Health / Re: Covid-19: My Tale Of 3 Cities - Evelyn John, A Nigerian Student In Wuhan, China by Arcbox(m): 11:59pm On Jun 11, 2020
you see! from the story she has posted, you may have a justification for your conclusions and you may not. I know Evelyn john as we all depart Nigeria same time for a doctoral program in China. I am in a different city from Wuhan and in a city of over 20million people. Before I start, I will use a simple illustration of the law of motion which states that equal and opposite reactions are met with opposite forces. In Nigeria today, traversing the four cardinal regions are with different characters, behavior and level of receptiveness of people, same thing apply to everywere in the world. The action portrays by some Nigerians outside Nigeria always put others in negative corner. Every country have their law. In China, you must present your valid passport as a foreign to rent accommodation, get a hotel room, Banking and alot that can be mentioned. without which you cannot access those facilities. My best friend we came to China together is in the city of Guangzhou. We all have a PhD Nigerian and African group where everybody communicate incase of issues like this. The friend in Guangzhou told me that most of the guys affected are people that have stayed illegal in China without valid document. the actions of this fellow prompt the negative treatment from the Chinese which is normal. As a student here in China, the international student office took care of me; supply me face mask till this moment, as about your health everyday, provide for your feeding and living allowance and others. Another question you should as is that; why us it mostly Nigerians? I have a Ghanaian friend in that city who never complain about anything rather praise Chinese for their care.My conclusion is that; As a Nigerian in any country we should be respectful and well behaved if not we can't get a respect. A situation where you meet a Nigerian guy and all he is talking about is how to make money either true hook or crook. please let's behavior ourselves.
sexylassie2:
What about the videos we saw.

The no entries for blacks at shops and malls.

The Nigerians on the street been thrown out from hotels.

So because they lodged you in an hotel and gave you food, all of a sudden China is the best country in the world.

Family / Re: The Biggest Mistake In Marriage Right Now For A Woman by Arcbox(m): 5:23am On May 23, 2020
when I read your post, i see that it's nothing but a total summary of the epistles of the average AFRICAN WOMEN. I thankGod that I got married to someone who I never had much before she join me in building the empire. Just to add alittle to your post. as someone who live in diaspora, I see the greatest percentage of young African women as a shame to the continent. God help you so you will not meet the girl from a poor village or home. Right in diaspora, the African girl have that mentality of entitlement that you have to pay rent for them, give money for hair, nails etc. I have witness were ladies from other continents will want to take you out and pay your bills but African girl will not. It's very bad when you are only thinking of receiving but not giving. I will use this to appeal to African girls to work hard and be nice. No man want a pest as a woman.
its natural that when good is done, good is reciprocated. African ladies please change your mentality of entitlement.
KingSatan:

As a man, a father and a grandfather. I have lived life to an extent and this is my view on this subject.

The previous thread was simple and concise, "Never marry a woman who has no means of income".

But that is the truth!

Gone are the days when people marry "Obiageri's" according to the Igbos.
Back then, things weren't this bad. Considering the family setting in those days, women had no other role than to cook, birth, raise children and clean the house.

So their parents prepare them for marriage, teach them how to cook, satisfy a man and raise children. They also spend alot of time grooming their hairs, taking care of their skin (Some parents send their children to fattening rooms) and waiting to get married.

When we got married, we married to keep them at home and show off to our friends. Only a few of us married because of love. Some of our partners were not our choice but our parents.

So when you marry, your wife and children should always reflect your wealth and networth. Most especially, YOUR WIFE.

I repeat, back then things were not this bad and everyone knew their roles.

But in today's world, so many things have changed.

Women should bring to the table as much as they expect from the man.

Raising children costs alot of money and shouldn't be the responsibility of the man alone.

So many marriages have crashed on the alter of poverty or "One stream of income".

We must learn to tell ourselves the truth always.

Back then, you don't spend so much to raise a child. If he or she wants to go to the community school or follow the white man's way of life, you send them as a punishment. But those humble and loyal sons, follow you to the farm and when they come of age, you give them farmlands and wives if possible. But that's not the case anymore.

Apart from formal education abroad, I also encouraged my children to learn sellable skills. One of my son is a fashion designer and that is what puts food on his table in the UK. His college degree only reflects on his call cards.

I told this to my children (Daughters inclusive) never to marry a man or woman who has no verifiable means of income.

Money is needed to run a home in the 21st century. Alot of money!

We no longer live in mud houses or drink from pots.

As for "Entitlement", I think every couple should have that mentality depending on the context.

The man is entitled to his wife's emotional commitment. She is his wife and this also applies to the man.

I am tired of typing.

To be truthful, i warned my son's against mingling with an average African woman. They simply don't want to know the truth. They hate the truth with Passion and that is why true feminism failed woefully here.

In the Diaspora, most men who want peace of mind avoid African women because of their "Entitlement Mentality" and how exploitative they are.

Many of these women don't work but enjoy proceeds of child support from numerous partners. You think it's a coincidence? No it not. It was deliberate.

They just want to seat at home, get fat, enlarge their butts and walk up and down the street like a pussy cat that resides in Buckingham Palace.

Should I talk about Nigeria, where you meet an average Nigerian lady and realise that;

1. She is a college graduate because a "Man" sponsored her in school (Both of them are no longer together as a couple).

2. She has a roof over her head because a "Man" made that available (She has no intention of marrying him).

3. She uses the best smartphone because a "Man" bought it for her (Just another random man).

4. She has clothes on her body because a "Man" gave her money for shopping (Obviously he is "One of those mugus"wink.

5. She has food on her table because so many men send her money.

This same woman has no other skill but sexual skills. The only thing she can offer is "Sexual Intercourse", "Birthing Children" and "Companionship" but she expects the man to "Mark her birthdays with a brand new Escalade", "Buy her parents a new house and train her younger ones in school". Is that not exploitation?

This same woman hates her mother inlaw because she sees her as her rival. Anyway, women have always hated themselves from time immemorial, don't get moved when you see them shout in solidarity, it's just for a few seconds.

When asked about their contribution in the relationship or Marriage, some will say "I birthed children for him". But that's your natural default woman!

Even if you sleep with a sexually active mad man, you will get pregnant and birth for him.

Some will even say, "I satisfy him sexually. I gave him my body and soul". But that is same thing you did with your numerous ex lovers.

According to Pastor Sam Adeyemi, he said "If a woman does not help her husband financially, then how else does she want to help him".

In this age and time, it takes two adults who have a verifiable means of income to build a healthy family.

Cheers!

you are just blind by ignorance. when you don't have facts and illiterate of the subject matter, try and ask question. To Let you know, I am not a lecturer but I am a PhD student right now in abroad. Nigerian universities use old professor as visiting lecturers in other university because of accreditation. Accreditation has a minimum requirement as sitout by NUC and relevant professional bodies. A situation where certain numbers of PhD and professors are required for accreditation, an assistant lecturer or someone with masters degree cannot fill that gap. In the country where I am running my PhD presently, most of my professors are running outside consultancy and teaching in several universities across the world different from their original base. It may be interesting for you to know that most of the research done by this professors are like their personal consultancy to their government because the recommendations of their research are trusted and form the policy foundation for the government to implement. more so, the teachers are highly paid. In my school here, PhD students who intend taking academics as their careers are engaged by all the professors as TA(teaching assistant) during their period of studies. please do your findings before commenting in an unjust way. let me also tell you, based on that salary schedule for academic staff in Nigeria as shown; The highest paid professors wages in Nigeria is equivalent or even less than the salary of a kindergarten teacher where I am right now. Speak good to build your education system.

in life, everything all depend on how God plan it for you and you work towards it. just on my little part for you to learn from.
At age 5(primary one)I lost my Dad. my mum work all night trading to see me through primary and secondary school. At age 15year, I left my mum to go and finish up my secondary in a different city, ever since that time, I have never spend one month at home with my mum. At age 26, I hold a masters degree in Architecture. presently, a PhD student in Abroad. my mum don't even know how I was about to get this feat till now. Sometimes, your parents want the best for you but they can't do it via flexing of muscle. Just work hard, pray and believe that you can bring out the best in you. I leave you with two key words " Resilience and Determination " will make you stand out. All the best in your decision.

I don't need to argue with you and I will not do that. I am giving you facts you don't know. I am I PhD student presently in China. if you want verification, call me and I will show you live video of classes lockup since you are believing in online video. To let you know, wuhan has detected community case of COVID-19 and the population of over 11 million has started effort to make everyone tested again. good day oga.
To educate you more since you want hell bent before you believe. Every summer academic season end in june/july, so china is not able to allow students return back on campus before july summer vacation. only final year Chinese students who are defending projects are allowed into the schools with certain criteria. International students who travel out of China are not allowed to come back. As I speak to you, all international student visa is suspended till further notice, so how can you say schools have resume. when you just come on social media to argue and label people saying I am claiming to know all, you should hold to all evidence without what you hear from others. All programs are taken online in Chinese schools.

Saintinoo:

I hate it when people come online to prove that they know all...
Oga schools in China have sine resumed, i don't know reason for your argument. Or you are trying to tell me that we saw monkeys in Chinese schools and classes and not students?

I am in China right now and can tell you what's going on here. no school gate is opened. all programs are online. in most schools, international student in the dormitory only go out for a certain duration just for buying food. Don't stay in Nigeria there and read from social media.

Oga say what you know.... Only Wuhan spent 3months on lockdown and schools in China have since resumed.

that man is just after money and collection of school fees without considering people's health. He is not a public health professional to give advice in that regards. The virus originated from China. As I speak, all schools in China are shut down after 5 months even when the virus is nonexistent in some province. The government should not listen to his advice until a concrete framework on prevention, control and possible cure is sorted out. Everybody are giving selfish advice. Give the the power and he will perform worst after all, it's their generation that put us were we are today.

You guys in Nigeria like running your mouth. let me educate you if you don't know, the initial stage Nigeria was screening at the airport. someone can be screened and left with negative symptoms but it shows infected after 2-3weeks. As I speak to you right now, I am in China. I am in one of the city next to Wuhan which is the most hit city of COVID-19 in China. The problem I have with religiosity in Nigeria is the believe of the worshippers on certain ideas that the statement of the man of God is supreme. If prayers( acknowledge your God)from church is supreme why are you still having poverty, hunger, unemployment, unpaved roads, killings and alot I can't mentioned here in Nigeria? don't get me wrong because I am also a Christian who don't default in referencing and worshipping my God when is time. I learnt some man of God says COVID-19 will disappear before the end of the month but as I talk to you, death in on the rise in the world and confirmed cases keep rising in Nigeria. Are you telling me that in China were orders was given(police will handle you if you default)for all of us to stay at home; transport systems shut down, offices closed, shops closed, we spend days in the room without opening our doors, no churches, no mosques, no social event are backward in development than your religious Nigeria? if I may tell you. Only the GDP of the city I am right now is more that the GDP of entire Nigeria. China design a phone apps which enables us to know the distance of an infected COVID-19 case around our destinations; this apps show you if you are getting close to an infected person and how you can avoid the area, even when we don't go out. only me have a key card to enter my environment. Even with the Chinese technology, people obey the simple instructions and all the streets was empty for more than 10 weeks. people never learn from history, the same argument in Nigeria is what happen in Italy and death in Italy is getting to twice death in China. let me give you a little clue about the virus; you can't touch elevator buttons because the virus have the ability of staying at the surface for 15 minutes if touched by an infected person, you can't touch doors(we have to rap our hands with tissue papers if you are without hand gloves), allow infected persons close proximity with you. washing your hands and going into the church hall is not enough. what happens when an undetected case wash hands and move to the church hall, and cough or sneezes around people?. please I am advising you guys to adhere by simple instructions from the government. isolation and social distancing is the best option. A word is enough for the wise.. That's my earlier warning I wrote on Sunday.

#COVID-19#
My little advice to whom it may concern. As we all know, is no longer news that COVID-19 is living amongst you. You may choose to be a victim and you may choose to avoid it. As a Nigerian, we are strong people no doubt about that. Nigerians are also like a man trying to test the efficacy of a burning fire. My little experience with coronavirus virus is no far fetch as someone who has been in China over this period of epidemic. indeed it's a good news that uptil this moment, no Nigerian in China was confirm with case of the virus. it take a high level discipline to adopt the measures. Being in china for the past 10 weeks is like choosing to live the life that you hate. The streets are empty, no movement, no food stores open, no social life, no friends to chat you( only yourself that you know). simple life style but difficult. China was able to win big because of the communist life style. the housing pattern is no doubt a communal Architecture which in some cases can accommodate as much as 200 family in a compound. That gave them the edge over control of movement in and out of a particular compound. police are not smiling with you if you default in rules so you can't afford to misbehave. Back home in Nigeria, I understand that things are bad economically but it's a two option for you as a Nigerian, either to follow the advice from the health ministry and have a chance to live and huzzle again or live your free life style and die. My candid advice is for everyone to self isolate and stay indoor. Coronavirus is no childs play and can spread like wildfires. Once again, Avoid crowd and stay in your houses with the assumption that you are the only one without the virus....
# wash your hands regularly
# Avoid people that cough and sneezes
# Take more vitamins
# Take more water.
Remember, only the living that can celebrate. Remain blessed everyone.

You can have your reservations and act according to your conscience but don't get to social media space and insult your elders. I share your opinion completely. my problem with ladies is thinking that getting married to a man is the end of your problem. if you have two child( boy and girl) what else are you rushing into by marrying another man without giving your children the sense of belonging? I always use my mother as a typical example, I lost my Dad when I was about 5years old in primary 1 with a younger brother. My mother stayed with the two of us till today. she huzzle and use garri to feed the two of us. As I am talking to you now, I have traveled round the world, presently doing my PhD in a top world university. madam, hard work and patience pays. please ladies try and be resilience in your approach to life, not all about marriage sometimes.

post=87380517:

Your son is not a thief. He's a small child who found himself in an unfortunate situation, and he'll surely get over it. He needs love and attention. It's difficult not to place blames. I think you should have allowed those kids to get older before marriage. Your elder brother has failed you. So also your husband. Keep appealing to your husband or take a break off to live with your kids and show them love so that they can grow properly. Marriage is not all about keeping a woman at home and raising biological children from her.

climate changeis endemic. it has been that because of globalization, the earth atmosphere has been polluted with a vast percentage of Co2, resulting from industrial gases and fossil fuel. yes China has been the highest emitter of GHS but they have
put in some measurs such as the use of bicycle which has zero emissions into the environment, the electric rail system and electric BRT. climate change is also synonymous with population growth so you can say that China is highest emitter of greenhouse gases. In an action toward mitigating the effects of climate change, we must go for energy performance systems of Architecture because building and construction contribute about 30% gas emissions. its estimated that by year 2050, the world population growth will increase by an additional 2billion people who will need housing, offices, industrial and expanded infrastructure. so let's join hands to mitigate climate change from an energy performance Architecture and design through legislation, instead of using Coronavirus as a tools to wipe human faces on earth. The success achieving climate change will be worthless if human race ceases to exit so we should not use negative means to handle a negative effect. I stand strongly to find solutions through research and innovations in mitigating the effects of climate change.
Witcher:
Coronavirus or climate change choose ur evil. Actually Coronavirus has done more to stop climate change than Greta or any of these kids, it reduced China's emissions by a quarter. China is the world's leading CO2 emitter and generates one third of all global CO2 emissions, just incase you didn't know that, because Greta or these kids never seem to mention these facts.

my dear, when you talk of issue of bullying, it means you have not position yourself properly in the heart of a man. I am a married guy and I can tell you to take it to the bank. I respect woman alot, but I can tell you majority of what some ladies are thinking of in Nigeria is a mirage. Even in the developed country where I reside right now respect is attained mutually. if you watch out, the life expectancy rate for men in Nigeria is 50 years while where I have seen across the western world with my eyes, life expectancy is upto 80years. All this resulting from family pressure on men. Have you ask yourself when a man get older quickly in a family?. please everybody regardless of gender should situp to build a home together not running away from your husband at a difficult time.

this is the main reason why some girls will tell you that they are wise but they will make the worst mistakes and meet the worst man in life. listen to your comments! A woman was created to be a constant companion, a help and meek being. if the man lost his job or what so ever, the woman should stay with him. you talk of bloody kids which you are not sure if you will have any bloody kid in your life yet. A woman that carry pregnancy for nine months and abandon her children is very wicked quote me well. some of you should go and buy yourself brain if not you will suffer in life.

Look at this OP, he is not even the one being cheated on, but it worries him so much he had to open a thread about it.

There are many women tired from raising kids by themselves, have you ever noticed anyone of them? The moment you see one man raising his kids you come to open thread.
You men should get used to raising your own bloody kids.

marriage is a beautiful thing especially when you have an understanding woman. I got married with same kind of experience. I had completed my masters degree but not with a stable income. we got married on a low starting but only God know were we are right now.i could only afford a traditional and court marriage then. in fact, this message I am writing from my PhD school in China. just be bold when making a decision and never think of what others will say. congratulations bro.
