ebuka1997: Yes I guess so, they just installed it in 2016 or I guess, they just used this to test it lol Maybe also because of the way the index is weighted, large cap stocks volatility was huge Thanks |

ukay2: Yes Thanks. That means the big caps stocks could have probably played a role for the ASI not to have had a 5% loss. |

lancee: I rem we mentioned something like that when iNYSE mkt crashed around same period ..but NSE own no triggered that time
Was the market down up to 10% that time ..Am not too sure ..oga mi R.onifa , mcy56 etc will know better Exactly, I am not sure too. Just wondering if those full offers then did not take the ASI to a -5% loss for the breaker to be triggered. |

ebuka1997: It’s the rule, when it’s more than 5% the circuit breaker is triggered Okay, that means the loss at March low was not up to 10%
for the circuit breaker to be triggered. |

Mcy56: Yes. Just confirmed from Morgan now. That the break is from NSE for 30min. Dem fear fear with this bull........the fund entering is just too much ..... They said we can connect back in the next 30mins. It should be for all trading houses. What kind of unusual break are they putting in place? Why didn't they put the break when people where losing during the Month of March ? Why now when we are making gains after so much patients? |

If your bank account statement has the same house address you filled with your broker, it can serve as an alternative because that is what I have always used as my utility bill for all my KYC requirement. |

faoogoke: United Capital sent email to all stock account holders saying SEC requires everyone to do KYC afresh except those who did theirs in
the past six months.
Its a general requirement. I updated my account about 3-4 months ago My meristem account has been resolved, it's only Morgan capital that is still suspended. Thanks. |

Zagee: How many KYC do we have to fill with Morgan? I really don't understand this nonsense directive from NSE. It's almost a quarterly thing!!! Did Morgan capital inform you that the suspension has got to do with KYC? I'm also having same issue with my account with meristem and they told me that it's not a problem with them. CSCS is the one that suspended the account of some of their customers and they are waiting for a feedback from them to know the reason for the suspension. |

yMcy56: @Megawealth01 don't go and be too optimistic o. It was said here sometimes when Air.tel was listed that the coy has smaller outstanding shares compared to MTNs. Though MTN will still likely do well but there's the need to check the numbers here.
@Biafran4life @Kintus mentioned up there that the suspension has to do with KYC docs. Seems the timeframe you were supposed to have updated it has elapsed. Procastination things. The account suspension may have nothing to do with KYC update, I updated my account then. I called them and they said it's only a very few percent of their customers that can carry out transaction through their platform currently. Most customers can't transact through their platform and that they are seriously working on it. |

Concerning the protest, you're very correct Ma, though we don't pray that it turns violent but cautious trading is adviced and more importantly, individuals should re-align with his/her investment objectives.

Mcy56: Contrary to some people's expectations that prices will fall, most stocks are still holding on to their prices while some are even appreciating. It is well. E Ku Market o. Welcome back madam, hope you are doing better now? In addition to your point on share prices not falling but rising, I think investors especially the short-termers have to be cautious. If the protest becomes more violent before the end of the week, the economy may be negatively impacted as well as the stock market. |

ojesymsym: Oga Emma, do you think the stock market will allow the bears take over in the light of these economic uncertainties?
Transatlantic, what direction is the dollar likely to go? These are the productive discussions I was expecting us to be engaged in-The impact of the protest on the economy. Pls house, let's not get too distracted by discussing only politics. We should also be engaged on the impact on our investment so as to make an informed decision. Thanks Concerning your questions, I think it will have a negative impact if the protesters don't stay focused on the goals and objectives of the protest and making the right demands such as: -better governance -making politicians accountable -reducing the cost of governance -improving the economic conditions of Nigerians and creating the right environment for investors -etc |
