Politics / Re: Should The Nigerian Govt Regulate The Social Media Space? by Arcbox(m): 2:42pm On Feb 13
Yes..government should regulate the social media space! It’s a menace to human value in Nigeria..my experience with other country doing better than us is not this way..I have leaved in a developed nations and social media and individual right is not violated like it’s done currently in Nigeria. How can someone act like a ghost to insult others from the comfort of their home? How can immoral behavior such as showing of privates be done without consequences in Nigeria? Remember, where your right stop is where others started..
Car Talk / Re: A Friend Borrowed My Car And Brought It Back Like This by Arcbox(m): 8:37pm On Jan 23
Spark2:
Good day NL.
A friend of mine borrowed my car few days ago to help ease movement for him. I happily gave him the car because I understood the need he had.

For precautionary reasons, I don't let my fuel get below quarter tank. Each time it gets there, i ensure I top it up.

When I gave this guy my key, I told him clearly to ensure he adds enough fuel as he's leaving my place and not to allow the fuel guage gets below quarter.

My car spent some days with him. he brought back the car and complained that my car has stopped on the way several times and each time it stops, he'd have to buy a little fuel and add before it moves.

Second, he brought back the car with scratches on my front bumper. I learned from someone that he had moved on terrible roads with the car. I was told he went to places that other people had parked because their vehicles can't enter.

I asked how much fuel he bought and he told me he bought a few litres of fuel. This got me furious because this is a journey that if I am to go, I'd have to buy over 40L of fuel.

Third, he brought it back with a faulty fuel gauge, my fuel gauge has never been faulty since I bought my car. It was not possible for me to know the fuel level at the time he returned the car.

I had to go fix my car because I had a need to go somewhere with it. My mechanic opened to tank to check why the car was stopping as well as the fuel gauge. To my surprise, my tank was terribly empty. It was dry.

I had to buy so much fuel as well as fix the fuse of the fuel gauge. As for the scratches, I will have to leave them like that. The funny thing is that my friend cannot even tell me he is sorry.

I have resolved in my mind, I WILL NEVER GIVE ANYBODY MY CAR AGAIN. NO.
ITS ONLY ME THAT CAN TAKE CARE OF MY CAR. I AM THE ONE MAINTAINING IT AND I KNOW EHERE IT PAINS.

what do you think about this?
Do you give out your car to your friends to use especially in this hard economy where fuel, maintenance and cost of parts are on the high side.
I gave a friend my car to help him get something stuff to somewhere. He stoped at a market carelessly and the battery was stolen…he came back to beg with half the cost of the battery 🔋, but I didn’t collect the money from him.

It allow for quick run-off rain water and prevent leakages as compare to flat roof..it’s more aesthetically pleasing and egocentric..it allow for better indoor air quality and thermal comfort in building. Finally, it last longer than flat roof.

It is a very welcome development. Bicycles are very environmental friendly. The same people who praise the Whites for living a simpl life are all here condemning what they commended in Europe and America.
Bicycles indeed are environmental friendly which constitute zero emission of carbon in terms of carbon footprint. However, your comparison in terms of usage with Europe and America is mischievous. In Europe and America, sperate lanes are created to respect the rights and safety of the cyclists. America and Europe have developed infrastructure before implementing such policies. Are you asking Nigerians to ride bike and bicycle in untared roads, mud roads with undulating surfaces?..Nigeria have not put Transport infrastructure in place before such policies..To further buttress this discussions and bring more clarity. In countries like China, All undergraduate students( especially Domestic) are mandated to live on campus with several dormitories built to facilitate the process. Compare to Nigeria where 80%-90% undergraduates students are living off campus because of deficits in accommodations…When students live on campus, transport expenses is cut down minimally! A lot to be discussed in this subject matter but I will stop here.

If a police man manhandle or misbehave and the police authority did not act, it's a problem of insult from the public. Now the police is acting to punish officers found wanting. Business / Re: Top 20 Richest & Poorest Countries In The World's $94 Trillion Economy (Photos) by Arcbox(m): 5:33pm On Mar 18, 2022
Some of you are never analytical and shallow in your sense of thinking. GDP is the total worth of a country NOT per capital income. Simple analysis: your father gave birth to five(5) of you and have a total assets worth 10k, it means you are not better than the family that the man gave birth to one(1) child with a total assets worth 4k. Just get that in simple terms. Nigeria have population than south Africa, that's why Nigeria being the biggest economy in Africa($500b), will not enjoy like south Africa with ($300b) economy.
Zico5:
Listing Nigeria among the richest country in the world is a pure joke. Average Nigeria are glowing under extreme poverty and suffering. Economy is in comatose, no good roads, no jobs, inflation is skyrocketing on daily basis.
Maybe these people are using Buhari, Obasanjo, Tinubu and co to determine the richness of this country, if not Comoros and Gambia are better country than this yeye nation

Sorry bro. You have to calm down and make your marriage work. You need extreme patience to walk that road with your spouse. The problem of Nigeria is not because of high prices but the lack of resources and adequate jobs and money to meetup your needs. Before I came to Nigeria the middle of this year, I have to increase my family upkeep to 100% but serious complain from my wife. I saw it myself when I came in. I'm gona be categorical with you that it's a global issue. When I compare the cost of things in Nigeria with outside, I discover that Nigeria is the best place to live.hahaha. make your wife understand and double your hustle or cut down on needless expenses.

Mine is just to eat, read and sleep with atleast minimum of 500k every month. So try and get your fact right. It also depends on the type of scholarship you get.

if you are ill-informed , you shut your mouth up and try to read widely..Go and read or try and watch prof. soludo's video on YouTube in October 2019. Nigeria's diaspora remittance is as much as equivalent to oil revenue generated in a year.
thebosstrevor1:
They can hold it.

Let them continue to deceive themselves. Na their families go suffer.

If Nigerian abroad truelly send 29 billion dollars, we wont be in any dollars crises even if the price of oil falls.

In 2019, Nigeria oil revenue was $64.9 billion, so this people abroad are telling us that they send almost half of the country's oil revenue. What a joke.

Infact oil and agriculture are the bulk of Nigeria's revenue, not diaspora remittance.

Some of you are damed fucking shit with evil mind and that’s how you can never make progress in life.
I am gonna give you an insight into different scenarios you know nothing about.
My family is in Nigeria and I am outside presently. I came for a PhD program on scholarship and just spend one year here. You are allowed to come over with your family. More over, you need to go and see how things look like. My intention was that my family will join me in six month later which is around faburary/March this year. Event turn out that coronavirus strike and every air space is shutdown. My intention was to come and see my family in July as summer break start but Nigeria air space is shut. Now that’s a different ground. Do you know that my little daughter who just turn 3 years and was schooling in Nigeria, her school fees here is over 10million naira per annum?. My wife is living close with the mother and father. I know she miss me but she can never be close to anyone. I trust her and we are on video call every day. Any woman that believe you and your dreams will support you not all about sex. In the western world here, people huzzle and not thinking of romance and sex as you in Nigeria is always engrossed with. I will see my family in November. When you are coming to social media and talking trash because you manage to buy mtn data, you watch what you say because everybody are different.

this a substandard construction with no regards to specifications. the ratio of cement, gravel, water and sand mixture is very poor. Trying to cut corner is very deadly. When the ratio of the cement mixes is inadequate, it exposes the pores of the concrete elements. you have to remove those overhead water thanks on the decking if not the leakage will cause corrosion of reinforcements. Sagging and deflection is eminent. Please try to involve professionals when you are doing projects and avoid cutting corners.

Investnow2017:

I agree with you. True, many Nigerians carry the ugly mentality of jumping queue, disorderliness along with them outside Nigeria. But from what we read and saw on the media the Chinese negative attitude was an African wide poor treatment, it was not limited to Nigerians alone, other Africans were equally maltreated.
