Hello. How were you able to find out/suspect the fraudulent use?

I have a friend in the US who called me some months back asking that she files taxes for my kids since they are US citizens and I will get paid about $1000 or more. I told her no that they dont live in the US so they cant be filing taxes. I knew she was trying to use them as dependents to reduce her tax liability and trying to play on my intelligence.

Now my worry is, she knows my kids names(first names and our surname). Can she use that to get their SSN and file the tax without my consent? How can I check my kids SSN are not in use by anyone (though I have never given anyone their SSN).

I would appreciate responses please.

No one can get the SSN of your kids unless you give it to them secondly it can’t be gotten from just having there full names thirdly bear in mind that after you received there SSN the only way to get another one if anyone even claims them will be going to social security office and you know what that means that the person must be able to prove full guidance by presenting documents like birth certificate that I believe has your name as well as IDs too. So you have nothing to worry

Do it and your children will go to the shelter without you if you tell you can't support them. You, as a foreigner, will be deported back to your country fast and lose your children forever. No accommodation or any help for foreigners. If you insist, you get the accommodation in Immigration jail and you will be send back to your country, your own country should provide any help for you. Nowadays even the legal residents are afraid to apply for any government help because later they are denied the citizenship.

BTW, if you as a tourist overstay your visa and intend to live in US, be sure to have enough money to provide your children good life and to send them to school. If the authorities or neighbors see not suitable living conditions, your children will be taken by Social Services, you can't claim them back because you are NOT a legal resident, you say 1 word, jail and deportation, now with new rules it's fast, deportation express.

Who ever you are if you like be a US citizen or not you lack joy haba

Phew...

I have always wondered if having an American child is really worth it on the long run. I was speaking with my American colleagues and all three of them were just complaining...(these are "privileged" very well educated Americans with good jobs)

Is it even really worth it?

I mean, yes, the passport allows you to travel visa free to many countries but what else?

I never had the whole having a baby in US mindset as to just having the blue passport. It really doesn’t end there. The Average American might complain about taxes, students loans and what have you. But let’s not forget that the part of the world where we come from has virtually nothing to offer it’s unborn citizens. Isn’t it worth it that even after the taxes and all who ever is interested in education gets it at its fullest unlike what is found in our country. These people from the western world who had things all mapped out before they were born have no clue of the struggles of an average African. From getting in a uni and getting a job well befitting for your chosen career part. If I start talking about other things that really matter than just having the passport I’ll never finish. My dear I believe people who go through this journey don’t just do it for the Pali cos that’s the list of it’s advantages.

I read this somewhere : "U.S. Citizen Child – Anchor Child – Born to a B-1/B-2 Tourist Visa Holder: Recently, I had a client call me stating he was called into the U.S. Embassy and his B-1/B-2 tourist visa was cancelled because his wife recently went to the U.S. and had a baby born in the United States. Although he had a business in Guyana and no intent to move or live in the United States, his B-1/B-2 tourist visa was cancelled. The grounds for such cancellation may have been
the fact that the visa holder now has a U.S. citizen immediate relative (child born in the U.S.) and eventually that child (when it reaches age 21) can file a family immigration petition for the visa holder."

How true can this be if there isn’t anything fishy’ that the person involved hasn’t shared. I know giving birth in the US isn’t a new thing by tourist B1B2 visa holders, It’s as old as 1900 sef. Even back in the days people hide their pregnancy entered the US and give birth there with a large number of them not even paying a cent for the medical bills. Which is one of the reasons they now ask you show reciepts of bills if you had a baby there at the POE. Today they still issue medical visas to intended mothers so I doubt if it’s because they had a child in the US that lead to visa cancellation. People should give actual reasons and stop creating unnecessary panic for others

Have you passed your EDD. Hope you are walking around and doing little strollings if you are staying in a building with stirs try walking that too it helps move the baby downwards. I almost got scared too when Baby was too relaxed inside. Dancing too could help. The latter shouldn’t be a problem you could shift your departure.

Morning all please I have a question
My mum has a valid visa already but intended applying for my little sister of 13yrs my question is this
1. While getting a Nigerian passport does she need to wear her uniform or ordinary cloth for the passport photograph that would reflect on her passport.
2. After getting the interview date would she be allowed to enter for the interview with her or she would go alone along side my mums valid visa page
Thanks

[quote author=isysleek post=68687486]Thank you. She has never applied for a US visa. This is her first application.
Can you clarify what you mean by contradicting profile.
Her EDD is end of October so if this new six months rule is true, it means she can't make it.

I meant contradicting profile if she had previously applied for a US visa cos in most casing people tend to fill a different information from the present one. She can still try to see if she can reapply.

[quote author=isysleek post=68660465]Good afternoon all.

My friend had her interview this morning in Abuja and she was denied. Summary of her transcript below:

Her: Good morning
VO: Passport please. Why are you going to the US
Her: To have my baby
VO: why the US
Her: For better health care and US give the opportunity of dual citizenship
VO: How many kids do you have
Her: Two

Your friend seem to have a good profile in terms of travel history and home ties but another thing that should be checked is this has she previously been denied US visa, and hope she dosent have a contradicting profile. If not she could always reapply maybe the VO wasn’t in a good mood and could be luckier with another VO depending on her EDD cos of the new 6months wait time to reapply. My two cents

Wow my dear you are lucky o. Wish you safe delivery and try to finish up all Baby documentation on time in Other not to exceed the 10weeks it’s very obvious the lady is racist. But on the other hand this should serve as an eye opener to Other intending mamas especially those who didn’t get the visa solely for child birth and feel the letter of intent and getting doctors correspondence isn’t necessary. My Aunty was held at that same ORD on 26 April for 4hrs for having 9k dollars despite her son been at Kaplan preparatory.

I’m not quoting anyone or making reference to what anyone has said on this thread. I for one I’m very grateful to the people on this thread to the past and present for the time they devote in bringing their experiences here for people like me to learn from. I had no clue on how to go when I wanted to go on this journey but thank God I stumbled on this thread from google search on how to give birth in USA so back to the issue of if it’s necessary for people to send change of intent?Yes why not if you are aware of it as well as taking supporting documents along because it would be foolish if at the end you are sent back at POE because of that. A friend of my sisters was sent back from LAX in 2017 because she didn’t disclose at the interview and on getting to POE was asked to do a pregnancy test and that was it. I’m sure we all know this might as well work for Someone else and the person may end up scaling through. Cirrently my sis inlaw is battling getting her visa renewed after being denied because she used her b1b2 In 2016 for birthing and didn’t disclose at the embassy. Yes I know most people if not 1% of mamas both on this thread and outside this thread have scaled through without being denied visa after not disclosing childbirth during interviews. As at 2years back getting a B2 visa was assurance that you where safe and could renew without hassles but what’s happening these days. Why I’m I saying all this I believe this visa thing is a very dicey Something once one knows the right part it’s best you follow it because there wouldn’t be an excuse of ignorance even deep done your heart if something goes wrong on your pursuit for a better future for your LO. Secondly it’s not by force,no one on this thread would force you to do what you don’t want. so everyone is free to do as they please moreover we signed up here because we knew we didn’t know it all. I wish everyone success in their various pursuit.

The photo was done in a photo studio, it's a professional passport photo and it's less than 80kb.

I honestly think you should take another one maybe also try with a different cloth.ive had such encounter and when I retook the photo it was ok. Because once the photo dosent match the criteria it would keep rejecting it.

I am filling the DS 160 form and the passport photograph was rejected. The reason given was "Image may contain imperfections due to compression artifacts". Has anyone experienced this? Please let me know how you got around it. Thank you.

If you don’t mind spending another money I’ll advive you go to a photo studio take a professional passport there it would meet the exact criteria. Then tell them you need the soft copy to upload. They should convert it to a lesser than 240kb better still 80kb that way you are going to be able to upload it with no issues.

Seriously it’s very annoying to see agents form they know what they are doing. A lot of them are only interested in the money. That’s how sometime last year a family friend of ours just carried his money and gave to an agent. The agent said he was going to package him. At the day of the interview this man went to the embassy at lagos and was given the white paper. He called every one and was so happy, the funny part is he didn’t disclose what the agent did for him sef. Hubby asked him where the white paper was and he said the agent collected it from him. Shuuu... that was how he didn’t get any email to come collect passport or even call sef. After 3 months we kept asking him what happened if they have contacted him. Na so the guy just open up that the agent did UK visa, Malaysia and one other visa me I can’t even remember. Hubby was like ha that your lucky they didn’t even contact you unless it would have been worse. Please in a much as we all want to travel for one reason or the other let’s be very careful whom we meet for visa consultations. It’s obvious this our family friend has been banned from US and might have problems with UK if he ventures. Moreover most of this agents haven’t even crossed to Ghana sef. I’m a fan of DIY but if we must use agents I prefer you use registered agents who are just there to guide and direct you through the process. Many thanks to everyone who is contributing God bless.

Pls you guys should help me, I’m not directly affected by it’s my best friend and I planned to stay with her at her sisters place in Georgia. Her pregnancy is 1 week ahead of mine im 23weeks, I applied for medical visa last month and declared I’m pregnant and got 2 years multiple entry(I have shared my transcript), ewerview and was denied.

Well from my own view I think your friend is lucky cos she answered yes to the question if she’s pregnant so it won’t be difficult for her to come out clean when she reapply, but should be B2 this time around she should have all the necessary documentation backing medical visa then secondly the question about her sister wasn’t properly answered I feel she should have asked her sister all she needed to know regarding her citizenship in the US and how long she’s been in the US. So when next she should be able to answer all questions regarding her sister and her house hold correct
