Politics / Re: “I Won’t Kill The Naira” President Buhari Reject Devaluation Again by Antoinne: 4:08am On Jan 29, 2016
mistarsam:
AS IF HE UNDERSTANDS THE MEANING OF DEVALUATION SEF
From his statement, he clearly does. The chief benefit of devaluation is that it makes your exports cheaper. For a country like Nigeria that exports very little, there's really not many other positives to it, especially for the man on the street. If Naira is devalued, thing will generally become way more expensive, especially in a Nigerian market that is heavily dependent on imports. By not giving BDCs any more foreign exhchange, critical monies can be saved for national development. The elites have eaten too deep into Nigeria's pockets and it's time to stop.

While Nigeria's economy may not look so bright at the moment, this current president seems passionate enough to put in place measures that may assure a brighter outlook for the future. I trust him.

Not surprising. Nigerians would even find the worst looking oyinbo cute. Years of TV has done its damage.

Programmed to find white beautiful, it's no strange thing to see most comments here screaming "cute, cute, cute".

ramalot:

It is so sad how cheating, corruption, zero integrity and general non-accountability is part of the Nigerian DNA.

Simultaneously most religious country and most corrupt (even at individual level) is a funny paradox.
Very sad. And everyone has become part of it. It's almost like you can't get by without being corrupt.

* I told the officials that a flash drive will cost 1000 per piecewe negotiated to around 900 and something I can't recall. However on the receipt I signed that eache flash drive were N1300 / Piece

* We budgeted for 16Gig, the person who gave me the contract ask me to mix 16Gig with 4 Gig and we cut the other money. I had no choice. I even went ahead to make 16Gig only 20Pieces and mix 8 Gig and 4Gig all together.

* I told them Samsung chip glad drive better than Toshiba and expensive than Toshiba by N40Naira. I was paid for Samsung.
But I imported Toshiba and ate the N40 naira each. There was no way of verifying. Don't blame me. Blame the assistant who granted me the Job.

I admire your business ideas, but I honestly didn't like this. I'd like to get in touch with you though to discuss.

When did Nigerians become like this? When did we become so intolerant that we must see scheming, cunny, sly or treacherous in everything? What in the world is wrong with this? angry

Yes it had the name of the studio written at the back, it can either be written or stamped. Just go to any studio and give them the specifications.
Hello Zandora,

I have been examining this Express Entry thing a while now, and all my realization is that as a single guy I'm only qualified for a maximum of 600points after looking through all the requirements and the point system. How easy is it for a single person to qualify? And how in the world can one nick 450points out of that 600?

I don't understand that repeated establishment line that Russia is aggressive. The US seems more like the aggressor to me, and you'll never find western journalists peddle this about. There's still the US bombing of an innocent hospital in Kunduz to pay for, yet no one seems to be talking.

Travel / Re: Anyone Tired Or Bored Of Living In A Western Country, by Antoinne: 5:58am On Oct 20, 2015
Goldenboy007:
I would always say - these Western countries are not paradise but compared to where we are coming from - it's heaven. I had a very good telecom job in Nigeria so I was comfortable but it's 1 out every 50 graduates that have such opportunities, the chances that your kids would be as fortunate are slim. I do not want my unborn kids to go through same thing I went through. Let them have a go at being world class and not local champions, so if this "Yankee life" is what I have to endure to give them such life, so be it. I am not planning kids to be an insurance for old age, my 401k and other Nigerian investments would take care of that, I can't be selfish - I have had my chances living an independent good life, they have their lives ahead of them too, let them enjoy it too. If it is US or UK life for them; fine !!! If it's Nigeria they would love; fine !!! However sentimentally I would love to spend my old age and die in my homeland but that's me !!!
If you are legally in the US you will be financially fine, except you are lazy then you won't "make it". In just very few years of relocating, my networth (assets and investments)have increased 10x of what I perceived as my comfortable status in Nigeria. If you have the opportunity please don't let PDP and APC politicians decide the fate of your kids because their kids are not even in the country!!!

I really have to say I couldn't agree less with your post. I also plan to have my kids in the US. Let them have a US citizenship, and then decide for themselves if they want to spend the rest of their lives in their home country or in the US as an international citizen.
