Ndigbo check yourselves before you wreck yourselves. Nothing to be gained by passing off these crimes as 'Ngwa' crimes. Some people have even started stylishly suggesting that the 'Ngwas' may no be Ibos.

The current system of Government will not respond properly to this ugly issue until the Ndigbo elders speak-up & put pressure on them. And other Regions are not going to fight your battles for you. That has been the current selfish trend in Nigeria of today.
My friend keep quiet.Did anyone blaim other ethnic groups here huh

Owerri is very safe. Most of Nigeria did not know the level of atrocities in Aba.The bakassi boys killed more than 30,000 people but only those that saw it know.most of those people were petty thieves or innocent people. When people realised a tip of the iceberg was the case of the container in which 20 people died just because it was reported.I know almost the entire cities in Nigeria.Aba can only be compared with Benin in terms of crime as well as the involvement of the indigenes. As for Ikenegbu,Aladinma, works nothing dey happen there.I grew up at Ikenegbu when we had sumo, lotto, piano stores and some street bad boys that obtained.I can remember one called Egwuatu.
Guy e like like say be older guy grin.i no know where egwuatu dey now self.however the aladinma, ikenegbu and works self u knew in the 80s and 90s no be the same again.sometimes i feel that imsu wey dey locate there no just good at all.

@ asha, let the guy the deceive himself.I'm from Edo and i'v leave most of my life in the north. Apart from religious crisis i feel self in the north than when i'm in my own state. My friend just came back from the east and was complaining that by 8pm "ppl don enter house" and street becomes "dry". huh
When it comes to crimes anyway the north is usually safer than south.

I was in Owerri last week. The place is serene, as ever. The people are mostly civil servants, so you might mistakenly say they are lazy. As a matter of fact I'm moving over there tomorrow or next.
Guy i was born and brought up in owerri so i know that town wella.that the fact that it is seen as a civil service town does not mean criminal elements no dey cause trouble there.when i say they are lazy i mean they are generally laid back.

Aba has been the worst place in Nigeria for the past few years,

They have for over a decade now, concurrently had the very worst governors nigeria has ever seen. i'm talking about people that were known thugs becoming governors! !
(Orji kalu actually made the motor parks his private property in his time).
The city in general introduced fake goods world-wide ;They are lazy and the igbo get-rich-quick syndrome is
actually an ABA thing (for the info of those not from the east)

The road medians are heaps of rubbish of up to 5 ft running the entire length of major roads.
The schools have no teachers nor windows and most of the traders have relocated to owerri.
(i hope they dont mess up my serene town).

The armed robbers are predominantly ngwa boys who are lazy and hardened from their human butchering
persuations.

Their indigienes also account for over 90% of all the kidnappers in the entire east ;
My uncle has been kidnapped twice in Abayi ! !
i despice them greatly.
trash talk.

if they are lazy then owerri people are 3x lazy.

when last did you visit owerri to call it a serene town.

Asha, I did state that my view may be lacking, and my understanding, not that encompassing. I also stated that I'm speaking based off what I've seen, heard, read, observed, etc. So I don't know everything, and I don't know the whole picture, but from the much I gather, I made those statements. And its like I said, others are free to correct me, wherever they feel I am wrong. I have no problem with that, because I'm not all-knowing. I reside in the diaspora.

So, I'm sure others have a clearer view of the issues, or a different angle of insight, which I do not possess. I've acknowledged all that, but I'm still saying, what I posted are just my thoughts, from the much that I have gathered; from the much I know. I already acknowledged that I don't have all the details, although I am interested in finding them out.

This is one of the silliest posts I have read on NL. Do you know the difference between a governor and a president? Are you just ignorant or just congenitally impaired? In a federal system, the president will only react in a local matter after he or she has been briefed by the governor of the state , police and other security officials.
Also you should stop insulting our president, did you steal money with him? How do you know he is a thief? The next time you feel embarrassed by this country, ask me I will give you a list of the UN workers despoiled in South Africa in their hotel rooms.

Nonsense!!!!!!!!
The problem is that what is practised in nigeria is unitary system masqurading as federal system

ChinenyeN:
I could better explain them with some examples.

---- Regarding the issue of lawlessness in Ngwaland, the Ngwa seem to be putting their faith and hope in Johnathan to rectify the issue. I attended our most recent Ngwa convention and I listened in on some of the discussions that the adults were having. The only real effort that has been made so far is to write letters upon letters to Johnathan and draw up petitions to T.A. Orji, requesting government assistance, and then waiting for their responses. Virtually no talks about 'on the ground' efforts, by the Ngwa themselves to resolve the problem (there has been news about recent efforts by Onicha Ngwa community, but I don't have all the details).

---- In my discussions with, and observations of, other Igbo (and their discussions), there seems to be an increasing number of people setting their sights toward presidency. At the moment, it is Johnathan. People seem, at least to me, to be wondering how 'pro-Igbo' Johnathan really is. Even now, while focus is still on Johnathan, there are a number of people, such as Onlytruth & Kosovo, who are actively engaged on discussing an Igbo president. It is as if they seem to believe that we cannot effectively do for ourselves, until we put 'one of our own' in the office.

It all just seems to strike me as a high, or overly high dependency on government. To some, my understanding might seem lacking, and honestly, yeah, if my understanding is indeed lacking, then I can admit that. I can admit that my view may not be all that encompassing, but I'm just simply stating my thoughts based on the much I have witnessed and observed.

Others are free to correct me, wherever they feel I am wrong.
if you understand the structure and way nigeria is run you will understand that pattern of thinking(although i do not think in that direction).

by the way how do you think the ngwa themselves or onicha ngwa are going to confront kidnappers that weild war like guns?with matchetes or pistols?local vigilantes are almost always banned by insensitive governments when they sprout up because of the inept ability of police because they are seen to take law into their own hands(meanwhile government is not doing anything about the criminals)

If you must know the the police on ground take orders from IG of police in abuja and not from the gorvernor of a state.it is like LAPD taking orders from washington.

On the igbos waiting for government to help themselves people from other ethnic group will actually laugh at that kind of thinking.whom do you think built imo airport?government?Does an averge igbo person wait for quota from government to do something for himself?

some states give their students bursary or even schorlaship to study in university even abroad.have you ever heard an igbo state doing so?how many igbo people have you seen that rely on government patronage to survive?

guy think well

Igbo; [What I Think Is] Our Problem

- Too much time spent on [what I believe to be] trivial matters
- The increasingly pervasive "With Us/Against Us" mentality
- Too much effort spent (by some) on attempting to forge what simply isn't necessary and/or what simply shouldn't be
- [What seems to me to be] an overly high dependency on government
Just My Thoughts.
Care to explain that one?

Point to a Nigerian player that deserved it and was not given. Please don't tell me Okocha played better than Eto'o in 2003-2005.
When Nigerians were dominating it(Rashidi 1993, Amuneke 1994, Kanu 1996, Ikpeba 1997, JJ 2nd by one vote in 1998, kanu 1999 - 5 years in a row, only Weah came in 1995 & Hadji 1998, others were Nigerians), was it not the same Hayatou that was there.

The earlier we realize that our football, and players, has suffered serious decline and we are now only in the class of Zambia, Mozambique, Benin Republic, the better for us.

Yes the osadebeys, like other original indigence of the area are of Edo origin
The ancient Bini-empire encompasses those geographic territories. So in the

Don't mind them, there is something psychologically wrong with some of this Igbo fellows.
Could this be due to resdue of the after effects of the civil war? They seems to have a
peculiar need for revisionism. May be is due to their guilty consciences for causing the
calamities that befell them. Re-versing historic facts won't help, others have account
and records other than the Igbo. There are no Igbo homeland west of the Niger. Igbo
west of the Niger river are migrant worker/dwellers. Osadebey is not an Igbo name.

i wonder whether osita osadebe's fore father's were bini?

Compare maradona's touches on course to that goal and Said Owairan touches that led to his goal.If you remember just before Owairan reached the keeper a belgian defender's leg touched the ball and it seems deflect the ball a little back to Owairan's feet.

Off course maradona dribbled past Shilton and scored but Owairan shot the ball into the net.

Also remember maradona's deft 180 degrees turn to displace 2 english guys when he got the ball from enrique.
Sports › Re: Japanese Player Scores Goal Better Than Maradona's by asha80(m): 5:18pm On Sep 27, 2010
What makes maradona's goal special was the tournament and stage in that tournament where the goal was scored.Messi scored a similar if not identical goal like maradona but in the copa del ray against an average team.

I wonder if the UCL would have been glamorous today if the Bosman ruling did not come into effect.

Secondly to many club matches is beginning to affect players prefomance in summer tournaments these days(world cup, uero cup, copa america)

more names of thoe without world cup medal
van der sar, cech, toldo, maldini, nedved, deco, eto, kanu, ferdinand, evra, so mch.
all here excpt cech has an ucl medal
thisis to show u dat there are more winnes in ucl than world cup
I wonder if it should not be common sense since UCl is held every year and Wc every 4 years.
