CareerRe: Career Advice by AngelSlay: 11:09am On Jan 17, 2025
My friend, I totally understand your concerns and desires!

Firstly, kudos to you for recognizing the value of acquiring a new skill, especially one that can be a source of income. Learning painting can be a fantastic way to express yourself creatively and potentially earn a living.

Now, let's weigh the pros and cons of your decision:

Pros
1. Acquiring a new skill: Learning painting can open up new opportunities and provide a sense of fulfillment.
2. Potential income stream: With painting skills, you can offer services, sell artwork, or even teach others.
3. Personal growth: Taking a break from your current routine can help you recharge and gain a fresh perspective.
4. Family support: Living with your elder brother can provide emotional support and guidance.

Cons
1. Financial uncertainty: You'll be giving up your steady income (N90,000/month) for an uncertain period.
2. Career impact: Taking a 3-month break might affect your career progression or relationships with your current employer.
3. Unpredictable outcomes: There's no guarantee that you'll become proficient in painting or that it will lead to a sustainable income.
4. Adjusting to a new environment: Living with your brother and adapting to a new routine can be challenging.

To make an informed decision, consider the following:

1. Can you afford the financial risk? Do you have enough savings to support yourself during the 3-month period?
2. How will this impact your long-term goals? Will taking a break from your current career hinder your progress or create new opportunities?
3. What's your plan for after the 3 months? Do you have a clear idea of how you'll integrate your new painting skills into your life and career?

Ultimately, the decision is yours. Take your time, weigh the pros and cons carefully, and consider discussing your plans with trusted friends, family, or a mentor.

What do you think? Is there anything specific that's driving your desire to make this change?
