Back then, we would have seen strong analogies from Nigerians home and Abroad, but today all u see when an importantt topic llike this come up is dafts booking space they will never use, or saying nonsense or out of topic.
Now the truth is that, for Nigeria to develop, 2 things must be done, if not we are just wasting our time. Buhari can't do any magic. By 2019, every thing will even be worst, Unless this 2 things are done.
1. true federalism, states with natural reourses, can develop their resourses and send certain % of fund to federal..... yl other resources shared with different %. 2. Economic power must go to States and/or regions and Autonomous LGA's while federal Govt should retain, military, police for now, CBN, Foriegn affairs. some tetiarry institutions and tetiary Hospitals as symbols of our National pride,
With this, in 10yrs, the story of Nigeria will be a proud one. problem is some Nigerians are not disposed to these points you posted.. |

ChimaAdeoye: My abooki friend getting angry because the truth was spoken, Please, Which part of the lion share that goes to Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, borno, or even Abuja was derived from selling beans, tomatoes, sorghum, millet or even Nama as you will have us believe? Shebi abookis pockets all the money they make selling all these goods to southerners, while they still turn around and insist on grabbing the lion share of oil which God gave to others that don't have massive fertile land? Lets examine this lie a little bit and see how the money from beans and millet has contributed one penny into the federation account. So if i plant maize after receiving improved seeds from Federal government, received the fertilizers free from Federal government, then i harvest my Maize, sell it and pocket 100% of the money, i can claim the money i made and pocketed is part of my contribution to the Nigerian nation? The agricultural produce are only useful when they are exported and foreign exchange earned from them goes in the Federation account. This had NEVER happened in the history of Nigeria. So why are you insulting the person that spoke the naked truth? Just asking, I think agricultural products known as cash crops were exported during the regional era in the 40s 50s and 60s before oil became the main foreign exchange era after the civil war |

Chosen1984: i don't think soooo! Alex otti needs all the Evidences he needs . I guess some good concrete Evidences would be within the inec establishment in the state. let me break I down for you If electoral materials used for obingwa elections are burnt in that inec building it simply means that otti would not be able to inspect the materials to see if results ballot papers were tampered with or that the thumb prints of voters were not done by one or two people..in general to see if the inec materials used in the elections matches the result announced for obingwa lga.... But guess what?those materials are not evidences per say..they are simply materials that needed to be brought to tribunal to prove which party is lying or saying the truth depending on inspection..so if there is no more inec materials for obingwa election then what backs up the 82000 votes written on the results sheet for obingwa?if there is noting to prove that elections were held in obingwa since the materials have been burnt the what do you expect a judge that deals with facts do? Nothing to back up your votes? Remember otti's petition is that no election was held in 4 lgas with obingwa inclusive..pdp insists that election held there..apga then says ok bring the election materials for inspection and pdp will now say the election materials have gone or no longer exist..what do you think a normal judge would do? |

Dollyak: They are, because they cannot fund it. Newyork contribute about 13% to the federal government. Do you think they can survive on less than 1% like lagos is currently doing? With more populations and companies, you tends to have more to do in terms of project and providing for people's basic needs. The roads is pretty relevant because OGUN state government is not getting enough to run the state despite contributing a large sum. You can't compare it to sokoto who only has teachers, policemen to pay. Are you a northerner or YORUBA? I need to understand the context behind your comments. I don't expect a yoruba or an Igbo person to say the roads is not relevant. You can't just give people peanut and say get on with it. I am pissed. ok I now understand your point |

Nature129: Why do you people care so much about universities when those who have graduated are busy roaming the streets of other states looking for jobs? Personally, I feel that building universities without building enough industries to absorb graduates means creating problem for ourselves and indeed Nigeria. Everyone must not go to university. Whatever happened to technical and vocational schools?
On the other hand, no matter what anyone thinks about imo being surrounded by Aba and Onitsha, I think it's important Imo builds her own industries not necessarily in Owerri but Okigwe or Orlu to create jobs for Ndi Imo and other Igbos. And who says we can't combine tourism and industries? Yes, we can because Lagos is a good example.
I just feel bad that S/East governors don't plan together. Why do we have to await federal govt to revive the coal in Enugu when we know that doing so as a people would create lots jobs for the Igbos? I think the governors can get a license (if that is necessary) from FG, pool their resources together, sign an MoU on how the revenue generated from coal can be shared, how the state indigenes will be employed, how much each state should gets, and what electricity if it will be used for power generation. unless fg gives Enugu the permission to explore the coal within Enugu then Enugu cant do shit so your talk about all se govts pulling all the resources to fund coal explorations is moot...there is a reason for the clamour for restructuring the country from what is obtainable.now to what federalism is supposed to be..i hope you know about exclusive list under the authority of FG? |

I may sound alarmist, and I do honestly hope I am,but little by little, gradually, as they all keep mute and allow d scammer and opportunistic politicians continue to disseminate false, hate filled and secessionist agenda, the region may steadily start getting insecure and its d part that doesn't make sense to me:d market closures, demonstrations, riots, destruction of properties are all taking place in the southeast itself, not that u are carrying your destructive delusions to other regions! Ultimately, then its d region u claim to want a seperate homestead for that u are destroying! Where will your people then return to if d southeast continue being enmeshed in one disruption, destruction and conflict after another? For eg,when kidnappings were rife in some southeastern states, many indigenes refused travelling home, even during easter,August meetings and xmas festivities. These have severe economic impact because of d revenue and money spent by returnees during these periods. In these days, many tribes, regions in the world think and plan economics, how best to attract money, investments and prosperity to their people, not archaic ideas of war, conflict or balkanization based on ethnicity. When it even succeeds, how far can u balkanize and for how long.No1pⁿⁿ] region can ultimately find joy until u balkanize down to probably the town or even village level. The southeast region with this Biafra radio and nnamdi Kanu stuff with regular disruptions to tradings and market is like a region that depends on tourism gradually making itself unattractive to tourists. you don't seem to get me..the enlightened and highly educated igbos are more living outside igboland than living in it..why?it is not so in sw and north..so that they visit once in a while might not necessarily cut it..i sm hope you dont feel I am for kanu or ipob judging some of things you wrote here |
