PoliticsUK Finally Designates IPOB As Terrorist Group, Bars Members From Asylum by ArewaNorth(op): 10:10am On May 06, 2022
The United Kingdom government has finally accepted Nigeria’s classification of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organisation.

Following widespread killings and acts of lawlessness, the Nigerian government designated IPOB a terrorist group in 2017.

But some foreign countries, including UK, which IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, holds its passport, did not acknowledge the declaration at the time.

However, four days after the outlawed group beheaded an army couple, who were on their way to Imo State for their traditional wedding, UK acknowledged IPOB as a terrorist organisation, directing that it should be excluded from its asylum programme.

Although the killing, which sparked nationwide outrage, was not among the atrocities of the Nnamdi Kanu-led terror group the UK listed in its policy review document, the action was taken a few days after the murder.

The acts of the terrorist group listed by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), a division of the British Home Office, were the invasion of an All Progressives Congress (APC) meeting in Enugu state where a party chieftain was killed; attack on an Imo Police Station where an officer was killed; killing of Anambra residents during enforcement of ”sit-at-home” order; killing of some policemen en route to Anambra International Airport, among others.

All these attacks happened in January 2022 alone.

Last year, UKVI had released new guidelines to its decision makers on how to consider and grant asylum applications to IPOB.

But in a fresh update published on its website three days ago, UKVI made a U-turn.

“IPOB is proscribed as a terrorist group by the Nigerian government, and members of the group and its paramilitary wing – the Eastern Security Network (created in December 2020) – have reportedly committed human rights violations in Nigeria,” UKVI said in its policy notes.

“MASSOB has been banned, but is not a proscribed terrorist group in Nigeria. It too has reportedly been involved in violent clashes with the authorities.

“If a person has been involved with IPOB (and/or an affiliated group), MASSOB or any other ‘Biafran’ group that incites or uses violence to achieve its aims, decision makers must consider whether one (or more) of the exclusion clauses under the Refugee Convention is applicable.

“Persons who commit human rights violations must not be granted asylum.”

The policy directed that decision makers must also check if there has been a previous application for a UK visa or another form of leave, noting that asylum applications matched to visas should be investigated before the asylum interview.

According to the British government, establishing a convention reason is not sufficient to be recognised as a refugee.

“The question is whether the particular person has a well-founded fear of persecution on account of their actual or imputed convention reason,” it added.

For an asylum application to succeed, it said the decision-makers must consider each case on its facts, taking into account the legal status, profile, size, and organisation of the group/organisation to which the person belongs and its activities; whether a person in the UK would wish to continue their activism if returned to Nigeria (if not, why not) and whether the group/organisation has a presence in Nigeria as well as outside of the country and any evidence that it is being monitored by the government.

3. PYO
4. Amosun
5. Bakare
6. Fayemi
7. Bankole loading.....

South-East:
1. Umahi
2. Nwajiuba
3. Rochas
4. Ngige

South-South:
1. Amaechi
2. Akpabio
3. Ishiomole

North-West, North-Central and North-East:
1. Yahaya Bello
2. Badaru

Aftermath of APC primary election will be full of regrets, accusations and realignment though some information coming from the contestants indicated that some candidates are promised to be refunded their N100m for the forms they purchased and additional N40m to collapse their structure to other serious candidates. Jigawa state Governor is allegedly in collaboration with Fayemi to be his running mate if he succeed in the run up of the primary or is planning to be adopted as the candidate of Progressive Governors to be VP candidate of any Southern candidate who may emerge APC flag bearer.

Those from the North like Badaru are targeting VP seat in secret collaboration with Fayemi others are promised to be repaid N100m for their forms and extra N40m to collapse their structure prior to the primary election.

How do u measure development or backwardness?
Can u compare states created in 1991 with Jigawa state in terms of growth?
Can u ask those who have been to the state about what I mentioned?
I'm very much upbeat that u are among the dullards who measure the performance of their Governors based in their projects within a state capital only while neglecting other places.
You must be jealous of Jigawa state's luckiness for having workaholic governors.
Wake up and demand good governance from ur leaders and stop dreaming the good things from other states!

If North have the most performing public servants, why the increase in poverty and insecurity? Most of the insecurity in the south is the spill over from north. E.g Fulani herdsmen terr-orists.
In developing countries poverty has more index where there is larger population growth and North has despite being the most employable region.
Kidnapping emanated from ND around 2004-2006, arm robbery has been a very profitable business by criminals as far back as 50yrs or aftermath of civil war, communal clashes have always been in the South coupled with the recent cultism, ritual killings and other vices. So, don't accuse others for ur problem when in reality arm robbery is an imported criminality from south to North quite some decades ago.

The most remarkable achievement of this Jigawa governor since he was elected is the purchase of this nomination form...aside this Jigawa has never been in the news.
Jigawa doesn't need to be in news for the infrastructure that is very common in the state since the inception of democracy in 1999.
Under the leadership of Badaru, Jigawa built more than 1500km (93) roads across the state, he built Primary Health care of about 100 capacity in each ward across the state, he upgraded about 15 Primary health Care centres to General hospitals, free education from primary to secondary school including free WAEC & NECO fees, it has been a tradition of the state to send at least 100 students annually abroad to study Medicine, state owned university fee to indigines is N11k, around N15k in other tertiary education institutions, free medical care to check children and pregnant women, he built more than 500 schools across the state, he ensured that the state legislatures project is outlined based on demands of the populace by ensuring availability of pipe born water in almost all towns and villages with Jigawa people having access to available portable water than any other state in Nigeria, there is no LG in Jigawa that don't have good road network all over including major towns, there is no single bad state owned road in the whole Jigawa state except few FG roads, all LGs and major cities across the state enjoy street lights in the night hours to dawn.
No state in Nigeria can boast of the social amenities Jigawa state gives her 4.6m population in Nigeria. Jigawa doesn't make noise about infrastructure in media because of the antecedents of the workaholic work of their 3 past Governors. Jigawa state is the first state that established Galaxy ITT in 2001, the first indigenous IT company that gives internet services to some it companies in Lagos, FG agencies, Niger Rep, Burkina Faso, Chad and the first to established School of Information and communication Technology in 2001 when there was no degree program in computer in Nigeria which later send the school's graduated students to Singapore and later made the state having the best IT experts across the Nation earlier between 2001-2004.
Jigawa state may be a rural state but benefitted from relatively good governance than any other state in the Nation.
Fmr Jigawa state Gover Sule Lamido performed better than Badaru except in Health and roads which they're in almost close gap performance.

2023: Gov Badaru joins presidential race, purchases N100m APC form

Jigawa State governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has joined other interested presidential aspirants to contest for the seat of number one citizen under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He has also acquired the N100 million nomination form.

Governor Badaru, during an APC stakeholders meeting held at Government House Dutse on Tuesday evening, was quoted as saying, “I will join the Presidential race since everyone knows I’m a highly qualified person to do the job”.

The Governor was also said to have told the gathering during the meeting that he was pressurized to contest for the presidential seat by his colleagues.

His media aide, Auwalu Sankara, said his principal sought President Muhammadu Buhari’s blessings before buying the form.

Governor Badaru is now almost the number 12 in the APC seeking to replace Buhari in 2023.

Our correspondent gathered that the decision of the All Progressives Governors Forum to push Governor Badaru to contest for the presidential seat might not be unconnected with the fact that in case southerners pick their candidate from PDP it will pave way for the APC candidate.

Sankara further explained that his boss has the know-how to continue where Buhari stopped.

Is it not obvious how greed, over ambitious, divided, uncoordinated, selfish your people are?
Your accusations proved how gullible your people are. Accusing North for this has shown that u don't yet know the renowned "pull down syndrome" in the DNA of your people.

In 2014 APC primary election, Kwankwaso, Atiku, Buhari among others contested from the North but they knew were the dot lines will lead to, they never engaged in dirty politics, they may all be desperate but they put Northern interest over personal interests and presented the most sellable, the one with most followers; Buhari.

However, is it not obvious to all SW stakeholders that Tinubu is nursing Presidential ambition?
Look at how extremely divided and bitter to one another they're?
Look at the kind of words their followers are throwing to one another which may end up degrading the value of anybody who may emerge flag bearer of the party among them.

Accusing North for this is baseless, go back to the history and see how North supported OBJ when he was rejected at home.

Go and check how North massively supported Abiola when his fellow kinsmen tried hard to pull him down.

Check how beloved Awolowo, a Nationalist was betrayed by his kinsmen he sacrificed his life for.
On the other hand, North love Saurdauna and Tafawa Balewa like gods, their love is still fresh in the mind of Northern pupils talk less of adults.

How about we separate

what are you afraid of

Parasitic

For you religion means being unproductive parasitic and child marriage
Nigeria's GDP amounted to N152.320Trillion ($500billion), About 24 percent of Gross Domestic Product is generated by the agricultural sector. The largest contribution was given by crop productions, which generated 21.8 percent of the country's recent GDP.
Agriculture contributes to a significant part of the country's GDP. It is a key activity for Nigeria's economy after oil. Nevertheless, agricultural activities provide livelihood for many Nigerians, whereas the wealth generated by oil reaches a restricted share of people.''

Also, ''the agricultural sector remains the largest employer of labour in Nigeria, employing more than 36% of the labour force''.

Looking into the GDP of different sectors and commodities in Nigeria and assessing who control the major stake of Nigeria's economy: Accommodation, food, transportation and real estate: 12.2%,
Education, health, science and technology: 6.3%,
Farming, forestry and fishing : 30.5%,
Manufacturing, mining and quarrying: 11.3%
Retail, maintenance, repair, and operations: 24.9%
Managerial, finance and insurance: 4.2%
Telecommunication, arts and entertainment: 1.8%,
Other services: 8.8%.

Going by the given statistics above it can be seen that Education, health, science and technology, Entertainment, manufacturing, Telecommunication, Arts and Entertainment that your people may claim to have control are not up to 30.5% of the GDP contributed by farming and fishing mainly control and done by Northerners while all other businesses your people do, Northerners and other parts of Nigeria are either into them en masse or are the main actors.

Oil and agriculture are th bedrock of Nigerian economy, oil is a natural resource which Govt depend upon for funding her most budgets while agriculture provides major source of labour and feed the Nation. If this is the case, what can u be proud of a group of people? you mean the economy around u control by few people with the larger population serving the rest through corporate entities?

After 2015 General Elections winning party made permutations to share major seats in accordance with faith, voting bloc and region.
With Northern Nigeria leading in both chambers and Executives; APC supposed to make most of their appointments from NW, NE, NC and SW going by the manner of the ruling party structure. Among the 3 zones in each region, the permutation was made in such away that since NW had President, SW had VP, it was decided that NE would have Senate President, Speaker SW with Ahmad Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila respectively. However, the Southern usual pull down syndrome sabotaged the plan which led to the emergence of Saraki as SP and Dogara as speaker, North was so logical to have chosen a Christian Dogara as speaker from NE since they lost SP's seat to NC as planned by the party and also at the same time allocated a Christian Executives seat of SGF from the same NE leaving the supposed Speaker and VP slots of SW with only VP. However, SW was compensatd with the over 60% of PMB's appointments from that region with Ogun State alone having more appointments than the entire NW, the most important Ministry (Ministry of works, Housing and Power) was given to Fashola.
North would never afford to be so careless, insensitive to such kind of political situations!

For me it is a compatibility issue

everything you can possibly bring you can bring as a neighbouring country rather than being in the same country
You fucking religious bigot, go and address these issues before spreading ur cancerous hatred on others; Yoruba Muslims have been victims of political and religious persecution for a very long time. Muslim job seekers are asked to bring letters of recommendation from churches. Vacancies are shared in the churches to the detriment of Muslim job seekers. Yoruba Muslims are marginalised in political appointments both at the state and federal levels.
“For instance, a cursory look at the distribution of political posts in South Western states today will reveal heavy lop-sidedness in favour of Yoruba Christians. dividends of democracy not supposed
to go round? Must political leadership be special property of Yoruba people of a particular faith? It should not be so.
“At the ministerial level, let us cite the example of ex-President Jonathan’s period. All the six ministers appointed by Jonathan from the South West were Christians. This lop-sidedness made the Muslims visit the ex-president in Aso Rock where he promised to address the issue. This led to him giving Muslims two ministers out of six before the end of his term.
“As of today, only one state in Yorubaland gives clearly defined official recognition to female Muslim students and that is Osun State. Lagos allows it without an official statement backing the permission but at least it checks overzealous school teachers who persecute users of hijab. Muslims are on their own in other states as they face persistent intimidation, oppression and persecution in the schools.
“Although the Nigerian constitution gives Muslims the legal backing for use of hijab (Section 38 (i) (ii), Abuja continues to play the ostrich as Yoruba Muslims face religious persecution. We believe the centre will pay some attention if a Yoruba Muslim gets to Aso Rock.

Another dullard on display. How is everyone on the list u posted lgbos. U are so dull that u copy and can't spend 2 mins to read wat u copied. Usman jibrin, adesola amosu, aresa, CG abdullahi diko, nsa dasuki, andrew yakubu are lgbos. Even npa md Mohammed is lgbo.

Dullards every where.
I personally designed the list. Read again and I quote that "the list contained Southerners appointed by GEJ in most juicy positions who are mostly Igbos". I have vast knowledge of Nigeria, I was born and brought up in the North, working in the South and I have been to the nooks and crannies of this Nation to know different tribes of Nigeria either by names or by facial expression and above all I know most notable Nigerian politicians through my long journey in politics.
