nairalanda1: In fairness, a lot of people had dom accounts long before 2014. Most where not savings,i have had that for a very long time, i only fund it for international transactions so they should count innocent citizens out of their madness. Can you recall the amount of dollars that where shared during election. Almost all the politicians transact in dollars currently especially the ones in abuja, iam giving you first hand info, aint capping!!! |
Politics › Re: Operation Rescue NR: FG Considers Converting $30bn Domiciliary Deposits To Naira by Artscollection: 12:15pm On Feb 03, 2024 |
nairalanda1: Well, a lot of ordinary Nigerians save in dollars
I was at my bank month before last to do some payments to a government agency via Remita. The remita counter was the same counter attending to people depositing and withdrawing dollars. The number of people comming in...not a crowd, but not small either.
At my working place, a few of my colleagues have dom accounts. Including people wey join the place after me self..lol. This trend started because of the clueless govt in power, i know How much i have lost in value of my money because of their clueless decisions so people are panicking. Fomo is real!!! |

This particular squad in power are very clueless, this kind of desperation will definetly keep investors out of the country and encourage more hoarding. They are too lazy to find a way of harnessing diaspora remmitance. |

The narratives that people are saving their money in dollar is a very big lie. It is still the politicians that are hoarding the dollar n it seems Nigerians forget in a hurry!! Again, how many dollars where shared during apc primary? The same idiots are now blaming innocent citizens or did i forget How they where sharing dollars in rivers state during election. |

MADIFF: Great move, how can a Nigerian living in Nigeria have his or her savings in dollar?
Even dollar sent from diaspora NIGERIANs refuse to convert and spend it rather wait till the price goes up and they cash out.
Our problem is not the land or the leaders but the orientation of average Nigerian so corrupt and self centered, always money oriented above humanity. You must be a very stupid fellow for exempting your leaders from the problem of that country. Stockholm syndrome is real!!! |

abhosts: Nigerians would never believe you when you tell them that the current economic hardships they are facing is deliberate and well orchestrated by evil APC. Think about it; if the current Naira decline was circumstantial and temporary, would FG be updating the official exchange rate for import duty to ₦1,356 which was a rate the Naira declined to barely 2 weeks ago in the parallel market? That guy at the top is very mean n wicked!!! That is what his supporters dont know about him. He doesn't care about nothing apart from using those idiots to achieve whatever he wants. |

Lets see how your fav met and left his state. Doesn't change the fact that your head is clogged, ask yourself How he generated the funds. Taxation!!!That is why it is littered with agaberos. Remove the seaport from Lagos, no innovation apart from the fact it was the former capital of nigeria,so many headquaters are domiciled there. |

Edocure: Then you are lying. Three of the four major contestants were former governors. Only tinubu and kwakwaso did fairly well as governors, we all know what atikus vp time was and obis time as gov.
In terms of educational qualifications, he dwarfs the rest.
Only in terms of corruption allegation kwakwaso stands out because as a governor he had less corruption allegations compared to tinubu, atiku and obi.
Are you not a nigerian? Your head is still clogged with aģbado, someone that attended a secondary school that was not yet established and what did he do in Lagos apart from taxinng the hell out of them. |

jmoore: Aba power is different from geometric. Aba power is the distribution arm, geometric is the generating arm. Geometric is not generating any power. Aba power get its supply from TCN.
Last year, geometric said it will start generating but they didn't fulfill it. That's why I said they should stop announcing plans. Let them generate the power first before announcement. Okay i was thinking they where generating their own power and what could be the cause of the delay because i know someone that was part of the construction team and he said the first phase was ready. I hope is not gas fees issue |
