Rukkydelta: About 2 years back I was an active member of romance section, then when tosyne2much was the god of 10 lists (the good old days) before I took some time off from romanceland and yeah I do visit nairaland but wasn't positing.
I have notice that the bad blood in romance section has increased so far. Gender war here is at it's peak. The opposite gender lashing out at each other with the male gender being the highest when it comes to bashing their opposite gender due to fact that there are more population of males in this forum. But before you let all these get into your head, I want to let you know somethings:
•Most of the trolls here don't have a life outside this platform so don't loose yourself because of them. •There are good men and women out there don't let the trolls and sexists here makes you see the opposite genders as toxic, golddiggers, promiscuous, useless, misandrist/mysognists and selfish
Some of the acclaimed sexists here that backlash the opposite gender here are the ones even begging that boy/girl in their hood. And being oppressed in their relationship. Don't let their fake tough and ruthless acts here deceive you
Romance section almost change me to a sexist before I left.
Finally stop seeking for relationship advise on nairaland if you love yourself because 80% of the advise you will get is just off point, the trolls and sexists here can even make you to start having thoughts about your partner that isn't true. The remaining 20% good advise will get covered by negativity.
If you now have the feeling of hate towards the opposite gender please take a break of this section. Or simply logout your nairaland account. You ruthless ming here as a guest if you want to
Please don't let people that have nothing good in life to ruin others. You are a Nigerian living in Nigeria and you will certainly encounter the nigerian opposite gender in your day to day life. A word is enough for the wise. Including your advise |

Iloveu2: Apination, I believe that our differences in the point of views are more differences of emphasis rather than fundamental.
The discussion ultimately boils down to one question — do we, humans, learn everything from experience or are we born equipped with some form of innate knowledge?
Use mathematics as an example, is it holistically based on human experience without mental processes with originality of formulas. You get stuff springing out of your mind in some cases. Stuffs you were never taught before and then you say, see. I arrived at this. That's a terrible analogy to give. I don't have things springing out of my head when fazed with any mathematical problem. You are making subjective statements and calling them statements of fact as though there's any data to back it up. In any intellectual discourse, you work with established data not what you think. |

Iloveu2: And except a baby is beaten they do not cry,?! Are you turning a blind eye to the simple fact that babies cry without being beaten and even more so because the seek attention. Don't be selective in your analysis by being divergent from the fact that IT IS NOT ONLY WHEN A BABY IS BEATEN THAT A BABY CRIES.
Even science does not start with a proof, it starts with a general statement called hypothesis which in this case unless you love to argue blind will you disprove that babies do cry to get attention for their need. It seems you are forgetting you're the one who said babies cry because they need attention. I only gave a different scenario and you trying to analyse it, that's really poor dude. Don't make assertions you cannot follow through with. I don't need to disprove anything, you are already doing that by yourself. From the first paragraph you said that babies could cry for divergent reasons and ended the second paragraph conflicting that claim saying babies do cry to get attention for their need. Which one should we take? |

whitelotus: That is a convoluted argument. The only thing that all atheists agree on is their disbelief in god.
How a disbelief is now a belief system is beyond me There's a difference between disbelief and a lack of belief. Theism and atheism are but two sides of a coin, heads and tail. Although but are on opposite sides but they make up the coin, you can call one a belief system and claim the other is not. |

I stopped disclosing my identity when people started avoiding me in school. One time last month, a guy called me a lost soul. I laff sha. Can't someone practice what he believes in peace? Nigerian Christians are the highest hypocrites in this world.. No Muslim will look at you like a demon when you tell them your belief... Iloveu2: Knowledge indeed is as well instinctive, it's something you know from the inside, very much a genetical programming and not a biological function because of the cognitive system involved in such action, which emanates from the mind. Bro. Please stop using terminologies you don't understand. You can You are putting up one faulty argument after another. There's no instinctive knowledge, instinct is one thing, knowledge is something else. Do you know what it means to be genetically programmed? That's simply saying the person is a biological machine, humans are not programmed, if so we all will have the same level of knowledge. |

Iloveu2: What does it state with respect to our argument. And by the way, a theory is very subjective not the same as a law. Sorry, its a law not a theory. You said when a baby needs attention, he or she cries. That's a general statement to begin with, which is actually false since there's no proof for it. Subjecting babies cries as the effect of having a need to be attended to is rather, a wild conclusion. It begs the question why do babies cry? If I beat a baby and he starts crying, is that based on a need? In that case the principle of causation based on your position which is a definite conclusion has not been met and falters when we put the cause and effect side by side. |

Iloveu2:

Even in the medical field, not every illness is subjected to a laboratory test in order to make a proof. Ordinary symptoms makes a dictation as to what the problem is. We don't have to make a complexity of a simplicity just to project ourselves as men of knowledge. Such amounts to EGOCENTRICITY.
Babies instinctively know that their cry will draw attention and not their smiles if there is a problem they want to be attended to. What proof is there to look for in this? I don't believe you understand what it means to KNOW. Instincts are not knowledge, they do not in certain terms determine the outcome of a particular action. According to you its common knowledge and thus I believe there is or are scientific studies in relation to it, so get the data and then make a strong statement on the basis of that. |

whitelotus: Yes. There is an older definition that means someone who says there is no god.
A belief system is an ideology used to discern things A belief system is not an ideology, that's something else entirely. A belief system involves principles or tenets on which a Philosophy, religion or Moral code is built on. What's the difference between saying there's no good and saying there's no proof for the existence of God? It's just change of language. Atheism is a belief system because it involves principles on which a certain belief is held. |

Iloveu2: Nope, the suckling is an innate Knowledge to act that way when the breast is placed in the baby's mouth. The mother is in no way teaching the baby how to suckle by impressing her breast into the babies mouth. He is already born with the knowledge to do so. Unlike being taught with time how to use a chop stick to eat spaghetti. Hope you know not all babies are able to suckle? And that's why I put it as a biological function that's impressed with time. What if I tell you that my knowledge of God is innate, would you agree? |

whitelotus: It depends.
Most atheists are agnostic atheists. They are just sceptical.
For them, atheism is a lack of belief.
Then there are strong atheists. These are atheists who say that there is definitely no god. This can be problematic and a faith based position as it cannot be proven that a god doesn't exist. Its a bipolar question. Yes or No? |

Iloveu2: Even when nobody teaches a baby how to suckle her mother's breast, or cry to draw attention....?! Knowledge is unlimited. We are born with certain knowledge for survival, To suckle is a biological function and it doesn't boil down to knowledge. Mind you it's the mother who brings out the breast and places the baby's lips on it and With time, the baby might be able to pick up on this ritual based on impression. Nobody is born with any prior knowledge. |
