So if I go back and same question asked, I'll say 15k?
Remember the first VO didn't even ask but just collected my receipts and stocked to the hospital only.
More so, I don't have medical receipt to cover 15k.

Just confused o.

I think you can actually put that in the reasons for been refused previously. And try to use that medium to explain your self better on your next application

To whom it may concern

LA Passport Agency no longer accepts ds3053 not notarized in the embassy. This is causing a major shake-up to my travel plans.

Pls who has used visa on arrival recently? How long did it take to get approval letter? Cos I've read some posts here recently of people who were complaining that they haven't received any response and their travel dates were close.

who can help me fast track the voa? pls pls...with all the public holidays packed around Christmas, I don't even know how many days we'd be left with after getting the pasport
Same day

Hello house, pls I need some clarification.
For the notarized form, does DH need to go to U.S embassy in Naija even after meeting a lawyer to sign and stamp the form? Someone asked him to go 2 d embassy with an electronic copy of d baby's BC (saying that was hw he did his own last yr). Some others are saying he shld just get a lawyer to sign and stamp and post it 2 me.
Pls which is correct?

P.S, i'm in Virginia so it will take @ least 2wks to

get BC. So we can't wait dat long jst to start d notarization process plus d time it will take to mai
l it
I not think it’s necessarily the one done at the Embassy.. because when DH did for our LO it was just signed by a lawyer

[quote author=chimsimdindu post=55561443]Is it possible to get F1 Visa for community college?

Yes you can. But, there’s a trick to that. I will explain that with two examples.

In this article, you can read two F1 Visa interview experience for Community College. Then, you can read why one student got F1 visa, and other got rejected.

F1 Visa for Community College – Rejected

I was denied my F1 visa
Here’s my background:

I am a high school graduate, and I was accepted into Foothill College (2-year transfer community college) in California. The Visa Officer, during my interview, asked me two questions about the college. Here’re the questions and answers:

1) How did you hear about Foothill?

The college was mentioned during a college spotlight at school by my college counsellor.

2) Why Foothill College?

The fees are comparatively more economical as compared to the other college I was accepted into(i.e., Florida Inst. Of Tech.). Another reason is that Foothill has an excellent transfer program to the University of California schools.

3) Do you have anybody in the U.S?

No.

After the third question, visa officer denied my visa stating that he found me to be a non-credible student and issued me the 214(b).

F1 Visa for Community College – Approved
Here’s another student who got his F1 Visa sharing his experience.

I have received five years F1 visa for a community college (Pierce College) in Los Angeles. Here’s how?

I applied in January, but I got rejected.

Reason. I could not convince the VO why I am selecting a community college over a university. They need a solid proof.

I applied again in July of the same year, and I got my visa.

I took the course curriculum with me telling them what’s the main reason for community college and what exactly am gonna do. Same classes at university were at community college but at four times the price of community college.

So, I explained the VO why should I pay more for same classes when I can cover them at much affordable price plus how flexible is a community college.

I got my visa and I am typing this sitting from LA. I did

Hello dear please when you went to interview for the community college did you pay for the SEVIS fee..I also sent you a DM please kindly respond

God bless you for this information. Thanks for not replying with any insult...you ll never lack wisdom. I will do just that.
It's actually ok to get an interview date before completing your form. But not always a good idea sometimes, I'll share my story on that. I had finished filling my form but upon submitting started showing error, had no idea what to do initial and got scared that I even contacted the embassy via mail and got a response that if I couldn't retrieve all I need to do is fill a new form. Remember you use your DS confirmation code in getting appointments so the luck I had was that I hadn't so I didn't have complicating issues of my new DS code and the old one which is usually the case when such things happened. So IMO I think it's better to follow the normal process as stated on the site

Hello my good people....please help a sister. I have been following this thread for a while now and I intend applying for the visa by feeling the form myself but someone just said the interview date I will be given will be so far, that those agents can get a nearer date. I want to go through medical.....pls I need advice asap.
I'm sure you have a phone that is Internet enabled which you can use in checking for closest appointment dates from time to time. The agents are not magicians neither is there any other means they get early dates unless you just want to dash them some money.

In the spirit of giving back here goes my POE experience Left for the US on 7th via Turkish Airlines
Straight down from lagos airport I wasn't asked for fit to fly even though we arrived late my mum and I landed JFK 8th March 11:25am US time Had to do the self service machine passport scanning
After which was directed to a CBP officer an African dude
Me : hello
CPB: passport please
U.S.: gave him our passports
CBP: why are you in Newyork
Me: to have my baby
Cbp : you have cash on you
Me: yes 3k dollars and USD cards too
CBP: do you have anything to show for that
Me : you mean doctors appointment
CBP: yes
Me: hands it over to him including that of the hospital
He then stamps us in for 6 months and that was all. No other documents checked no secondary inspection not even Agric even after declaring food and having all the naija soup ingredients and spices for omugwo you can think of it. All this happened in less than 10mins. I appreciate you all for the good advices in this wonderful thread.

Hello Family, I had my visa interview 8:00am in Lagos on the 9th I applied with my mum, we got there quiet early went through all the processes and we finally got into the main building. Even as early as it was the whole place was filled to the bream with only one lady VO that day who bounced almost everyone. Surprisingly a security man walked up to Me and asked Us to be in line for that same woman..(oh my God not that woman biko)We had no option than to Finally stand in line with 3 men in front who eventually got denied. After which ours went thus
VO- Morning, passports please
US- Morning Hands over passport
VO- what's the relationship
Mum-she's my daughter
VO- Wow you look like sisters
Mum- Immediately brings out family pictures to show
VO-That's fine
VO- Why are you going to the US?
Me- To deliver my baby
Mum- To assist my daughter and cos it's her first time and the baby is my first grandchild
VO- Oh I see and where would that be
Me- Houston Texas
Vo- what do you do
Me- bleep
Mum- bleep
VO- have you ever travelled before
Mum- Yes, been travelling to UK since 2009
VO- Turns to me and you
Me- Yes, been to Dubai 2twice in 2013
VO-How much would this cost you
Me- $12,000- 14,000
VO- Have you made contacts with a doctor and how do you intending paying for this
Me- As a self paid patient my husband and I would be paying for that
ME- Brings out doctors & Hospital correspondence of WHMC, budget sheet and bank statement( I no wan hear stories)
VO- carefully goes through it and hands them back to me
VO- And where would you be staying
ME- We have made arrangements for a paid apartment
VO- Do you have other bank statements apart from that
Me- Yes
VO- (after some moment of more vigorous typing) … all I heard was you visa has been approved and hands the white paper
VO- Starts advising that we would meet immigration at POE( after all the talk sha we just said thank you
It really wasn't an easy one but I can only say God did it and through the help of everyone here I was able to learn all the tips and tricks even as My EDD is 2nd week of April.

My best wishes to those awaiting theirs.
