una tire me. i thought nigerians had advanced beyond the necessity to prove the sueriority of one tribe or other. Christ! we sit here and bicker over what region has better education .the truth(and we all know it) is that nigeria is going down ; has been going down for god knows how long. methinks the ground is not far and trust me, when we hit, we ALL are going to hit HARD, at the same time- east, south , north AND west. It is what i have been waiting for .After all it was never really a nation in the true sense of it. |

There is power in numbers and until Nigeria looks past its ethno-religious lines we will continue to remain as is Continue to blame the North while they continue dominating Nigeria due to their united frontFor a matter of fact it is not just Northern leaders who are corrupt, but all Nigerian leaders. Stop insinuating that Nigeria would be any better if it had been ruled by the South for all these decades. I will trust a Hausa man/Northerner more than any other group in Nigeria! Yes and also inflict more acute poverty for their people. |
Politics › Re: Hausa As Petroleum Minister! by asha80(m): 10:39pm On Jan 27, 2009 |
It will be very difficult for the south to unite against the north because of the following reasons
Most igbos are yet to forget the 20pounds policy after the war thereby heaping hate rightly or wrongly on the yorubas in general
The perceived turn around of the of awolowo before civil war
The niger delta fear of dominance by igbos in which they feel more secured with the north as examplified by south south leaders holding a meeting with the north on how there can be more cooperation btw them some time ago.
Constitutional conference of 1995 where the south west aligned with the north to vote against resource control. |

Do not get me wrong. There are people who are 'making it in nigeria' but on the average nigerian economy at the moment is nowhere near the US economy despite the recession. All i am saying is that they should not come back expecting the basic necessities of life working because simply put they are almost non existent necessitating whoever is coming back provide these for him or herself. |

A nincompoop of your caliber can not draw me out of my academic shell to announce my area of academic discipline to the whole world through medium known as Internet. I have worked with and taught individuals from four continents for considerable amount of years in USA.
You are still being a stark idiotic Nigerian who thinks that mere mentioning of Oil Company conveys any iota of significance. Please hoard the name of this Oil Company of yours because I may be visiting Nigeria for site inspection and assessment. I do not want to responsible for a person losing his/her job. As matter of fact, people like you, who could not articulate properly, do not belong to the engineering profession.
By the way, a person not working in his/her area of academic profession does not stop the person as passing as one. Even in certain professions that required board certification, people still call themselves what the academic degree has confirmed on them. I know that a dolt like you have been parading your empty self as an engineer but never passed your EIT and PE exams. I bet you do not know or understand what I mean by the two acronyms.
I have to ask again for you to state specifically the discipline, school and year of graduation for verification purpose. I still consider what you are spewing out as hot air because you are inherently incoherent by the manner you write and have shown a trail of stupidity by the crowd you keep.
If your depilated brain above your shoulders would allow you to comprehend a simple statement that any company’s engineering department that hired you as a mid level engineer based on the gross point average you claimed that was awarded to you by one goofy professor, must be a crap.
If I am your interviewer and asked you to write about yourself on impromptu, and the so-called scholar in you submitted paragraphs like you have been sketched them on this forum, you will be hauled to jail by the security personals. |

If the idiot who made this comment did so some years ago or even 22months ago, 'maybe' there may have been an iota of truth in it. But rite now as I write, for anyone to make such an "outrageous" statement as this idiot has just vomited is purely a display of concocted lies. I doubt if he has ever visited Africa not to talk of Lagos, Nigeria. whoever told him that Lagos was meant for only 500 thousand people?? besides, I ain't saying there's no poverty in Lagos here, but WTF does he mean by 'unimaginable' poverty? Worst than Somalia and Eritrea I guess! Something we haven't seen before! Not even on T.V! And hear him, "blatantly corrupt government that’s not interested in putting any of the city’s oil wealth toward its people" Who also told the gay that Lagos was an oil producing state?
This guy is just a skunk! Are we supposed to be comparing ourselves to those countries? |

The truth of the matter is this is happening to every other ethnic group in the country. It is good that a yoruba person is noticing this about his ethnic group and saying something about it.Let every ethnic group talk about issues affecting them negatively.Igbos discuss their own almost every time. One thread i never forget is the one opened by Chxta when he said igbos are their own worst enemies. All manner of people entered that thread saying his or her mind.Sometimes in the past i wondered why igbos are always criticizing themselves and other ethnic groups did not seem to do so. |

this is a great sample of dirty mind and ridiculous state of mind. the same stupid mentality that represents the root of election rigging in nigeria. if south-south or south-east wants the next president of nigeria to come from their area, please kindly advise them to work hard and entice voters to elect someone from their area. long life democracy: nobody has the right to dictate or predict where the next president should come from. allow the great citizens of nigeria to cast their votes which ever way they desire. this is called democracy. presidential position is not honorary position; instead of wasting time/ energy dreaming, may be this is the right time for mikeansy and others to ask their people to work hard and discover a better way to contribute towards improving election practice in nigeria. again, nigeria is a country and not a village. The SE and SS should not bother to entice anybody to vote any one from there to become president.I can see the the result of the enticement that brought Olisiego Obulusonjo and Yaradull who have virtually collapsed the economy of the country. |

WORST PLACE
PG: Is there a place or places that you’d never go back?
CV: Lagos, Nigeria is definitely towards the bottom of the barrel.
PG: I would agree. Take a ride from the airport alone. It’s enough to make you want to go home.
CV: Oh it’s horrible. Well, I came in by land. And it’s all a permanent go-slow which is like rush hour … and it’s just people selling you stuff. Which is interesting on the road, but you’re choking on diesel fumes. And if you open the door, someone’s gonna try and rob you. It’s basically a city that was built for about half a million people and it’s got 15 million people living there. People camped out under freeways. … There was so much garbage piled up that people were digging like you shovel snow |

Ps.
Places were education is undeveloped require our immediate attention, not for us to point fingers and say "hah, you're 100 years behind, you backwards".
Tribal incitement and hate speech should really be seen as treason. And where are the educationally disadvantaged regions?I ask this question because the ethnic group that is said to be leading in education is said to be the ethnic that does not take education seriously.People always say that they prefer trading to education. So why would an ethnic group that people say prefer trading to education seem to be leading in education? |

What nonsense did you say, you are talking. You need God in your life. Without God you would be confuse. GEt him back in your life.
Go to yorubaland children are dropping out of school. can some one post the picture of lagos school. they sit on the floor. where is the money to build new class room or new chairs.
they can even pay for teachers. I know someone in one of the south west state that is a teacher and for about 8 month they never got paid.
The south west state have no more money to do any single project . They are broke. They go from bank to bank to borrow money to meet thier monthly duty.
If you talk about bad road. there is no place in nigeria that have bad road like the south west.
The north have stable electricity. But most part of the south west have not seen light for 2 or 3 month.
and after this , you now compare yourself with the north or igboland. Who have good school and they are leading in education.
Is it the light that is stable in Abuja , you want to compare to lagos where there is no electricity for 2 or 5 month .
Northern city and igboland city are far far modern than the old mud houses in the south west. In development. The north is 50 years ahead of the south west . Go to abuja , kaduna or kano and see, And come back to the south west and compare with rubbish building. Go to igboland too and compare with the rubbish of the south west.
Is it the road in lagos or ibadan or akure that fashola , akala or agagu is looking for money to repair. You want to compare with expressway in abuja, kano or kaduna or even port harcourt or owerri.
Or you want to compare akure stadium or liberty stadium with abuja stadium.
Look go and visit other part of nigeria and you see it is better than the south west. The south west is the most underdevelop place in Nigeria. Even igboland or south south is more develop than the south west. Please . The only answer is for us to go to the republic of been get develop. |
