we did not just wake up and shut our border, in fact, it took us more than 18months to take that decision. The border closure is not targeted at Ghana but benin republic. We've sent numerous warning to their govt about d smuggling of goods, esp rice into d country, our president even met their president in TICAD, Tokyo to explain matter arising to him but to no avail. Imagine Benin republic became one of the largest importer of rice in the world after we restricted forex for rice importation but we know Nigerians are d collaborator with beninoise to frustrate our govt effort.

The border closure is not targeted at ghana, ghana is just experiencing d side effect.
And even if the border closure was targeted at Ghana, so what about it?
Nigeria's interest first before others.

Economic Overview

Benin's economy is heavily reliant on the informal re-export and transit trade with Nigeria (estimated at approximately 20% of GDP), and on agriculture. Despite a recent downward trend, the poverty rate remains high, at 46.4% in 2018, with a poverty line of $1.90 a day in purchasing power parity.

Imagine the smuggling business in Benin contributes 20% of their GDP, maybe that of Ghana would be around 7-10% of her GDP too all at the expense of Big Uncle Nigeria and that's why they've all been crying blue murder.

you don't just wake up and shut your borders common sense should tell you to give a grace period so that those who have set off by road with regional legitimate goods will be allowed to cross then when it expires you then enforce your rule if you have blocked kasapreko from entering then it's only fair same is done to dangote, so are you trying to say that your people don't do checks at your border? Is closing the border a good decision?Smugglers will only use other routes and this time even avoid paying tax, but hey your country your rules hopefully our government will take a second look at our borders too and ban not only goods but people from Nigeria.
Begging continues, our president is in Russia now, if yours and those of Benin, Togo and Niger would be there too, tell them to go as a group and kneel in front of Buhari and beg him seriously and shedding real or fake tears, our president might then have pity on you guys and order the borders open.

You see your life President Muhammad Buhari, when President Vladamir Putin visited Saudi-Arabia, President Putin was escorted in his LIMO with Sixteen (16) Horses to meet with Saudi King, but here you are sitting aimlessly with your entourage smiling unnecessarily instead of facing Serious issues and positive Business that made all of you go to Moscow, please you all should better be serious and focus for once and the sake of Nigerian.
When we tell some of you to use your God given brain to reason before posting, una go dey vex.
Buhari is going for a summit and not a state visit, he's not the only head of state that'd be there and as such cannot be accorded all the privileges of a state visit.

What you don't know, ask, and still lost after asking, carry out some research before posting

Your post made sense but looking at it from another angle, by the time foreign rice mad Nigerians get to know that the so called foreign rice is actually local, they'd stop requesting for foreign and go straight for local

Why are you looking for evidence that the Army went to Kanu's house when the minister for Defence, Dan Ali, and the COAS, Burutai, have already confirmed that the Army went there? Below is the interview that Dan Ali gave where he stated that the Army went to Kanu's house but they did not get him. A minister is openly stating that the Army broke the law by going to a persons house to arrest him when they have no powers to do so

But the biggest joke of all was the affidavit Burutai swore in court when Kanu's Lawyer sued him to produce Kanu. Bututai said that the Army were chasing a truck full of ammunition and the truck ran into Kanu's compound and they followed it in. To this day, nobody has seen any pictures of this truck full of ammunition they claim they chased into Kanu's compound. Nobody has seen one single ammunition

All in all, IPOB lied to her followers that Nnamdi Kanu and his parents were being held by the soldiers without telling anyone that they actually ran away. Why the lies?
Some people have been killed, maimed, imprisoned or their whereabout unknown all because they were demanding for his fake release

what you do not know is above you she is royalty simple. Really? Do those in royalty move around and attend visible meetings when a member dies? Do the Igbos do that too?
Someone as close as his mother dies and he still has the guts to be moving around openly instead of going low in public appearance.
I'm not sure you're even Igbo because you don't understand the tradition.

He probably meant the invasion of the family home by soldiers’ traumatised his mother and that she never quite recovered. Since everyone now accepts that stress kills it is not a stretch if Kanu observes that military- specifically individual or individuals that ordered the search of her home - were indirectly responsible for his mother’s death. Accepting his point, for our part, should not mean accepting or promoting certain political agendas; moreover, I doubt history would adjudge the Nigerian state wrong for some of the actions taken in this regard although use of military instead of police may be points of strongest contention.
Evidence of soldiers in the compound is all IPOB needs to counter the FG, let them present it

The military and police have their traditional roles, thats why their training differ. The Army is for external security and territorial integrity while the police is internal security and maintaining law and order.

In a civilised society, the Army has no business going to anybody's house in a place where no war exists. The Army has no constitutional power to go to a persons house to make arrest. That is the job of the police. The only time the Army can arrest someone is if they are deployed for war, or if a person is committing a crime where they are operating. The Army going to Kanu's house to open fire and kill people was illegal, unconstitutional and a violation of ethics. It was also a calculated assassination attempt.

How anyone can justify the deployment of Soldiers against unarmed people is beyond me
Can you give us just one evidence that the military invaded his compound? Real evidence and not some videos and pictures with no Nigerian soldier in it

Because Nigeria averagely produce more yam than locally demanded .Again exporting of yams is more lucrative than domestic consumption.....
So we must export everything and keep people hungry, no wonder Benin, Togo, Niger, Cameroon and Ghana are finding it tough with the border closure.
They produce nada but only relying on Nigeria for survival by smuggling into Nigeria

so learn the empty barrel lier
India is the largest producer of rice and same time second largest importer because of her population, China is the second largest producer but the largest importer.
We use what we produce unlike Ghana that exports everything and would still import everything.
Population is power and Nigeria has it

Nigeria big investors knows there money and buisness are more safe in Ghana than Any second ties city of Nigeria ....

Ghana remains Nigeria’s largest trade partner and favourite investment hub in the West Africa sub-region, as Ghana imports the largest share of all Nigerian oil exports in the West African sub-region. So Ghana is not a country that can be treated like benin and others. the reason for the temporary corridor.

Tell them to leave the rest of Nigeria and go get the Biafra, they'd start shouting planned genocide and how they'd write letters to the UN, US, EU, AU, everyone.

I have giving you a simple understanding of what an investors will tell you for a cash. it make more sense to invest in Ghana for a long time benefit but if it a matter of pay back method ( ability to pay back quick) then nigeria slightly edge Ghana because of market size.
It still boils down to the same thing, the huge Nigerian market dwarfs the rest of West Africa including Ghana and that has been the reason Ghana has been doing everything it can to get access back into the Nigerian market and reason Nigeria and Nigerians are not too bothered because we know that the Ghanaian market is so insignificant to us

First GHANA GDP ppp per capital is slightly higher than Nigeria. this is a fact.

An economy is only as productive as its people, so the level of social and human development is indicative of progress and future productivity. As a business men , i will also consider access to education, basic amenities, and healthcare. this will guranty my long time sales or investment .

Nigeria may does better because of short-term advantages(The pay back method) because of that os what is current market size suggest but Ghana will fares better in long-term pillars such as business ease, social development, and most especially in good governance.

Good reasons company in Nigeria are relocating to Ghana......

The kind of lies you pander around makes me sick. Nigeria produces 10 times more shea butter than Ghana. Nigeria is indeed the largest producer. The only difference is that Ghana exports nearly all the shea butter it makes, while Nigeria only exports 5% of the shea butter it produces.

Of course you have no choice than to export it all. When your population is not even up to that of Lagos state, who will use the product there?

Nigeria can NEVER buy shea butter from Ghana. NEVER!
He doesn't even know that Nigeria exports Shea butter

now factor in both export and import rate of Nigeria, factor in both export and import rate of Ghana and let's see whose balance of trade is more?

You could help me with the balance of trade for both countries since you've decided to go into another one

Whatever baseless logic you come up with, it still shows Ghanaians averagely are richer than Nigeria....

market size is something very diffrent, there is what we called valuable market , it makes more sense to deal with Switzerland ( 9 million population) than to deal with Nigeria (200 million populations) because of valuable market. the former understand and can buy luxury , the latter is poor and can't afford it . so here population becomes useless....
Switzerland has a GDP nominal per capita of about $83,000 and Nigeria about $2,000.
You should of course expect the Swiss market to be more attractive even with its small population unlike Ghana that is on the same level with Nigeria and even with a very smaller population than Nigeria, the Nigerian market would be more attractive.
If each Nigerian and Ghanaian was told to buy a pair of flip flop and the company to supply them was to pick one of the two countries to supply, which do you think they'd first go for?
