mandax: Apart Rochas dislike for Orlu, Rochas has been programmed by the status quo in Imo state as established by Owerri . The existing status quo is that no other town may urbanize in Imo state outside Owerri. Every new governor of Imo must abide by this established status quo.
Rochad has no business in Orlu. The only house he had in Orlu, he had since demolished it. He is building his living house somewhere in his dream city, Owerri. Every new governor of Imo state builds his living house in Owerri, and chases improvement of the dream city -finish.
BY the time Imo governors finish development in New Owerri, they may start a third Owerri Capital city, and no Imo lga outside the ones in Owerri shall have any new modernity. Bet on this. this I not a thread for these lamentations..go to Imo thread |

bushdoc9919: It is also a secular country.
At independence in 1948...there was a big conference...and the Indonesians decided to run a secular government....with full rights for religious and tribal minorities.
It is the same situation in Malaysia and to some extent Turkey.
And Singapore....not a Muslim country....has draconian punishments for drug traffickers too. I wonder why Asian countries are the targets for these drug couriers though |

Rochas 1st,Sulivan 2nd,Obiano 3rd.These are good governors. Enugu 1st,Owerri 2nd,Umuahia 3rd.These cities of pride in igboland.Adults behaving like kids. shallow..you don't rate an administration by the looks of the capital city alone but by the whole state. |

mandax: Rochas has a special dislike for Orlu, nobody expect Rochas knows how the dislike originated.. He even destroyed infrastructure that already existed in the city. By the time Rochas goes, nothing prevents an other Orlu zone governor emerging. So long as Owerri zone is capital and continues to refuse other Imo towns from urbanization. owerri not refusing anything?is it owerri people fault that rochas is not doing what he is supposed to do in orlu?abeg find another argument |

Ponponkon: what of Orlu zone with 12 LGAs out of 23 in the state,is that not large enough to continue to produce governor? Achike 8 years Rochas 8 years while the green and lush governor only lasted for 4 years. At the expiration of Rochas tenure,Mbano will do another 4 years after which Orlu zone takes it back for 8 years being large enough means nothing..there is no cultural affinity btw ideato man and egbema man though both are from orlu zone..obowu people voted against ohakim in favour of rochas 2011 and voted for okorocha again tho time..even a lot of mbano people voted against ohakim in 2011...are you the one going to put an mbano man there after rochas?did Imo people tell you they are interested in such thing?a lot of Imo people are not..internal dynamics of abia is not same with imo..so if orlu takes it back again as you said am I supposed to be bothered if he can do the job?has rochas being the governor solved the problem of orlu zone? |

The great Sam Mbakwe won the election as a result of massive support he got from we Ngwas and he did not disappoint, but unfortunately his Owerri zone is now in the minority and will not be able to produce governor again in Imo State,Ihedioha's failure at the pool comes to mind obowo is not in owerri zone but okigwe zone..really don't care where governor of Imo comes from as far as he can do the job...no zone in Imo is homogeneous like ngwa so that issue in largely moot in Imo..would rather rochas there than ohakim |

obyrich: God bless you for viewing Abia politics with an open mind. The problem with the APC guy is nothing less than being an Ngwa man. If Buhari were an Ngwa man, he would never win Abia election cause of the seething hatred with which our Igbo brothers hate us. The claim that T.A Orji is the reason for condemning Okezie is just a smokescreen to cover their hatred for the Ngwa man. If PDP had failed, why not try APC since it is the ruling party? was the apc man campaigning?someone that the deputy defected to pdp just before the guber election...how many abia people even know the name of the apc candidate? |

Kc3000: I hope people are beginning to understand that much of the resistance to Okezie was never about PDP, but about a deep-seated hatred some people have developed for the Ngwa. I do not want to caution them, because I want them to expose their true nature to the world. . . .'Ngwa are cursed forever, they are fools, they are the most worthless people, scum'. . .name it, and it has been directed at the Ngwa. They see nothing wrong in their disposition as they truly believe that the Ngwa is only suited for derision, and would tell anyone that cares to listen. Orji Kalu boasted that an Ngwa would not rule Abia for the next 50 years, and part of the reason he forced TA Orji on Abia was to spite the Ngwa, who believed they should have produced the next governor. I do not want to go into detail, but the Ngwa desperately sought this governorship because their so-called fellow Igbos had systematically schemed them out of everything in Abia state. It pains me as an Igbo man to say this. I have heard about this ouk jab at ngwa before but I have never seen anything whether newsonline or newspaper backing the claimed statement |

Gboliwe: Congrats to him.
His thieving godfather chose to build Abia Central, and was blind to Aba, the other Orji before the thieving one chose to build Abia North at the mercy of others. It's his turn now and he is from the most neglected part of Abia, let me see how wise or foolish he is. Atleast, his people voted him, he can't say he didn't work for them because they didn't vote for him.
I would literally relocate the capital city to Aba if I were him. Aba must be great again.
Congrats to him once again I wonder where guys get the idea that oukand ta orhi developed there senatorial zone...does igbere represent the whole of bende let alone abia north ? Does umuahia really look like a state capital to you? slap1: I expect the first new kilometre of road to be in Aba. The other governors developed their areas, I expect him to build Aba roads and shame the critics of Ngwa. the question also applys to you? |
