realpoacher: EPL fan boys how far?
What do you have to say about Football.....extremely good football existing outside England?
What do you have to say about kick & follow, brute, rush rush, power, and 'anywhere belle face' football?
What do you have to say about Spanish teams dominating and winning the UCL 8 times in 18 years since 2000s?
What do you have to say about having an all spanish finals 4 times out of those years?
what do you have to say concerning spanish teams dominating the Europa leagues all those years too?
Or would you say that the second top half of the EPL cant stand toe -to- toe with their spanish counterpath?
when we tell you that football doesnt start and end in England , you lots wont hear...SMH
When we tell you to remove your tongues from the English ass, you lots wont hear
Ever wondered why no English descent or bred players never survived in other leagues?
the answer is simple....The English dont know how to play football....Their football orientation is wack therefore it cannot survived outside England.
Take Raheem Sterling to Spain, Germany, Italy and watch him flop
take Harry Kane to Spain, Germany, Italy, France and Portugal and watch him become a shadow of himself....this is not me being bais, rather the results are there for all to see...from Beckam, to others in the time past,....no English player ever succeeded outside England. Outsiders succed in England but not English players succeeding in other countries. Yet some English fan boys wants me to take football in England serious..... tufiaka....that aint happenning
For so long, Lampard was lured out to other leagues, He refused to go..., ofcourse he couldnt because he knem what awaited him
i have said it before and i will keep saying it.......the only reason why top English teams beat top teams from the backwater leagues is POWER & PACE!
With power & pace they bulldozed their way through those poor teams from the 'backwater leagues' while feeling 'funky' like they have arrived... But when they meet their mates, the top teams of the other 5 top tier leagues then they crumble like a pack of cards.
Do you know why they crumble?
They crumble because they met their match in Power & Pace but they fall short of TECHNICALITY, INTELLIGENCE, FOOTBALL SENSE
Yes!....English football lacks technicality, inteligence and football sense. They have no football sense thats why they play kick and follow football, thats why they play 'anywhere belle face' football.
Presently only Pep is playing football in England and the difference is clear. They say la liga is a two horse race yet they cant even beat the others left behind by Madrid & Barca. ...Doesnt tell you that if all English teams were in the Laliga, they will all be playing catch up too?
They say Bayern munich cannot win premeirship with 5 matches to spare,...the same Pep who was in charge of Bayern then is in charge of Man city today, see how all other premiership teams are gasping at straws.
They say la liga is boring but the EPL is the most competetive, the most exciting interesting, bla bla bla.... and i ask, why wont it seem interesting when 19 average teams slugging it out in mediocrity week in week out with the ever reliable English press acting as an event ORATOR praising them to high heavens, decieving them, keeping them perpetually disillusioned.
I repaet, English football in its original terms is CRAP!
The EPL is what it is today because of the Foreigners in it,... Take the Foreigners out of it and it will become like ukrainian league or the Turkish league at best paul ince did well in inter milan i think...not sure how to categorize hargreaves..yes played for england but not born and bred in egland but canada..father was of english descent |

somehow: That you both haven't seen or heard of names like this doesn't make it strange.
Did Amokachi not married a Muslim woman from Tunisia? what are the kids names? Nazim Amokachi, Kalim Amokachi.
You go to a country where a particular religion is major, marry there, then expect the names of the children to be different?
I have seen many names like this so its not strange to me or you even believe we don't have igbo Muslims in Nigeria even living in the east? they are but not more than 5% of the population..also amokachi isnt igbo but idoma |

He just needs to move to a bigger club to gain more recognition. another chance to repeat this beckons in the weekend..lets see if it will repeat. |

Icon79: Don't mind them let them continue to underestimate our players. Just a few days Mauricio Pochettino, one of the best coaches in the world, listed our own Jay Jay Okocha alongside Diego Maradona and Ronaldihno as 3 of the greatest footballers he has seen play the game! How many Nigerian soccer fan can accord Jay Jay such honors?
I used to underestimate our guys as well, based on the football clubs they play or don't play for, until after the Beijing Olympics. That tournament opened my eyes to regarding putting things in perspectives when it comes to evaluating our players. I believe that I had posted that revelation on this thread, if you make a quick search.
I think you're underestimating the level of Nigerian players due to the football clubs they play or do not play for. A few years ago I published an article in a Naija daily regarding a peculiar Nigerian perspectives in football: when the Nigerian U-23 team lined up at the Beijing Olympics soccer event final, the profile of the players could not have been more different from their Argentine counterparts.
At CD Argentina had Ezekiel Garay of Real Madrid, Nigeria had Dele Adeleye from the bench of Dutch basement club Sparta Rotterdam. Just over a year ago, he was at Shooting Stars, oscillating between Division 1 and 2.
At LB, with the responsibility of marking the dreaded Leo Messi; yes Lionel Messi of Barcelona, was Chibuzor Okonkwo from Bayelsa United, a right footed player converted to LB.
In CM, where Argentina had Riquelme, Gago and Mascherano, arguably the best DM in the world at that time, Nigeria presented Ebenezer Ajilore of Mydjtilland and from the bench at Sparta, Sanni Kaita. A few years ago, Ajilore plied his trade at Ebiede Babes, a Lagos youth club.
But as the game unfolded, the confidence of the Nigerian players and the cautious approach their opponents showed, belied the reputation and CV of Argentina's players.
This effectively proved two things, if you can believe it:
(i) that the club status of the Nigerian players does not accurately reflect their real quality; and that
(ii) a new measure is urgently required to determine the quality of our players; one that is not entirely dependent on the judgment of European club managers whose philosophy of the game and needs, vis a vis their clubs, may not necessarily be in alignment with the development of the average Nigerian player, or the SE.
Likewise I had argued with someone of this forum regarding Kelechi Iheanacho vs Ever Banega, when they claimed that KC isn't good enough to start for Sevilla. Well, we played Argentina a few days after that argument .... guess what? Kelechi scored 2 goals and Banega scored ZERO!
O pari kelechi scored one goal(the free kick) banega scored one goal(the free kick) |

if ebuehi will not be fit enough for the poland and serbia friendlies then he shouldn't be rushed into playing those matches because of the risk of aggravating the injury..after all they are friendlies..we still have may friendlies coming up and unlike joel obi he has been part of eagles qualifiers and so it not like the coach is going to see a totally new player show what he is made off. |

Icon79: Actually, I beg to differ on Modric. Modric has never been a great striker of the ball. He can dribble and pass, but shooting has never been his strong quality. His game mirrors that of Ozil. Now, if you're talking about Raktic .... that one packs bullets on both feet.

OK, when was the last time you saw Modric, Busquets, or Fernandinho scored from a freekick? Besides Busquets and Modric are not great in shooting either. And Fernandinho isn't that great in dribbling.
O pari modric and fernandinho can shoot no doubt but certainly not busquets as that is his weak point |

eterisan: Fabihno = status quo ( perhaps slightly better under pressure), Yes Can = utility player on a free? Sure. But he is probably not a great fit. Conditional yes. Diawara = if you play in Napoli's system you can pick ours up in weeks. So if it's a Napoli player at any position, the answer is always Yes! FDJ: Style, composure, temperament, technique, size, vision, skill, movement. He has it in bucket loads. Only downside being current competition. But his style strikes me as competition proof. An absolute Yes for me. Ndidi: A no for me. An average passer, with average speed, great strength and fantastic tackling. What he is great at will be wasted here, and what he isn't so great at will slow us down. No on Ndidi. Post from a man city forum... Link http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/members/delphinho.80474/....... We should drop this gwg tainted glasses abeg...... I love super eagles and wish our players well.... Onyekuru stats is like Yakubu Aiyegbeni scoring here and there without any medal to show for it.
Let Onyekuru use his goals to win something then we can begin to compare him with Simon Moses who has entered into the history books of Gent and Belgium pro league as the man who singlehandedly won the first Belgium pro league for Gent. |

Icon79: Thank you! That's his best position, to be quite honest with you. Mikel could be our Andre Pirlo at the World Cup. Normally, when a player begins to age (Wayne Rooney) for instance, he would be moved further down the field, where he could use his experience to control the game without having to deal the pace. In a perfect world, that what we should do with Mikel.
The likes of Iwobi, Moses, Iheanacho, etc can handle the AM role.
O pari i am not convinced on that ... yes mourinho for whatever reason preferred him there and conviced him to start playing there and national team coaches also followed suite..however if i remember his exploits as attacking midfielder in the under 20 championship in Holland and his performance also in the eagles in recent times where he has played as attacking midfielder then i begin to doubt if DM is his best position..i hope he is fully fit in this world cup rest this issue. at times that a player has played in a particular postion for most of his career and done well there might not necessarily mean that is his best postion eg lothar mathaus at italia 90 |

Oasis007: I do not need to ask coz it's obvious. You don't want him get injured while repping the Club that's paying him week in week out because of the World Cup - once in 4 Years Competition?!
You should be happy he's getting Minutes on the Pitch week in week out, Coz he's gonna get fitter and sharper, and the Form gonna be a huge Bonus to the Eagles in Russia.
If he loses his Shirt in the starting XI while not featuring on every Match Day, will you be happy?! We should be encouraging the Lads to be getting Minutes, instead looking for flimsy Excuse to justify their non-inclusion in the starting XI or Match Day Squad. totally at parallel with what i had in my mind but since you know you think what is in my mind continue |
