Romance / Re: Does True Love Really Exist Now Adays. by aniffy4eva(m): 1:12am On May 12, 2007
Definition of love can be found in the bible like the earlier posts have indicated,
However, my viewpoint is that love is simply placing the other person before yourself, now tell me , in Naija , who wants to do that?

@ N'landers,

Secondly, i don't think i am capable of the "love thing", (u know, can't sleep, can't think, nah! it aint just my style) undecided
Is there something wrong with me?
Business / Re: If You Had A Billion Dollars Returns Monthly What Would You Do With Your Money ? by aniffy4eva(m): 1:19pm On May 09, 2007
I'd kick poverty out of nigeria,

i) infrastructural investment, ie. invest in utilities (e.g. gas powered power plants, water dams etc) for constant electricty and water supply.
ii) education. (but not the average school system, more of the unconventional business schools, so that more people can go ahead to make returns of $2bn or more monthly smiley

these investments would have a multiplier effect on the young generation by creating an enabling environment for the focussed ones.

for me, what's the use of money if u can't share or help others, wink
Business / Re: How Much Does It Cost To Verify A Certificate by aniffy4eva(m): 6:49am On May 08, 2007
@ N'landers

It should take about 5 working days to verify your certificate normally, "note the emphasis". however, due to the way Naija is, the registrars have various reasons for the delay.
e.g. the volume of share certificates waiting to be verified may be overwhelming, like millions,
the company in question may not want all the certficates to be verified quickly to disallow many shareholders from selling off and making profit due to capital appreciation as this would cause an overflooding of the market with their shares and a drop in price, cos all CEOs love it when the share prices of their coys rise smiley and hate it when it falls angry

But my bro., the longest it shd take shd be about 2 - 3 wks

Business / Re: Let's Talk About Warren Buffet by aniffy4eva(m): 5:27pm On Apr 15, 2007
Hello people,

I have been reading through the posts and i think there's a misconception that Warren Buffet made his money as an individual investor.

Warren started out with a limited partnership where he had seven people including himself contribute $15,000 each. From this pool of funds, he started buying shares off the floor of the stock exchange. After some time he decided to dissolve the partnership leaving his partners with either of two options:
1. Obtain your share of the cash at hand OR
2. Leave your share with him while he continues to invest,

He now started mopping up shares of Berkshire Hathaway, which was an insurance company, why he did this was to use the cashflow obtained from premiums to purchase shares of companies he liked/ met his investment objectives. All he had to focus on was owning a majority % in Berkshire Hathaway, and you all know the rest of the story,

I just want you guys to understand that he made his money using a business (Berkshire Hathaway) as his investment vehicle and not as an individual investor purchasing units of the floor.
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by aniffy4eva(m): 2:54pm On Jan 29, 2007
i read through most of the posts and noted that quite a number of people are more interested in going into stocks without first understanding some basics.

Making money in shares is basically one way to make/multiply money.(there are other ways, ), however, i'll suggest that before you pick up a phone to call your stockbroker, there's something you shd do,

ie, Buy a shirt!!

i know it sounds funny, especially when you are trying to reconcile a shirt to stocks, let me explain, cheesy

When you want to buy a shirt, you look at the size (if it suits you), you look at the quality, you also think of the other clothes you have at home (to see if it combines well with them, ).you think about the price (if you can get the same one/quality for a cheaper price). If you can answer all these affirmatively, then you go ahead to pay for the shirt,
A share/stock is no different,

You think of how much it'll cost you, what will make the price higher in the future (b'cos Seun said so doesn't sount tongue), can it continue to make money (ie the company), how?? beacuse when you are buying a share/stock, you are buying into the ownership of the company, so no matter how little you are paying for, you are giving up your hard-earned cash for a piece of the action,

I could go on for ages, just ponder on the points listed above,

Stay wise!! kiss
