zinachidi: I don't agree. That's the most shitty proverb I've heard. So u want to tell me its better to know for certain your child is dead, than for u to have hope? I read a story recently, abt a new tenant(3days old, no contact details), who walked away with 3kids under 5yrs! I weeped for them! Where do u start d search? The mental anguish will be indescribable! Hope of what? Whats d probablity that those kids would be found? With death, u might have a semblance of closure, but with a disappearance, u wake up everyday for d rest of ur life, wondering what he ate, how he slept, how does he look like, running from babalawo to church(even when u know dey cant help u), and praying to even see him just one more time. U might not get it sha, but d proverb is not shitty! |

If juju is real, then I wish they use it for building good roads, schools, homes, better the society etc juju doesn't want anything good or benefiting. They die with the knowledge because it was and is a bad knowledge. Oyibo juju didnt get roads built! Africans are a race of pple who are quite superstitious and put too much faith religious deities. What we lack is men who have visions of developmental progress. Men who prefer to establish tv stations instead of using d funds to acquire d latest automobiles. |

In the West, the blinds can see, the deaf can hear through Cochlear implants, limping di.ck are made stiff again, IVF to the rescue, bone marrow is doing wonder for blood disorders such as leukemia and sickle cell, you live comfortable through hard work not money ritual etc stem cell and many unimaginable things but then what happened to my Africa ??
Africa, my Africa what happened ?? Africans didnt write n most preferred to die with their knowledge. If ur juju is powerful enough, d deaf can actually hear without cochlea implants, blood disorders can be reversed! If u've witnessed juju at work, u'll get it. Isiaku has many trucks also for haulage, there was a time he built about 57 duplexes with furniture's,and everything and started renting to people but people started complaining and packing out because they were hearing strange sounds of ghosts and babies crying in the midnight and Isiaku Rabiu was accused of being a ritualist. the estate is still in the north with nobody living in any of the mansions Probably in Abj. imustsaymymindo: If he or she is not threatened by the thought of break up because of some habits that can be corrected. Isn't the love questionable? For instance, if there is an extravagant person in a relationship and you have been telling the person to change but does not adhere because there is still enough money. If paradventure there is no money, wont this extravagant person leave you? You said it all though. There are always warning signals but desperate people ignore them and never talk about it.
I agree with you it takes two to tangle. Personally, I just feel a man should put extra effort in a relationship as a sign of servant leadership. Lets just pray, our efforts are rewarded!? Until we experience some situations personally, we can only speculate about our reactions to it. |
Romance › Re: 'okibe Olivia Aborted My Child'- Husband To Lady Who Regreted Her Marriage Speak by ashjay001(m): 7:30am On Aug 25, 2017 |
imustsaymymindo: You need to be assertive on certain issues. If you can't live with a woman that is addicted to social media for instance, make it clear with divorce threats or break up threats so she can know how serious the issue is, it is part of communication. You hiding under the guise of "It is her to decode whether she would change or women are now empowered" is withdrawal and would only hurt you emotionally and she might not know she is doing such damage. I opine that any issue of addiction be it addicted to drugs, phones, internet, social media, women or even some addictions that you think might not be a problem e.g being addicted to books, career, coding, films, food, church etc should be treated before entering into any relationship or marriage. There shoukd be balance in life and as a man, the head of a relationship, you should cordinate the activities of the relationship to the good of the both of you. For a good relationship, a man has lots of work to do than the woman and you need assertiveness for this. It takes two. And, threats dont work for some pple! A lot of couples are so desperate for marriage, they tend to ignore warning signals during courtship. We can only try our best, and leave d rest to chance. |

stevedre: I am absolutely not domineering but I command mutual respect when ever the need arises. By the way did you miss the part where I wrote sacrifice from the couples (not just the man) or you chose to ignore that part. As for divorce, we are losing our cultural values as Africans in our quest to look and act like foreigners thereby creating a comfort zone in our societies for things we used to frown at in the past. A good example is being baby mama, back in the days it used to be a big deal but now its not in Nigeria, I stand to be corrected though since this is just my personal opinion. Unfortunately, in marriages, one partner tends not to get d mutual respect memo! Reason for d numerous breakups. While u might see it as a breakdown of cultural values, I see it as a liberation, increase in economic activity n earning power of d women. From time immemorial, wives have been maltreated! A lot of early marriages stayed d course, due to d repression of d wives and their inability to earn support to stand alone. Nowadays, some earn much more than their men, and a divergence from d communal living, thereby escaping the public shaming n stigma attached to divorce, baba mama/papa, unmarried status n all. Marriage as we know it, is going down d drain. We're running out of those submissive ladies who will take their husbands as their 'lord', d alpha n omega of their fates! Imagine d case of Ahmed Musa, instead of d wife, a muslim by religion(with all d cultural connotations) agreeing to live with a junior wife, his right by religion, she left! |

Kirigidi: It should be we [Niger-Deltans] giving "Abuja" a defined percentage of our wealth and not the Federal Government taking our resources after which they give us a minute percentage in form of allocation. That is injustice! Why must every other region [NE, NW, NC, SW, SE] depend on Niger Delta resources for sustenance? The rest of Nigeria should go develop their own resources. As much as I get ur reluctance, to wanting to share ur God given resources with hanger ons, I really dont think u getting a 100% of ur allocation to urself will bring any improvements! Without oil, d SW was 1st among equals in progressive indices(cocoa board, tv station, UI), d North was foremost in agriculture(groundnut pyramids). Without oil, they could only have improved or progress forward! Yet, u with 13% of ur oil, still cant get anything done!? Seriously, I'm not trying to shame any tribe, just being objective!?
