Anambra International Convention Center, Awka Nears Completion
By Ejike Abana (ABS Government House Correspondent)
Finishing touches at the Anambra International Convention, Awka, one of the legacy projects of Governor Willie Obiano-led administration, is ninety percent complete.
The hint was dropped when Governor Obiano paid an inspection visit to the site, accompanied by some traditional rulers, led by the Chairman of the South East Tradional Rulers' Council, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe.
The Commissioner for Housing, Architect Michale Okonkwo and the Contractor, Mr. Mark Tu were on ground to recieve and conduct the Governor round the facility.
A renowned Awka stakeholder and former Special Adviser on Inter-Party Affairs, Chief Ben Ndi-Obi, also joined the Governor for the inspection.
On arrival, it was observed that installation of the cooling systems, chairs, sound system, curtains, among other finishing touches were ongoing at the project.
With the notable differences observed, commissioning of the project should be anticipated sooner than expected.

Senate approves new law school for Anambra. The site for construction of the law school is Okija. Okija is very suitable because it has ample landmass coupled with numerous universities both private and public. It also has the new Loyola Jesuit college there. The Senate has approved the establishment of six new campuses of the Nigerian Law School across the six geopolitical zones of the country, in addition to the existing seven.
The 13 schools exclude that of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Smart Adeyemi, sponsored the bill.
Approval of the new law schools followed the consideration and adoption of a report by the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters on the Legal Education Act (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
Accordingly, the Senate approved the Jos Law School Campus, Plateau State; and Kabba Law School Campus, Kogi State for the North-Central geopolitical zone.
The chamber also gave the nod for the Yola Law School Campus, Adamawa State; and Maiduguri Law School Campus, Borno State to serve the North-East zone.
In the North-West, the Senate approved the Kano Law School Campus, Kano State; and Argungu Law School Campus, Kebbi State.
In the South-East, the chamber gave approval for the Enugu Law School Campus, Enugu State; and Okija Law School Campus, Anambra State.
The Senate also approved the Yenagoa Law School Campus, Bayelsa State; Port Harcourt Law School Campus, Rivers State; and Orogun Law School Campus, Delta State for the South-South zone.
In the South-West, the chamber approved the Lagos Law School Campus, Lagos State; and Ilawe Law School Campus, Ekiti State.
Chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, said creation of the six law schools was a legislative intervention to address “the exponential increase in the number of law graduates from our universities and foreign ones, coupled with the backlog that existed over the years.”
Bamidele added that the “existing campuses are overstretched and the infrastructures are not enough to accommodate thousands of law students graduating from the universities.”
The senator observed that the United States of America, with a population of over 350 million people, has about 237 law schools.
The lawmaker noted that some countries such as Canada and Australia, with far fewer population than Nigeria, have 24 and 38 law schools for a population of about 38 million and 26 million people, respectively
Bamidele explained that the provision for additional campuses in the six geopolitical zones of the federation was appropriate as it does not tamper with the seven existing campuses established by administrative responsibilities of the Council of Legal Education
The lawmaker, therefore, advised the Federal Government to, as a matter of priority, provide adequate resources for the funding of the Infrastructural needs of the law campuses across the country https://punchng.com/senate-approves-establishment-of-six-new-law-school-campuses

He noted that the airline’s brand new Embraer 195-E2 and Boeing 737 aircraft, with more passenger capacity, would be deployed on the route, adding that frequency had been increased to daily flights for Anambra. “This new development means more flight availability for passengers flying the route, which is reflective of the airline’s resolve to ease the burden of air travel in the country. https://thenationonlineng.net/air-peace-deploys-two-new-aircraft-on-anambra-route/

I stay in Awka too, there are well paved roads and beautiful flyovers. Anambra generally has the best road networks. Soludo will take it a notch higher Privatepart00: Nobody is talking about propaganda here . I stay in Awka , I know how I kept hissing when driving past the roads in and out of Okpuno. I passed through VIO office and Roban while returning last year because of the Mobil fueling station that was in flames close to tempsite on 23/12/2021 . Anambra has the best road network? Same roads I passed through while heading to Ekwulobia my hometown or the ones that lead to Nnewi ? . Roads in Anambra State is very bad . We should try to be honest . Soludo need to fix those roads , not forgetting the Nanka own leading to Ekwulobia roundabout after Globis and Eastern Mass transit park . You people think everyone is an outsider for pointing out the facts. |

Una no dey tire for propaganda. These are some of the inner city roads in Awka. There are well paved roads and flyovers in Awka, infact Anambra has the best road networks Privatepart00: But Udele1 is right when he said there’s no road in the Awka town apart from the express own. Even the priest said same during the Christmas vigil mass at Pope John Paul the Second Major Seminary Okpuno Awka. The roads in and out of Awka are very bad . Don’t even talk about the one leading to tempsite or the one cutting across Roban stores and St John hotels Okpuno very bad . The priest said let’s be enjoying the lightning he did on the three flyovers via Christmas decorations. We hope Soludo will do better in fixing those roads. Cc:

Anambra Convention Center To Host Professor Soludo's Swearing-In Ceremony- Governor Obiano
By Ejike Abana (ABS Government House Correspondent)
Anambra Convention Center, Awka, another legacy project of Governor Willie Obiano's administration is being positioned as venue to host the swearing-in ceremony of the Governor-Elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
Governor Obiano stated this today, 3rd January, 2022, during an inspection visit to the project.
He embarked on the visit with some cabinet members of the Traditional Ruler of Aguleri.
While noting that his motivation for the architectural design of the project is the popular 'American Still Jet' which moves silently, Governor Obiano explained that it is one of the best in the American military arsenal, expressing his belief that it is replica of an average onye Anambra.
The Governor projected that with the airport in place, the Center will be viable and put to use all year round, saying that he believes that the contractor is competent enough to deliver on the project.
Speaking on his maintainance and sustainability plans for the project, Governor Obiano hinted that the contractor will be as facility managers to be maintaining the place, because according to him, it is the only way it will last, just like the airport and stadium.
The Contractor of the project, Mr. Mark Tu who explained that the center has a seating capacity of between ten thousand and twelve thousand persons at once, explained that they are rounding off the ceiling and lighting work and about to commence the final painting for the building.

So one isolated hotel somewhere now has become all of Abeokuta? Ogun State is a backward jungle littered with mud houses. Stop crying in this thread, because Anambra not on the same low level as Ogun state forgiveness: Now, I know you are an imposter.
The best hospital in Nigeria is in Abeokuta.

How can you know Abeokuta mall is located in Abeokuta city center?
Stop lying. You don’t know Abeokuta. Besides, I said Ogun State is more developed than Anambra State. Stop trying to twist my word. Compare and contrast. Nnewi is more decently developed than Abeokuta.

Hahaha Where are the quality infrastructures in Ogun? Start showing us pictures. Abeokuta is a village. Nnewi is more decently developed than Abeokuta. It is very clear in the pictures forgiveness: Development has to do with the quality infrastructure provided in a city or state. Infrastructure is divided into two. Hard infrastructure which refers to road, railway, bridges, etc and soft infrastructures which refers to services to maintain the economic, health and social standards of a population. Let start with hard infrastructures, Ogun State has more bridges, more tiled roads, more highways, railway system, tunnels etc than Anambra State. Moving to soft infrastructures. How many stadium, university, 5 star hotels, bridges, top hospitals, golf course, Polo course, international secondary schools, recreational centers, eateries, malls, do you have in Anambra State compared to Ogun State? List all your have in Anambra State.

Born2conquer: Brother stop arguing blindly, the government is not paying to defend what is not.
What is in Abeokuta apart from the few good roads?? Just mention the things we are proud of in Abeokuta apart from fly over and pedestrian bridge in panseke, dominos in Panseke, royal mandarin in Ibara and opic 10 storey building?? What else is in Abeokuta??
Abeokuta is a rural area and they’re all right, we are still clinching too hard on the Stone Age, 60% of the houses in Abeokuta were build in the 70s,80s and there’s no sign of any development ever taking place soon because there’s no planning to cover it.
30% of the houses were uner built, houses owned by civil servants, artisans who mostly build 3 bedroom bungalow, face me and slap you, uncompleted buildings which take years to finish and most can’t even afford to build such houses in the main city, they buy lands in the bush, far from civilization.
While the 10% live in estates owned by the government, the GRAs, people who are mostly OGAs in government parastatals.
So how are you comparing Abeokuta to a fully industrialised states?? These anambara and co have billionaires that do not rely on government and the average igbo man wanna build a house in his state!
While the successful yoruba man want to relocate from his state to lagos island before leaving the country finally, so who will develop the states in south west?

Stop posting long nonsense. Pictures speaks a thousand words. Nnewi is more decently developed than Abeokuta. Abeokuta is a glorified village, stop embarrassing yourself. It is an insult to compare Ogun state that's filled with mud houses to Anambra that's filled with beautiful modern houses. Ogun state is still in the stone age forgiveness: Development has to do with the quality infrastructure provided in a city or state. Infrastructure is divided into two.
