Dear Propertylanders Please I seek you advise on this matter. I am about to sell one plot of land (it two plots) for N12m (initially N15m) 100 by 50 and the agents are asking for 10% which I declined but telling them I can only do 2.5% as that's the best offer I can afford at the moment. They are insisting on 10% and the land is not even fenced yet and it part of the money I want to use to fence the land. What's your thoughts on this matter? |

Goodman024:What do you have passion for? This is the right step out of Poverty is to imitate not the lifestyle of the wealthy, but imitate their known source of wealth. Why start a business that you don't know a single person doing such business who is a Millionaire? You are not doing business. You are just being busy. I discourage people from going into several types of businesses. But if they decide to go on, it is their choice. If they succeed I will be surprised. If they do not succeed, I will not be surprised. No business is 100% guaranteed of success. I know. But unless you are a great Innovator, please focus on doing business that you know several people doing it who are already Millionaires and Billionaires. |
Paragonpric:It's great that you're recognizing this pattern and seeking to change it. Breaking free from a poverty mentality can be challenging, but it's definitely possible. Identifying the Root Cause 1. Childhood experiences: Growing up in a poor household can significantly impact your relationship with money. It's possible that your brain has wired itself to prioritize frugality over self-care. 2. Fear of scarcity: You might be subconsciously afraid that if you spend money on yourself, you'll run out or not have enough for the future. 3. Self-worth tied to money: You may believe that spending money on yourself is indulgent or unnecessary, and that your worth is tied to your ability to save and invest. Strategies to Overcome Poverty Mentality 1. Gradual exposure: Start small by treating yourself to something you enjoy, like a nice meal or a new outfit. Gradually increase the frequency and value of these treats. 2. Self-care budgeting: Allocate a specific amount for self-care and personal expenses each month. This will help you prioritize your own needs. 3. Reframe your mindset: Challenge negative thoughts by reminding yourself that taking care of yourself is essential to your well-being and success. 4. Invest in experiences: Instead of just buying material things, invest in experiences that bring you joy, such as travel, learning a new skill, or attending events. 5. Seek support: Share your struggles with a trusted friend or mentor and ask for their support and guidance. 6. Practice self-compassion: Be kind to yourself as you work through this process. Remember that it's okay to make mistakes and that you're doing the best you can. 7. Celebrate milestones: Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they may seem. Additional Tips 1. Dress for success: Invest in a few quality outfits that make you feel confident and professional. 2. Eat nutritious food: Focus on consuming healthy, balanced meals that nourish your body and mind. 3. Take breaks and practice self-care Regularly take time off to relax, recharge, and engage in activities that bring you joy. Remember, overcoming a poverty mentality takes time, patience, and self-awareness. Be gentle with yourself, and don't be afraid to seek help when you need it. |
