The i4 on the other hand is underpowered, has tendencies to burn oil and can develop a stripped head bolt issue. Please, read more about the stripped head bolt issue of 2AZ-FE engines.

I’m talking from experience of owning a highlander with a 4 cylinder for 4 years and also repairing these cars.

Be careful so that you don't spend more than what you will spend if you simply walk into a car lot in Nigeria and buy the toks of exact same kind of car

In my opinion, it is better to walk into any car stand in Nigeria, do your due diligence on any vehicle you select, pay, and zoom off.. For less than a profit of 150k sometimes, the car dealer bears all the uncertainties accompanying buying, trucking, shipping, and clearing.. I think allowing him that profit is far better than having sleepless nights for weeks or months tracking vehicle from the abroad to nigeria, casting and binding wharf rats, etc.

Clearing and minor issues will be catered by me, I’ve really actually not gone to any delearship shop to inquire how much is a direct toks price, I think I should do that.

That's almost 400,000km though I am not worried about the car itself I bought one at 500,000km and used it for 8years still factory engine and factory gear.

But the 4cylinder highlander has the 2azfe engine known for extreme oil burn, I would prefer you find one with the V6 engine

Don't be deceived some high mileage cars (like 242474) could be better than a low mileage car. What matters is the maintainance that has been done.

If the high mileage car is Tok and you want to buy from oversea you can check If the car was bought brand new with one single owner (up on till the time of sale, if its bought brand new then there is good assumption that the seller maintained the car well and had good means (income) of maintaining it as it was bought brand new.

If the car is Nigeria used, well I'm skeptic about such cars because we don't really have good maintainance culture (except you know for sure the service history of the car.

Some factors to look out for

Brand:
Some brand and model of cars are work horse. If well maintained the life of a Toyota car (generally regardless of model) usually start at 242474 other model the life of the car start at 300,000 miles, same as the older version of Peugeot 504 and other cars.

Don't be deceived, most car you see at the dealers' car lots have had their mileage rolled back by half of the original mileage. Getting a car of 242k actual mileage is not bad.

My father’s experience, people are wicked fam.. just read

We have a family friend, we practically do things together, I and my siblings goes to same school as the other, same class and so on. My dad stood as a guarantor for them for a loan of about 2.5m then in his work place where he has been working for like 30years in 2012, these people opened a pure water factory and was doing well, unfortunately my dad got retired forcefully then in 2013 just about 2/3years to his retirement due to failing economy. The 2.5m was removed from his gratuity and pension. We were left with peanut. My family went from that to sorrow. After about 2 years when the deal elapsed, he went to meet this family friend, pay back this money.

They said they don’t have it, we started begging fr our money oo, my dad reported to their extended family and the family friend turn it to fight. That why are we reporting them here and there

The wife even threatened that if we take this to court, she will tell the court she’ll pay 10,k every month for the next couple of years till she pays finish and there’s nothing we can do.

It was so devastating, 3,4,5,6,7 years later still kept on begging, fighting, we stopped talking to each other, in between the wife bought a car rav4 Toyota 2007 and you claim you don’t have money to pay debt. This really angered my dad but there was nothing he could do. But God pushed us through those years oo.

Fortunately they had a change of heart this year and they paid half of the money this year, after we’ve suffered and they enjoyed, sent their first born out for masters.

Took them 9years to pay a loan they were supposed to pay in 2years and now my heart is hardened never to do that for anyone no matter who
