Yankee101: Trying to compare origins of Igbo vs Kano trading is a no brainer. It's a historical fact that trans saharan trade developed in earlier before Igbos came or developed their own trade
It's like Mark Zuckeberg and Microsoft. If you know their cross stories. we are in agreement in the bold..trans Saharan trade in Kano started way before igbos heard about Kano self..my issue is your assertion that igbos went fully into trade in kano after the civil war..no.. their population has increased no doubt but before the war the igbos in kano(of course way after trans saharan trade) were already into their own versions of trading |

Yankee101: Read the history of Igbo trading and Kano trading i have actually read lots of history about igbo migrating to Kano to trade..not saying they set the pace for trading in Kano no but saying it was after the war that igbos started gaining momentum in trade in Kano is false..in the 40s,50s igbo traders in kano had already started making their in their trade businesses in kano |

Yankee101: That's "historic' and colonial Kano.
It now boasts of one of the States with the largest number of millionaires.
They started trading with Arabs in the trans-saharan trade long before Igbos went into full time trade after the war disenfranchised them from government jobs and appointments. you are wrong here..igbos were fully into trade most especially in kano even before the war happened |

shadyLP: Augustine Chidi who warned importers to desist from bringing in illicit drugs, as it affects the health of the youth and tease them into criminal acts, stated that the arrested suspects linked to the 13 containers of Tramadol and Bleaching Creams would be made to face the wrath of the law. Illicit drug??
Tramadol is not an illicit drug.. Nobi person wey wey dey sick dey take drugs?? its only meant for the sick patients who needs it.. the only problem is d regulations and how it's been consumed by the useless wasted idiots who don't appreciate their good health conditions.. i dont understand the country any longer..are we operating on a moral level or legal level?i thought it was codeine that was banned?so what is it with tramadol now?have they banned bleaching creams? the way we do things here is funny as hell |

Esusustuffs: You guys don't seem to know anything about shipping business. That area is very notorious for piracy, kidnappings and militant activities. This will make shipping insurance cost very high. The same way people talked about calabar free trade zone back then. Upon all the noise and investments, ships don't come anymore. The cost of shipping 40ft container from US to Lagos is about $1500 while from US to Calabar is about $4500. Ask me why, it is because of the high level of piracy in that particular side of the Gulf of Guinea that makes the insurance cost shoot up.The same area Ibom deep sea port will be located. Make your area safe so that investments will come to avoid divestment. this seems like absolving the govt of its responsiblity..not like there was any issues with militancy or the likes in the 70s,80,and early 90s |
