In naija people have usually done the traditional marriage before church so does this nullify the marriage. |

CuteMercury: Power book two "ghost" episode one. 10/10. This got to be one top three of the best series in 2020 hands down. "Who tha fork is the brain behind the entire power franchise? The person got to be super street smart in real life. "the whole of episode 1 of the power book two got me breathless. "Great acting from all the casts.
"The point where Tacha mentioned Tommy in the court house got me like "what tha fork!!" one thing about power is that it gives you this one true life lesson which is. "There is no fair play in life" you have to be very very smart if you want to be at the top in life and you stay out of trouble.
"I can see that Tariq needs that fatherly figure in his life. he cant do it all alone because he might get himself burnt. he is smart no doubt but he cant win with the kind of enemies coming his way. "damm!! i cant wait for episode two. Jeez. Paragraph dude. Meanwhile I just watched it now and logged in to comment on the show. It was mind blowing. I already love method man. 10/10 for me and this is coming from someone who hates tariq. |

Politics › Re: Borrowing To Subsidise Electricity Grossly Irresponsible -FG by armadeo(m): 10:25pm On Sep 07, 2020 |
kikero: Yes, they were paying subsides for the power sector because that was the structure they met in place which was enshrined in law by the previous government
The previous government, while privatizing power, put in place a system whereby discos were forced to charge below the cost of production of electricity
This put discos in a difficult situation. As a result, they had to keep on rejecting power because they have been making losses due to the fact that it costs 53 naira to produce one kWh of power, yet discos had to sell it between 21 to 30 naira.
So the current government ended up paying discos subsides of a trillion naira each year, partly with loans to prevent them from losing money and collapsing. Even then it isn't enough because that just covers the difference between the cost of production and selling power
Of course, the current government could not reverse the system without falling into legal issues
Slight correction, subsides on power between 2015-18 amounted to a trillion naira , not trillion annually. The error is regretted One trillion naira. Jesu!!!! Truth is government makes some loot from those funds as no private individual will ever involve in such a business. The reason nothing works is that people benefit from the failure of infrastructure. |

Politics › Re: Garba Shehu: Successive Governments Lacked Courage To Remove Fuel Subsidy by armadeo(m): 8:57am On Sep 07, 2020 |
kikero: Yes it is. So long as PPRA is setting the price it is there.
Though, personally, speaking as someone who has believed that subsidy should have been gone since 2011, when my mind got changed on the issue, it is good if fuel goes to 200 and above
Reason being dangote refinery. Dangote needs to pay the loans he took to build that refinery plus pay its maintenance costs. I doubt he can do that selling fuel at 97 per liter, when it may cost him 140 or more to produce it.
At least, eventually we would have more refineries come on stream, and fuel prices will drop Market forced should decide things like the cost of fuel. You cannot be paying the same price for fuel in lagos awka and Kaduna when the fuel lands in lagos and is transported everywhere else. Its insane. My grudge is what has stopped successive governments from building at least one refinery in each of the geopolitical zones to supply the required fuel to them. Absolutely nothing but the lack of will power. |

BreconHills: Is it today that the load has been falling on the head of the poor, or is this the only country in which it does so? All over the world, the 1% rule their countries and determine who lives and who dies.
The difference with Nigeria is that our cages are a much smaller and instead of being made with gold or even silver, they are made of wormholed wood. Inequality and social immobility is a global problem.
Let the government just fix our infrastructure and get the h*** out of our lives. We will do the rest. @bold is what the average sane nigerian should want. Fix roads, power, education, health etc and Bleep off. Nigerians can and will do the rest. |

kikero: In a way, I am laughing at the APC government. Had they backed GEJ in 2012 on fuel subsidy, they would have, assuming they won in 2015 under that scenario, be reaping the benefits
Instead they have spent five years wasting money on subsidies, and now covid 19 has forced their hand
( Though I still remain suspicious. They are still setting the price. Subsidy is still there)
All in all, politicians use the peoples anger to get into office. PDP is already doing that now with an eye on 2023.... Subsidy is still there. They are just testing the waters. By december expect another hike the finall plan is 200naira plus. |

Moneyboyz: Mulan : 7/10 Not bad, I would be a little bit mad if I saw this in the cinema with my money cause it didn't give that premium feeling I'm looking for. Overall it's a good watch, not surprised it came from Disney anyways. I give it a 7. Also wouldn't have liked it in the cinema. But it was a good watch. Same storyline but mild deviations here and there not just a direct translation like lion king ( I havent watched that one till the end because I've seen it before). I loved Bori Khan. At the end where he kept sharpening is sword preparing to kill the emperor. Good presentation of his character Didnt recognise jet li though till the very end. |
