I have this friend of mine(name withheld),he used to be a teacher in a secondary school,but late last year he was given an employment opportunity through connection from his dad because the manager has this mutual relationship with his dad,my friend is intelligent,smart and humble,that's his character.

When he got a job in that company it has made him not to have enough time for himself, according to him,he works from Monday to Saturday,even risking his life by going to work on sit-at-home days since he's in the East of Nigeria, this has also affected his church activities, and he closes by 5 sometimes 8pm everyday, because the director I.e the owner of the company has mandated everyone to.

The company pays him moderately but he is loosing his peace,he doesn't rest well,stressed out,and according to him the director uses people slavishly in the company,the few months he has worked there the company pays lately and quickly deducts money in ways that are quite unfair,they give no leave to workers,they give you just two days to attend to some emergency like death of a loved one,you come to work even very ill and with a doctor's report.

My friend told me that he has been observing it ,the director is so bossy and talks down on people arrogantly and disdainfully, working there one day a worker lost his dad and had to attend to it,but unfortunately stay for 4 days, but when he came back, instead of to be sympathized with,he was insulted by his boss, queried and sent home, just for the day he arrived.

Now my friend is thinking of leaving there,but they promised him of juicy offers,in terms of salary, but being also affected by this,he thinks that that's not the right place for him,a place according to him has no medical officials incase of dangers or accidents,a place of no welfare package for workers,now he is in between trying to please his dad or quit the job no matter what,because he just told me that his heart is no more there....

But my question is;
Why do some companies treat people as slaves?

I've been dating her for over three months now, first day I saw her I didn't like her or anything, I just did some biz with her, had a short Convo and left, so along the line we got familiar and we exchanged contacts, went on a casual date, then she painted herself as a God fearing girl, who don't want anything with guys, then I asked her how come her relationship status isn't single on fb, she said she put that to deter guys, I was wondering what she's doing with me since I'm also a guy then she gave me a shocker, that immediately she saw me she knew God want us to be a thing.

Honestly I'm not a God guy, I'm not religious at all, but I have good morals, I have been single for long so I decided to give it a go and we started dating.

not long after that she came to my place, and one thing led to the other and we had sex, it was a very foolish mistake I made because we agreed not to indulge, at least for like three months, and barely two weeks into the relationship we had sex, then I started noticing changes, first she became possessive, like she always wants to know what I am doing, who I am with, where I am at, and I hate that, I don't like feeling like someone owns me but she would always throw a tantrum when I point that out.

Things started going bad for me, financially I was failing here and there, it was a clusterfvck, bad luck everywhere, but I didn't think she was the cause because like I said, I'm not religious, I just believed it's just trying times they come and go, but it started shortly after the sex, I'm just stating it because it's significant.

I'm not just a new member here so people shouldn't think this a stunt.
I have HND certificate in civil engineering. I've seek for jobs from a lot of places, even some nairaland members have promise to help some times ago but help isn't coming forth so I've think the best option for me is to stop d pain. I can't be at the bottom of my mate while everyone is achieving good tins.

Mine wasn't an ugly experience though.....way back 2015 when I was going back to school I decide to call my very good female friend with benefits girl that I'll stop over at her lodge to spend the weekend before leaving for school the new week.

She told helium to pay for a private car to pick her from Delta to Lagos and the time she would stay she won’t be able to cook but he should rather get food from eateries around his vicinity and she doesn’t have any new wears to put on so he should get her new clothes for her to put for the period of time she would stay. My friend was so annoyed that he had to ask her why she’s all about what he has and not the relationship itself and all she could say is because she’s a woman, she deserve it. She told him he shouldn’t act as if he hadn’t been doing it for her since time past and today shouldn’t be an exception thinking he must have got used to it. If is not going to do what she said she’s not going to come.
My friend was so surprised by the way his girlfriend is sounding to him. He couldn’t tell if she same girl he has been dating. I forgot to mention he has been the one sponsoring her education since her 100lvl in the university although she’s in her final year now waiting to graduate. He had high hopes of marrying her after she has graduated but as it is he don’t know where the relationship is leading to.

It has been two week now he hasn’t hear from her neither has she make any attempt to call him back. She has been ignoring his texts on whatsapp and Instagram. He is planning to go visit her in school this month.
