Most of the comments here forms part of the reasons why I see a lot of Nigerians as stupid people with no common sense. .

Simple etiquette demands that she for no reason should entertain visitors in her uncles house while on a short visit. Whether she's old enough to be married or not it's inconsequential and inexcusable. If her parents would not condone it why take it to someone else's house where you are visiting? That smirks of a total lack of respect and later you would be wondering why that uncle or aunty of yours doesn't want you around undecided

There is no christian or muslim God

There is only one God

Irrespective of the name you call him Allah jehova God of Abraham Jacob and Issac

The name is iirelevant the most important thing to note is that he is and he is . He is all there is . All powrr cometh from him.. he is the reason for all life and creations, he is the reason life exists , he is all the reasons

So don't let labells or names rub you of recognizing your creator
I disagree with everything you just said, you cannot talk about the importance of a native name in the life of a child and then go on to say God's name is irrelevant. At the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow.

For those of you looking for what's not looking for you, STOP! The path you want to take will only bring about tears and sorrow. Man was severed from having unlimited access to the spiritual for a reason, God doesn't want you possessing such knowledge unless he chooses to. Jesus is more than enough for you.

IslamRe: Insulting The Prophet: Freedom Of Expression Is Freedom FROM Insult, NOT To! by Apination(m): 12:03pm On Oct 30, 2020
Lukgaf:
Freedom of expression is freedom FROM insult, NOT freedom TO insult!

Each faith community feels a deep-rooted emotional attachment to the symbols and personalities it reveres. Muslims are no different.

The value system of Islam is underpinned by respect and reverence – reverence for the Almighty, for all the Messengers of the Almighty – including the Prophets Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them all), the angels, the holy scriptures, the holy cities, religious symbols and places of worship, and respect for elders, teachers, leaders, religious scholars, parents, the elderly etc.

Depicting images of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is strictly forbidden in Islam. The rationale for the prohibition, inter alia, of depicting the Prophet (peace be upon him) is that he was too sublime to be truly portrayed. Furthermore, attempts at portraying him could result in his image being distorted. There are therefore no records of any authentic image or portrait of him anywhere in the world, from any period of Islamic history, which is a significant point of note.

Any attempt to depict the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in illustration is an attempt to depict the sacrosanct, which is not allowed. The nature of cartoons is to satirise and trivialise. This is clearly not acceptable in the case of a personality who is held in the highest esteem by almost 2 billion people globally.

Irrespective of what the motive is for the repeated publishing and displaying of these blasphemous cartoons – whether for cheap publicity, political gains, deliberate provocation, or due to sheer ignorance – it is grossly offensive and highly insensitive and will always be rejected by all people of morality with the contempt it deserves!

Muslims accept the principle of constructive freedom of expression, but not the freedom to wantonly insult, which is sometimes deviously and deceptively masqueraded as freedom of expression. True freedom of expression is freedom FROM insult, not freedom TO insult! Freedom to insult has ultimately resulted in hatred, bigotry and even destruction. Humour that is disrespectful, insensitive and offensive, is not humour, but is in fact hubris.

But when Muslims object, the stock response is that they do not appreciate freedom of expression. The media and others view this as an infringement of the right of freedom of speech. However, one aspect that is often overlooked is that no right is absolute; there are inherent limitations. Every right is counterbalanced against other rights. Every right has to be exercised with utmost responsibility.
The blatant hypocrisy of certain leaders in the application of freedom of speech is glaringly visible for the world to see! Whilst they harp on the promotion of freedom of speech, they are intolerant of any criticism of themselves or things that are dear to them. So much for freedom of speech!

Muslim leaders and masses would be justifiably outraged and enraged by this act of profanity. This could even precipitate protests and boycotts. The worldwide anger and outpouring of objections has made it amply clear that Muslims will never accept disrespect to the Prophet (peace be upon him) or whatever else is deemed sacred to them. Despite this open provocation, Muslims are urged to follow the noble example of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon Him) in the kind, tolerant and forgiving manner he dealt with his enemies and continued to invite them to the Path of Guidance.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: How I Lost A Potential Job Because Of My Denomination by Apination(m): 3:13pm On Sep 13, 2020
wunmi590:
Good day nairalanders,

Sorry I have to write this, I have decided to keep it to myself but, I decided to let it out.

Just like every other job seekers who are looking for jobs either to switch to a better pay or change environment.

Though I have been out of job since the COVID-19 pandemic started, I worked in a retail company, but since we have not been called back, I decided to search for job.

I saw an advert and decided to submit my application, just like every other people, luckily after one week or two, I got a mail that I have been shortlisted for their online test and after I pass, I will move to the next stage which is virtual interview before coming to their office to sign my employment letter.

After the mail, like 3 days I got a mail containing my ogin and password for the test, fiam, I opened and I did the test.

After like another 3days, I got a mail from them that I passed the test and i should be expecting a whatsap call from one of their head office in Europe.

Luckily I got the call, from one of the European country number from a Nigerian, believing is the call that would change my life forever.

After the normal introduction and other things like the job functions, the real bible questions started which I was able to scale through it.

Towards the end of the virtual interview, the last question was are you a born again Christian, have you been baptised and what denomination are you?.

And I said yes I'm a born again Christian, I've been baptised and I'm a Roman Catholic.

At the end of my speech his response was, is not possible to be a Catholic and be born again.

He said once you were not taken to the river to be baptised that's not a baptism.

Catholics are not born again Christians and I'm not baptised too just because I was not taken to the river to be baptised.

His last statement was, you actually have the experience but, we need other denomination not Catholic that the job entails somebody who is a real born again Christian.

That was how I lost the job, thinking today being my birthday, I will go to church and do special thanks giving.
There are Catholics where were baptised in moving water or living water, through immersion. Baptism leaves an indelible mark on the soul whether it's through immersion or sprinkling as is the norm in most Roman Catholic churches. The reason why I'm lecturing you on this is because you failed at not knowing what you practice and it's effects and that translated to the stumbling block you encountered. You are not a Catholic because you attend the gathering, you are one based on your faith and knowledge of that faith you practice. Just like many Christians, you are oblivious of who you say you are and lack basic knowledge about what you claim to be. BTW I'm a Catholic but not Roman Catholic undecided

dangerousdaddy:
Good evening people. Please don't mind my English. My post is actually out of pains and frustration and i may not type with the correct words.

I'm a 31 years old guy. I'm actually very bad with spending because when i have money, whoever asks from me gets. I am under alot of pressure lately especially from those around me. I am the 1st child of my parents and have so many responsibilities.

I got my girlfriend pregnant and she moved in with me. My parents were never there for me so i vowed i was going to be there for my kids. Hence i do all i can to make sure my daughter and her mum are OK.

The girl in question is a torn in my flesh. Totally different from when we were dating without a child. Nowadays, as soon as i get my salary, she wants to buy this, she wants to buy that even though she knows i receive less than a 100k and i have multiple loans i am paying back because we moved out of our old apartment due to space constraints especially after she delivered.

Whenever i don't have money, there is never a happy moment in my home. But if i come home and bring money, we become very good friends. She wants to live a good life which is not wrong but I feel when she knows how i am managing, she ought to understand and bear with me.

The last straw that broke the camel's back was, i was yet to be paid, i had 700 with me. I gave her to make some food because we had the basic food stuff in the house.... Rice, beans, ogbono, spaghetti, garri, Egusi.... Palm oil. So basically all she had to buy was fish or something to put inside the food.

I came home after a hard day at work and met an empty kitchen. When I asked for my food, she asked me what i expected her to cook with 700 naira. I got so mad and left the house but since it was late (it was close to midnight), i decided to come back. In my anger, i started asking her why she's treating me badly. And the next thing is, she called her mum to say I'm fighting with her and that i pushed her to the ground. Her mum replied and said that if anything happens to her daughter, she would hold me responsible. That she didn't give me a wife......

Now I feel i should just end everything and let's go our separate ways before it becomes a case of domestic violence. I never want to see my child grow up to see me fighting with her mum always and being unhappy. I believe a child that grows up in an unhappy home is always at a disadvantage. Please help me guys. I am in pains.

I hope this makes front page
Simply send her to her parents since they didn't give you wife to marry. Send upkeep for your child monthly since she's obviously not ready to face life squarely. She's not prepared to be a wife or support you, but if you really did push her or went physical with her, better stop. undecided

Religion is nothing but a doctrine which allows sinners to castigate other sinners for sinning differently.

The evangelist disturbing law-abiding prostitutes from operating their business, can he honestly say that he is without sin?
Or is fornication the only sin in the Bible?

True Christianity is not practiced in Nigeria.

What we have is adulterated Christianity blended with elements of African traditional fetish practices.

Bible said pray for your enemies.
Nigerian Christians are always calling on holy fire to roast their imaginary village people as if their saviour Jesus is nothing but an assassin who has nothing else to do with his time but strike off names from his believers' hitlist.
No man's life is the standard for preaching the gospel, but Christ. Do not water down the truth because you are weak or close your eyes to evil and condone it because you are also struggling with same sin. undecided
