Hi Guys

@ Kenosky

Thanks for visiting my blog. Just thought i should try some of the writing skills i learnt from this thread. wink

@ everyone else

Well, The thread may be slowing down, but at least, a post once in a while will do everyone good. I also want to thank everyone that has posted on this thread at one time or the other cos this is where i got the inspiration to start my blog. Its actually a mix of my journey to Bonny and other events in my life. I titled it "My Memoirs". Its supposed to be like a journal/personal diary. grin

I met Opoks! too on the eve of our departure, struck me as a cool dude. Anyways, i wish everyone the very best of life. Please just take a look at yourself and say slowly, " This is the lowest, i can ever be!" Cos that's the truth.

Career / Re: Should I Leave My Job For Forex Trading Training. by aniffy4eva(m): 12:53am On Jan 26, 2008
Hello

Well, i was in your shoes like 3 months ago. I had a job with a very good company but i didn't like my job anymore, so i decided to quit and take lessons in forex trading. I had some accumulated savings on the side and i thought all would be well. i am a Christian, i really prayed about it and made the decision believing God to guide me. After my resignation, i attended forex lessons and was tutored by one of the legendary names when it comes to Forex trading in Nigeria. After a month, i felt that i was good to go, cos i had learnt all the ropes and someone invested $3,000 in me. So i took the plunge and went into forex trading. To be honest, i lost the whole funds in less than 1 month due to the recent credit crunch. I didn't anticipate it. I was ashamed, confused and embarrassed at my failure. I was so sorry, not for myself, but for the person that invested his hard-earned funds in me. I WAS DEVASTATED.

Did i send more money to prove anything? NO. I just sat down and analyzed the situation, the forex guru had been trading for 7 years. 7 good years!!! Nobody told me that. Nobody tells you about their losses. The honest truth is that nobody likes to discuss their losses.

On the other hand, if you sincerely believe that you have all that it takes. I have heard countless stories of people that have been making millions, here in Nigeria, just by trading forex. With all that has been said, if you really believe that this is destiny calling you, then by all means, be my guest. Don't let criticisms keep you from fulfilling purpose. Who knows? you could be the "George Soros" Nigeria has been waiting for.

As for me, well i still trade forex (not commercially though) and God provided another job for me. A better one wink that is more tuned to my personality and my sense of purpose. That is why i can never rule out God, and i would advise that you do the same.

In retrospect, there were other invaluable lessons during the process. Relationships i formed, perspectives i gained and insights gotten were worth much more than what i expected at the onset. That i believe, was the main purpose of my training,

I wish you all the best.

@ Shostar

I already sent this to you via email, but i decided to post it here for others that may learn from it.

I sensed the scam too late cos i had already paid, it was during a shoddy interview i had with them that it suddenly occurred to me that i was being duped, undecided, i never even bothered to go to the office that i was being referred to.

OK People

I just couldn't resist the urge to post, undecided

Trying to analyse the situation

Mr. Rufai

Young
Mr nice guy
Still in school
First Love
Obviously inexperienced
A computer geek, (reduces his chances of being a show-stopper cool ), except he develops a program and hits it big like Microsoft. cheesy, then all the chicks will be around`you cos of your money, grin
Sloppy

Anyways, if this whole story is true undecided, just sit down, relax and use your head.

"I left the room to get a drink, [s]when I came in she was holding my picture, steering at it with no blinks![/s] I said "hmm, what are you doing?" She replied "Nothing, just that I like the picture." I said no she had enough of my pictures with her, I can't give her this one now."

Guess what thought was in her head." I know the sucker is gonna fall for this, grin"and sadly, embarassed, you have, embarassed embarassed

My advice,

You don't even need her friendship for now, just blank her, FORGET about her, no need for chit-chat, no need for Hello, na by force, . Focus all your energies on something constructive, and trust me, with time, she'll be nothing more than a fading memory. Is it simple, yes. Easy? No way. You have to be in control of your emotions. That's where maturity begins.

Cheers.

N.B. abeg leave that child in JSS 2, Haba, Mallam Rufai!!! JSS 2 !!! ,

Career / Re: N1m Monthly Income In Nigeria: Fact Or Fiction? by aniffy4eva(m): 11:15pm On Dec 20, 2007
@ seguntx

Well, with 6 yrs work experience in IT, i think you have a shot at it, Although some IT companies may pay you that much, you may stand a better chance heading the IT department of companies in other sectors . Having a static salary package for experienced hires is not so plausible. Your package is based more on your negotiation and your prospective employer's perception.

Career / Re: N1m Monthly Income In Nigeria: Fact Or Fiction? by aniffy4eva(m): 9:48pm On Dec 20, 2007
Its very possible, The honest truth is that those that earn such sums hardly post here on nairaland. However, this would depend on your work experience and the industry you are interested in.

Moreover, most of the posts (on salaries < or = N1m per annum) you see here are usually for graduates fresh out of the university.

Before you move to Naija, please weigh your options carefully.

Regards

Just my 2 cents. wink

Point of correction, as stated earlier by Kenosky, non-engineers that are Bonny-bound are scheduled for the plant induction as well, so you are not resuming slightly ahead of "others" grin, the plant induction is scheduled for guys that have been posted to Production unit which comprises of Engineering, Technology and so on

Bonny-bound folks that are not in Production Unit are not scheduled to attend the plant induction.
