uche393: Me I will be 25 next year, I studied marketing.
Undergraduate outside Nigeria is not easy from my experience.
My plan is to enroll in information technology or computer science in national open University.
This will give me the privilege to learn software development fully while studying and also working.
Since you are already in maths related you might start learning python development Thanks... I plan to take a couple of courses on udemy and use YouTube videos as well |

A little background info about me
I am in my early 30s, completed BSc Mechanical Engineering in 2013 searched and searched for job, nothing till I went for my MSc... From 2017 to 2019. I searched for jobs, got plenty interviews and tests, some I scaled to the final stage, some I was disqualified at the second or third stage till I eventually jus decided to stop applying for jobs. Even the one that I scaled through and was called to prepare for resumption, they later mailed me that my age is has disqualified me. Out of my disdain for the Nigeria job market, I have not even gone for my MSc certificate, although I had an Mphil grade. While I had a high passion for engineering when I gained admission, not getting a place to practice nor getting a work experience made me loose every passion I had for it. Currently I work as a freelance writer and to the glory of God I am comfortable.
Here's what I need advise with
I am planning to divert into another field entirely not related to engineering, via another undergraduate course. I am thinking of studying IT or computer science in another country. I will like experts in the house to advise me in the job prospects, not in Nigeria of course, I have had enough with this country.
What are the possible career paths? How easy will it be for someone over 30 years? Before I commit the next four years of my life to this parole... Pls advise me..
Thanks and I appreciate you all... Lalasticlala Mynd44 Kindly do justice Thanks |

Family › Re: Help, My Child Is Already A GENIUS @ 3! by Aremu01(m): 10:27am On Oct 12, 2021 |
ntrukpum: Hello friends, my daughter is very far ahead of her peers (class mates and outsiders) academically and otherwise. She started school when she was 2yrs. 3wks in school she had already knw how to write 1 to 10, A to F (I mean write not just to read).
Now she is 3yrs and she does things extraordinary. She can write 1 to 200, Aa to Zz without anybody assistance. She does her H/W alone, can read and spell two letter words. She sings a lot. I wanted her to play at least one musical instrument b4 she turns 5.
Two yrs ago, I had this vision of grooming "exceptionally intelligent" kids btw 9-12yrs to study outside their normal school curriculum. I mean a 9yr old kid in JS1 answering physics and advance maths question. Am still working on it. But my child is just 3yrs old and i am begining to be afraid. Married with two kids, an average of 30k monthly income as a private school teacher, I think, I lack the financial resources to push my daughter to where she deserves.
I need proper advice on how to guide her now. If you have the funds... Get that kid out of naija I beg you |

Travel › Re: Running Away From Nigeria: Is It Morally Right? by Aremu01(m): 3:25pm On Sep 29, 2021 |
Domino18: Yesterday, I read that Nigerians who are emigrating out of the country are celebrating and saying goodbye on Twitter. This news set me off thinking.
Clearly Insecurity seems to be getting worse in Nigeria. The trend today is that lots and lots of Nigerians are porting out of the country. The vast majority of those emigrating out are from Southern Nigeria. Again many of these are able bodied men and women. I want the people who are celebrating their emigration to consider the following questions and statements.
1). In the event of bandits and terrorists launching a full scale offensive against southern Nigeria, who are you leaving behind to fight for you? As you are running away, what about your loved ones and relatives you left behind? Do you really care about them?
2). Will you be willing to come back to defend your ancestral land if there is full scale war against Southern Nigeria?
3). Those countries you are running to was built by the blood of their citizens. They never ran away at the critical hour when they should stand up as true sons of their fathers.
4). For example when the British wanted to colonize America, the settlers didn't run away but stood up like men and fought and won the war of independence. That's the same America you are running to.
5). When Hitler invaded England, the English did not emigrate to America or their countries, they stood up and defended their land and their honor.
6). Even the Jews who were scattered out of the land of Israel to all over the world, even though they prospered in their diaspora, true happiness eluded them until they came back and fought, shed their blood and established the state of Israel as we know it today. They are still willing to die till today to defend their honor as men.
7). Back here in Africa, the black South Africans did not scatter to the rest of Africa under the cruel and bloody reign of apartheid. They stood, organized and fought until their victory is won.
. Finally, assuming God forbid the whole Nigeria falls into the hands of terrorists and bandits and Southern Nigeria identity and culture are obliterated, how will your children and subsequent generations judge you? A coward or hero?
9). Fellow Nigerians, let's have your opinion on this. When I eventually get out of this shithole I am sure my kids and further generations will be forever grateful to me for giving them a better life and future compared to what I had from my parent |
