When there is life, there is hope. Few years back, poverty was slowly snuffing his life out. Now good luck is permanently smiling at him (at least while he is still alive). I must say thank you Mr president for this kind gesture.

I commend NUC for always sanitizing the university education system of this country. similar measure will never happen in some countries in West Africa where they encourage mushroom/secondary school grade universities.

spicyv1:

Even when proper measures have been taken? And a clear MOU drawn up?
MOU can be circumvented, Lawyer(s) can become partisan and a partner can be assasinated. From what I have seen and heard, I cannot do partnership with anyone. It is either sole proprietorship or I buy stocks of a PLC.
Business / Re: How To Have Successful Business Partnerships? by Anthrophile(m): 7:03am On Sep 16, 2014
Partnership in business is very good for the hawkish partner but bad for the dovish one. One may not know who is who in the pioneering period of the business but when the venture becomes prosperous, A partner will want to take all the stake.

I have been following this thread silently for a long time and must commend all who has been contributing in one way or another. It is true NIS needs more personnel. Let us not forget that former CG Rose Uzoma lost her post because of the way the recruitment was handled during her tenure. Paradang and Moro said soon so let us be hopeful and prayerful. I strongly believe the NIS recruitment is one of those aces GEJ will use to his advantage. Some APC states are already using job offers to woo voters.
Culture / Re: Do African Americans Have A Culture? by Anthrophile(m): 9:24am On Sep 09, 2014
If your definition of African American culture includes Ebonics, Rastafarianism, Kwanzaa, Calypso, Jazz, Rap, Hip Hop, Reggae, Street Dance and Cake Walks, African American cuisine, Black sororities and fraternities, Pan African colour code of red, yellow and green ; then I believe they have.

Now officially telling us what had started a long time ago. I envisage wire taping or phone bugging extending from criminal suspects to political opponents, opposition party members, business rivals and people seen as potential threats. Whoever pays will be offered the service.

Women must be seen, not heard. paint it red with your actions and never in your words. You will save yourself some embarrassment if the feedback is negative and you will at least be able to say he'd just misinterpreted your actions.

16 years? They said something like that to justify a billion dollar loan. They claimed Nigerian security apparatuses had not acquired new weapons in 25 years. They will give any excuse to justify their inability to deliver. It is true that Nigeria has many challenges: power, insecurity, unemployment, etc ; It will make sense if Jonathan's administration is remembered to solve one of Nigeria's challenges considerably.

While Britain handed over power (political, economic and military), completely to former colonies at independence; France is still subjugating hers till this very day. Vital decisions of her former colonies are taken from Paris. One of the many sad facts slowing the implementation of the Eco currency in ECOWAS countries. The British are truly liberal minded.

Romance / Re: Why Readers, Scientifically, Are The Best People To Fall In Love With by Anthrophile(m): 9:46pm On Jul 17, 2014
LarrySun: Which came first: The chicken or the egg?

If readers are the best people to fall in love with, what about writers?

Now, who wrote the first scroll? The writer or the reader? (Reference to my first question above)
None of the above ! It is the thinker. The thinker wants to immortalise his/her choice thoughts and experiences by becoming a writer. Another thihker wants to enrich his/her thoughts and experiences by becoming a reader.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Giant Nigerian Snails Seized And Destroyed At Los Angeles Airport. by Anthrophile(m): 1:16pm On Jul 17, 2014
It was not labelled properly that was why the LA authorities took precautions. At least the consignment could have borne the name, address and other details of the farm, if they were farmed snails and a paper from a professional body like the veterinary association certifying the snails pathogen free. Who knows if the snails were picked from the forest and could be pathogenic. Dengue was transported from Mexico like that some years back due to lack of precaution.

Family / Re: Successful Career Women Can't Have It All - Pepsi CEO, Indra Nooyi by Anthrophile(m): 7:44pm On Jul 05, 2014
A place for everything is everything in place. I believe a woman can have a brilliant career and an enviable family. It all depends on an understanding husband and a wife that won't get puffed up at the sight of success. Also, not forgeting the "G" factor - God factor. Beside, I don't expect a man who marries a career woman to shun cooking his meals atimes or at least hire a cook to prepare meals when wife's at work. Also, a career woman oughtn't spend her dough alone.
