It is not everything said by Oracle I follow but I also use my wisdom to pick the key info in his posts.oracle and oyinbo people have something in common and I guess he is being paid for his services.oracle never said anything that is not genuine but be careful not to be a prey to his traps.

I am still 100% in cash now.still watching the next phase of market.10 to 20% is still my new entry target.

I think you can make your point without attacking his personality. The bolded is a very serious accusation if you don't have proofs.

Please, let's not discourage selfless people on this forum with careless statements. Thanks

no shares is long term I want to do. That's why I want advice on what promising shares at low price below that I can buy

I want clarification on your question, are you saying that you have decided to invest long-term and no more short-term plan?. If you are planning long-term, my earlier can still be considered.

We have Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Corporation, I don't know what they do.

This company can be allowed by legislature to give loans to workers and place a lien on the Retirement Savings of the workers for home acquisition.

That should not be the duty of the pension fund managers

Their own is to invest in risk free financial instruments and derivatives

That is another angle to it sir! That is why I ealier wrote that there can be an innovative way of making it to work based on an alliance or parnership from all stakeholders, including the federal government, and legislature.

They can't go into that, pension fund managers are portfolio Investors. They won't handle property, they Invest in financial instruments.

Professionals, practitioners in the housing and real estate sector, SEC and the investing public should come together and create a financial instruments for mortgage and properties, you will be surprised that the pension fund managers will invest in such instruments.

I think the government and legislators can come up laws to see how such parnership can work out for the good of not just only the workers but a means of job creating for builders , civic engineers, electricians etc .

Less than 10%.
If government makes that mistake, many ventures like MMM will open up and collect those money from the so called investment savvy people who want to control their money.
I have had this kind of argument before and I tell the people to invest the remaining part of their income if they believe they are so good in investment. A lot of people can't wait to have assess to that money so that they can blow it up in smoke in the name of making investments.

Alternatively, I think the government and the pension fund managers need to be innovative and bring in changes on how to invest the pension fund.

In addition to the high risk, low and medium risk options available for workers to choose from, they should find a way of incorperating housing Plan.

There is a massive gap in housing in Nigeria. They can partner with big and experienced estate managers to build large numbers of houses between 3M-10M or above depending on the workers' salary in addition to using the compulsory National housing fund money they remove from workers' salary monthly.

Let the houses be in form of a mortgage to interested workers at a good rate spread for some years say 10-30yrs period. At the time of retirement, the value of the house would have beaten inflation and the worker would have been relieved from the burden of owning a house.

They just deduct money monthly for National Housing Fund without workers benefitting from owning a house and no accountability on how this fund is spent. These are some Important bills the legislators are supposed to be passing at the national level!

Oh didn't realize its a new kid in the block. I believe they are an old cement company. TA people are mostly JIJO, I was looking at it from a long term point of view.

Abeg anyone who can throw some light on this stock is welcomed. I assure you, you will not be held responsible for whatever decision is made from your analysis.

anjilgreat, What do you say about BUACement?

I may not be in the best position to give an opinion on BUA cement based on my personal bias on investment in companies were the owners control majority of shares. So many analysis have been done here in the past on the stock so you will have to refer back to them and make your decision based on your investment plan.

Their recent released result and declared dividend shows that they are moving in the right direction. But I still think their shares price is overpriced. Just follow your intuition on the stock, the market has a mind of it's own.

thank you, Anjil, planning short term, but want to stash the little remaining in Zenith, being seeing their yields returns, it's fantastic. How do I go about that of Zenith?

Although Zenith is still a good buy at current price, you may probably enter at any slight pull-back. Since you are going short-term, you have to closely monitor it's upward movement especially in this period of bull and sell at your targeted exit price.

They had a very good marketing team operating all over Lagos and some parts of the country.

I saved my account officer at UBA from committing 500k lump sum investment to them in 2006

You are right, really good marketing team that came from Lagos to our corpers lodge to encourage us to invest and one of my mentors even told me to invest then.

My only relief is that I didn't invest all the money I had then into their investment, I diverted some money into the stock market because of my Dad who wanted to buy some shares for me and I gave him the extra money I had saved to get some more.

I honestly thought I was diversifying my investment then by investing in a SEC regulated fund. Lesson learnt, It is well!

@anjilgreat just forget about that investment and those guys. Count it as one of your costly mistakes and move on. Don't stop investing. Now that you are better informed I guess, always think Safety of your funds first before any promised returns or gains. Yes investment involves risk but never take the risk of investing with an investment house that is not SEC regulated to avoid the story that touch.

Thanks you very much. I was investing in the stock market before then and I wanted to diversify in something like a Mutual fund and thought that it would be an alternative because a financial mentor advised me to. It is well!

I saved a lot of people from committing funds to them in 2006, when I found out that they were not licensed by SEC to manage funds and the products marketed were not registered by the regulatory body.

Sorry about your loss, in no distant future we should expect a repeat of this. Especially from people who wanted easy money, without asking the right questions and carrying out their due diligence

Wow!, you mean they have folded up? Based on the information shared with us then, they invested most of my fund in access bank shares.

The funniest thing is that I also diverted some of my savings then into some stocks which I still have till date, if only I invested all my funds by myself then. Thank you sir for the information.

Thank you so much for the information + advise. I have been following the thread for over a year but limited to only TB and fixed DP.

It was in mid-March I made up my mind to start trading stock. Though, with a meagre amount on chaka, unfortunately I got my hands burnt with their unnecessary charges. I ended up creating an account with Morgan but the "cash is king" slogan confused me as a newbie. I ended up not investing a dime because I was hoping to join the bus at the best of bottom.

On your question about stock knowledge, let me rate myself at 5/10. I know I have a lot to learn. I plan to learn more while trading. Hence the need to have a mentor.

Thank you for suggestions about the short and long term stock. I'll keep my eyes on them to see their direction and probably decide when I see a good entry price.

#StaySafeHome

Good luck!. Pls always remember to have a strategy.

Save, invest and buy assets.

N4000 invested in money market fund that grew at 10% from 1982 to date would have grown to N150,000 if allowed to compound. You will be getting an annual interest of N15,000 in 2020

N4000 invested in low cost housing estates of Jakande in 1982 would have grown to about N5 million in 2020. Generating rental income of about 300k

N4000 invested in dollars in 1982 would have grown to over N2 million in 2020.

I don't have the capitalisation history of Nestle from 1982, but N100,000 invested in 1999 has grown to over N8 million in 2020, getting a dividend of 400k from the investment.

If you are diversified and have invested in capital appreciating and income generating assets, you will do well even in the midst of inflation and currency devaluation

Good morning sir, this your post just reminded me of an investment I made in 2007 with AIMS Asset Portfolio Management as a Youth Corper.

My aim was to invest the money for ten years, but since the ten years elapsed 3 years ago, I'm yet to get any useful information abt the company. Even the numbers on the company's receipt given to me are not going through and no useful information online. Pls, do you have any idea of this company?

Pls anybody here with any useful information abt AIMS Asset Portfolio Management can share with me. Thanks in anticipation.

Please Sir, what stock can someone invest in this period.

Investment plan is:

1). Short term: N1M
To be rolled over, let's say weekly or bi-weekly

2). Long term: N500k
Considering at least one year. Also, it has to be a dividend paying stock + capital appreciation.

If only you had this Plan at March low, you would have been smiling now! You can see that most people will not recommend stocks now because they bought low then and the ideas that even if they recommended or adviced on some stocks, Investors trade blames without taking personal responsibility for buying such stocks or heeding to such advice if things go wrong.

I hope you already have fundamental knowledge of the stock market and you are diversified in other Investment such as MMFund, Treasury Bills and Others? If not, I'll advice you to take 1/3rd-1/2 of your fund there depending on your risk appettite.

Well, let me tell you what I'll do if I'm in your current position based on :
1. Short-term to medium-term: FCMB or Fidelity #1.70- #1.75, Wema Bank (#0.54-#0.58), Access Bank or UBA #6.50 or less ; FBNH #5 or less, Dangcem #145-#150-: they declared a dividend of #16, while qualification date is next week. I know of someone that bought as high as #170 and was able to average down to #154

2. Long-term: MTNN #108-#112, WAPCO #10.70-#11, Zenith or GTB at their pull - back prices

Note: Pls do your due dilligence, you are the CEO of your portfolio and therfore responsible for any Investment decision you take!

An interim dividend of N2.50k was paid about 6 months ago

The growth curve has reduced for MTN, more like an income business that will give you steady income. But I can see growth in the mobile banking business, they just got a license from CBN for that. The business will continue to make money during this lockdown, a lot of people are working from home and they need data

The exponential growth was enjoyed by the pioneer Investors who invested about 20 years ago, when GSM business was a virgin area in Nigeria

You are right sir. Although I bought at a lower rate @#95, I'll just ride on the Capital appreciation for now!

Has about 50 million units, dividend of about N250 million after withholding tax

But I think MTNN needs to seriously improve on their future dividends to investor from the #4.97 they paid based on the price of a unit of their shares.

I received my dividend yesterday but I had a better return in GTB, Zenith, UBA, UCAP and some Others. Even Dangcem will pay me a better dividend of #16.00 per share in two weeks time.
