Toks2008: Ofcourse every country has the right to grant or refuse visas but the process should be a viable one and not the way it is presently done on the case of America visa. Is there an international law that you know of which obliges them to make the process "a viable one", whatever that means |

No country would open its borders down for immigrants to come and spoil things. As at today, far right parties are gaining momentum in impending EU elections. Just start praying the US migration policy has hiccups cos if it succeeds, its game over.
Maybe when they force Nigerians to sit back in Nigeria, we would stop electing idiots like Fayose, Ikpeazu and Yaya Bello. Oga, you sabi wetin dey happen. cooltola: We are not even close to the criminal activities some nationals of Russia, Italy, China, eastern European countries have done and yet they still get visas easier than Nigerian. Our yahoo is at a very amateur and keeping saying that it has to do with our skin color. It is not as if when you enter such countries they treat Nigerians well. As a Nigerian, you have to work twice or four times harder than the average national to even get a decent job. I keep praying that God will deliver Nigeria How does the economy of those listed countries compare to that of Nigeria What percentage of their population is desperate to get out and stay put in saner climes that are not fantastically corrupt shittyholes? Do you know or can you even guess? Gerrard59: A staff in Nigeria's highest paying oil firm (an industry which pays the highest nationwide) relocates to Canada? nonxo007: Well I agree with you on this, but still the US government still has the right to grant visa to whom so ever they deem right to enter their country. And screening of document I think is a must It is good that you said that you think and not that you know. What compels a house owner to even check out who you are when you knock at his door, asking to enter Do you understand what you are talking about? |

300wayne: This and many others is what we Nigerians have to deal with because of the bad image some people have given us........if things don't change in the next decade we might have to deal with more stringent measures not only from the USA but even from Chad and Niger ...........including our president Nigeria's president has warned his fellow citizens to stop trying to make asylum claims in Britain, saying that their reputation for criminality has made it hard for them to be "accepted" abroad.
Muhammadu Buhari, the tough ex-general elected last year, said those who had joined the migrant exodus to Europe were doing so purely for economic reasons rather than because they were in danger.
He added that because of the number of Nigerians imprisoned for law-breaking in Britain and elsewhere, they were also unlikely to get much sympathy.
"We have an image problem abroad and we are on our way to salvage that"
"Some Nigerians claim is that life is too difficult back home, but they have also made it difficult for Europeans and Americans to accept them because of the number of Nigerians in prisons all over the world accused of drug trafficking or human trafficking," he told The Telegraph.
"I don't think Nigerians have anybody to blame. They can remain at home, where their services are required to rebuild the country."

OAUTemitayo: Read below. Don't just comment. Think before you post In furtherance of this arms deal, it is alleged that in June 2014, Dolarian executed sales contracts with Societe D’Equipments Internationaux (SEI), a French arms brokering company acting on behalf of Nigeria, for the purchase and transfer of high‑explosive bombs, rockets, military-grade firearms, and aircraft-mounted cannons worth more than $8.5 million. Dolarian submitted a brokering application with the U.S. State Department in June 2014 for the proposed deal with Nigeria. This brokering application, along with a later one, was never approved by the State Department. Without approval from the State Department, Dolarian allegedly accepted approximately $8.3 million from Nigeria and its broker, SEI. These funds were, in part, funneled by Nigeria through a purported furniture company in Hong Kong. Then they were routed through numerous shell accounts held by Dolarian, and others. Soon after obtaining the funds, Dolarian used them to pay off personal expenses, such as federal and state tax debts, and to buy a BMW SUV. In February 2015, the federal government seized over $6 million that remained in Dolarian’s accounts. Civil forfeiture proceedings related to that seizure are currently pending (Case No. 1:15-cv-954-DAD). “Homeland Security Investigations’ (HSI) national security priorities include the investigation of violations of the arms export and money laundering control laws of the United States,” said Ryan L. Spradlin, HSI Special Agent in Charge. “Illegal arms brokering represents a threat, not only to U.S. national security, but to the security of the international community.” This case is the product of an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations. This matter is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Grant B. Rabenn and Jeffrey Spivak, and Department of Justice Trial Attorney Christian Ford of the National Security Division’s Counterintelligence and Expert Control Section. Are you saying that it is not terrible news with our country linked to it or why is it on nairaland Do you mind explaining? Thanks. |

Xisnin: So what? When dumb Obama banned Nigeria from getting arms, it is expected that we patronize the black market. It was part of a grand scheme to force the lifeless crook of a Bubu on us by Obama and his campaign strategists. adegunwa4real: A United States-based political strategy firm, AKPD Message and Media, engaged by the opposition All Progressives Congress to improve its electoral fortunes is still active, SUNDAY PUNCH has learnt.
It was gathered in Abuja on Friday that the Chicago-based firm has been behind several of the party’s campaign messages and strategy.
The firm is best known for its leading role in President Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012.
AKPD Message and Media is known to have worked with key Democratic Party candidates throughout the US.
It has also earned a reputation for supporting leading populist movements across the globe.
The APC had at the beginning of its contract, stated that, “we shall leverage on the firm’s skill, experience and expertise throughout the upcoming campaign cycle.’’
According to the party, the company’s track record could be seen in political climate similar to Nigeria’s, including Kenya, Tanzania and Ghana.
It said the partnership with the firm was an indication that the process of change in Nigeria had already begun and would not be stopped
A highly placed member of the APC, who pleaded anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the media, explained that the firm is working behind the scene.
The source said, “They have been doing their work; they were involved in surveys and polls, looking at areas of our strengths and weaknesses, and advising on measures to be taken to consolidate on our gains.
“They are helping to guide our campaigns to address our needs and we are getting value for our investments.”
When contacted, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Lai Mohammed, told SUNDAY PUNCH that, “They (the firm) are political consultants; they are still with us.
“I believe they will remain with us till we win the elections. I don’t think the contract is out.”
Meanwhile, the US Government has said it is assisting the Federal Government and the Independent National Electoral Commission in providing adequate security for the February general elections.
The US stated that an American election security expert had visited Nigeria sometime in 2014.

AngelicBeing: No, leadership ought to evolve / come from ordinary people in all the countries especially in Africa / Nigeria but unfortunately in Africa/ Nigeria, the right people were not choosen / elected but rather selected via egunje given to the electorate like the bag of rice you posted few days ago given to a woman before the selection, as a result of the wrong selection of thieves in power, Nigeria is crawling on the floor like a toddler since 1960, any father that has a baby crawling since 1960 should be worried, don't you think so I guess that it is what the people want then. They want the thieves as leaders, maybe because they are also thieves |

AngelicBeing: The answer is simple, it is not about the skin color of a race but it is a question of failed leadership structure that permeates almost all African countries because the demon of looting, robbing, stealing, egunje, corruption, wickedness, ritualism, ineptitude, is headquartered in Africa albeit the black race and until that demon is exorcised via pragmatic, visionary and effective leadership, the black race is doomed Are you suggesting that the leadership is made of aliens i.e. non Africans who were not previously ordinary folks until others allowed them to lead and remain leaders until they are tired of their leadership I hope that you don't mind my many questions. |
