Politics › Re: Pray For Russia: Scary Picture by Armaggedon: 11:14pm On Mar 11, 2022 |
Owing to the way the sanctions are coming and it's media hype, it is no surprise the Russian economy will experience some shock after which it'll stabilize. Banning of foreign exchange, and introduction of stimulus package by the government is the best way to cushion the shock. And yes, Russia is too big and resource rich for the sanctions to bite the middle class hard.
Presently, the US and European economy is witnessing the shock with gas price and inflation at all time high, and some Western regimes including Biden administration could pay for the hardship at the polls at their next election.
Finally Russia's transition to Yuan and China focused economic partnership will hurt the west later by strengthening Yuan against the dollar and also providing a viable alternative for emerging and developing economies, thereby making future western sanctions ineffective. |

InvertedHammer: / High inflation. Then the Fed will be forced to raise interest rate. Like I stated, US has many weapons in her arsenal to formulate policies to cushion adverse effects in her economy.
/ US is running out of options. In the present case, they now sanction one country by replacing them with another country in their sanctions list. Imagine running to Venezuela or Iran for oil supply. Moreover, this rash of sanctions helps no one. It will easily lead to global economic recession and also bring the 'BRICS' together, creating a separate and viable economic sphere of influence for the Chinese. This will hurt the west in the long run. |

Isn't it funny how many mainstream Western media that run the story of Ukrainian soldiers and later it emerged their were alive. Some called it propaganda but it wasn't propaganda, it was an outright lie and fake news intended to decieve people.
The question is how many news channel was sanctioned by Facebook and twitter for posting such fake news since the conflict began? How many of such news was even blocked by their usual "fact check"? None
Yet many Russian news channels have been blocked by Youtube. |

CrownedPhoenix: I used to love Putin. The strong no-nonsense untouchable badass ex-KGB agent, man made of steel. A balance to world power etc etc
I thought and believed Russia to be non-expantionist. Loved that country for their resolute willpower throughout history. From the fire of Moscow to Stalin's snipers in Stalingrad, I have loved this country of theirs.
But in this past few weeks I have made time for reflection on the man Putin.
The respectable demeanor and aura he carried has been reduced to dust, revealing another power hungry, devilish Hitler.
I am horribly disturbed by his flagrant disregard for rules of engagement. One a KGB agent should know better about.
Declare recognition for parts of a sovereign State. And then decree troops be deployed into a sovereign state?
This is unacceptable by any standard.
What a low-life cunning way to invade a sovereign State. Some hype it as a game of chess. I call it con.
Watching a man I so much revered talking nonsense history and making an utter fool of himself on TV. Couldn't believe it's same Vladimir Putin I could argue to the moon & back for.
Except China who's waiting to play same script on Taiwan, anybody supporting this insanity just because they hate America should have his/her head checked.
He is saying all the Anti-Putin activists can gather in one place, declare themselves a sovereign State and have other nations recognize them.
He referenced how a country can not pursue it's security to the detriment of another country, what exactly has he just done?
Well, by this provocative action of his, if Ukraine doesn't immediately formally apply to join NATO, then something is wrong. what's the difference between this and what the west did for Kosovo? |
