So yesterday I went to an immigration lawyer to explain wat happened so he told me that he's 99% sure that my agent tempered with my bank statement that theres no way embassy or bank wld make such mistake..so he now asked me to go back to my agent to ask him once again if he did anything on it b4 we take any step on my visa....I left the immigration office, went to my agent on getting to his office I was told he was not around while waiting for him outside I got a call from a friend working in the bank that I should send a mail to gtb concerning the issue...I sent the mail after 30mins I got a call from my acct officer nd asked me to send the bank statement I used for my application..I sent it immediately. After 2 hrs I received an email from gtb and got another call from my acct officer.The first question he asked was that who uploaded the statement for me I told him an agent he now said the agent tempered with it that he added some figures to it which was not on the original statement that they av cross checked the one embassy sent nd the one I sent to him....I started crying immediately I called my agent, he picked nd I asked him if he tempered with...cud u believe this guy denied again it was at that point I tot of arresting him...fast forward we got him arrested around 5pm in the evening but got bailed out same day...I regretted using an agent..Pls house this should serve as an example to everyone planning to use an agent ooo...I have learnt my lessons oooo

Pls my question is with what happened now, can I still apply to Dublin probably next year?

Irish embassy is more crazier than the UK embassy so think twice before wasting money cos they have ur infos automatically .... Your agent has gotten you in a big shit and I am sure alot of people would learn from your case. Did you know some agents cannot even write their names? did you also know some agents wouldnt use Fake Accounts for their personal Visa applications? Did you know 80% of agents has never stepped out of this country? Na facts you hear so oooo.

Greetings my people. I need to gist you guys what happened on my recent journey:

On getting to Heathrow on the .... of January, I went to meet the UK border officer to stamp my passport, I never knew London will be on tier 5 lockdown that same day.
Na so questioning start o
1st question : why are you in the UK
Answer: visiting

2nd question : where will you be staying
Answer: with my aunty

3rd question : where is your locator form(I gave it to him).

4th question : do you know that London is on tier 5 lockdown?
Answer : I'm just hearing about that.

5th question: Did you fill her information on your visa application form.
Answer: No, because I just got to know after I got my visa that she is based in the UK through my dad's younger brother and we've lost communication for a long time

6th question: give me her information and telephone number.

7th question : 'asked some personal questions about me based on what I filled on my visa application form' (wrote them down).

Na so the guy collect my passport and return ticket and told me to sit in a mini detention center. When am sure I didn't use any agent and I filled my form myself and most especially I was truthful, I wasn't scared.

He left me there for like 40mins, he came back with another officer and requested for my luggage, we proceeded to look for it after seeing it, Na so searching start o. They only saw some food items and told me to pack my luggage, counted the money with me and returned all my properties back and told me to sign a form that I have collected my properties.

During the period of searching the officer saw my debit card and noticed my name was not arranged very well on the card( middle and first name where not arranged very well), thinking the card is not mine, na so I open my bank app on my phone trying to explain to him that the mistake is from the bank, he collected my phone confirmed my salary payment and also the recent transfer I did to my wife before he was satisfied.

The final stage was to call my aunt to confirm my story, Na so village people start again(my aunt no quick pick call) at last she finally picked the call and confirmed all my story exactly how I told them and also confirmed her status in the UK.

At long last the officer came back to me and was apologizing for the delay, he even offered to show me the way to where I will get a train to my destination.

Though, am back in Nigeria after the holiday but just felt I should let you know my experience.

If you are going for vacation, now is not the best time to go except you want to visit family members which is even risky because the lockdown is still on in the UK.

Assuming I didn't link up with my aunt, I would have been deported straight away because hotels were on lockdown.

Na so Baba God help me fight village people wey follow me enter flight go UK o.

Congratz that you were able to prove yourself at the port of entry but I am afraid you would have to prove yourself beyond reasonable doubts for your renewal.... I wouldnt say it's a mistake for you to have declared that you had someone in the UK when you had already claimed in ur application that you gat no one. You will have to declare during renewal that you've got someone in there cos ur info is already with the UK embassy... They are waiting for your application.

Good evening Giselle thanks for ur response. I used an agent but the bank statement used against me is my personal savings account. I collected both statement nd reference myself...The acct num ending is mine...I ll go the bank first thing tomorrow for the statement of acct from date of opening till date and also a letter from them

Let me not forget to tell you that the agent might have tampered with the account by increasing the balance with or without ur consent therefore ASK YOUR AGENT VERY WELL COS Once you file in ur complaints. the embassy would take the hard copy of the statements to that branch gangan that your account is domiciled to confirm the genuity... "Pls no one should quote me ooo". Dont private chat me .. I wont responde. Thx

There is difference between submitting an account collected from the bank without tampering and also submitting an account collected from the bank and reproduced at oluwole for boosting.

Infact I have heard so many cases of fake accounts at the UK embassy but to anyone who is planning to apply for UK Visa with a fake account... YOUR 10YEARS BAN IS READY FOR PICKUP.

Let me give you a clue of how ur account would be verified, The first , middle and last page of ur statement would be scanned to your bank head office for verification together with your passport data page so as to confirm you picture and signature. Some other bankers on here would attest to this.

once the account is confirmed as genuine then there is 90% assurance that ur Visa would be issued.

So therefore fight it if the account is genuine to overturn this 10years ban that has been packaged for you. Delay is dangerous.

I dnt like commenting on self employed people because for sometime now I hve seen differnt manner of assessment by the ECOs on these cases, what works for A might work for B and then C comes.. it wont work for C and vice versa

Self employed applications has no precise solution ... All you could do is to open a fresh bank account , assign a certain amount above 250k to be paid every month from your/any business account to your freshly opened account and ensure not using the account for any transaction other than your "monthly pay"... Not even a kobo must mistakenly drop into the account if that happens you must start afresh .....Do that for 7 months and you will thank God. Shalom.

Sure you are free to put in applications for your family with necessary documents including your copy of issued visa. However, be mindful that the ECO may or may not buy your afterthought reasons.

be careful and dont rush things, In ur application , you were asked a simple but trickish question that will you be travelling with anyone and you said...NO. my advice for you is to go alone first and return to nigeria.... after that you have no wahala. apply for your fsmz yhen

So shes due to deliver soon, she was denied American visa three times and as she had her two kids in America already shes so bitter that this third child won’t be born in USA. So she came up with an idea today, she said since she has a valid UK visa, she wants to come have the baby in UK, pay the hospital bills no matter how much it costs then get one of our friends who lives in Nigeria but also a british citizen (he lived in Uk for years and returned some years back) to claim to be her child’s father so he can give the child british citizenship. I'm sorry if you feel insulted but I'm certain I didn't because I had no intention to insult you. The statement I made is a fact that applies to all including me. I'm actually surprised to see that people do not see tax remittance as serious and advantageous to the visa application. For the record, tax returns are filed by companies on behalf of their employees as stipulated by law so it's not for business owners but for anyone working in a country. Like I stated before, I have my electronic tax clearance certificate (E-TCC) card and remittance records. It's my right and the company's obligation.

We obviously take it serious but once tax is deducted by our employer and it reflects on our payslip then we are 100% OK. whether our employer remitts to the government or not, its not our business or that of the embassy.

Are you saying we (employee)should be paying double tax? I receive 200k plus and my employer deducts tax at the end of the month and it reflects on my payslips but Do you advise i go to the tax office to make another payment? After my employer had done that? How much am i gonna be left wif? I know of so many applicants that has never submitted pay slips nor tax cert and after all they got their Visas. Just do the needful, if your employer deducts tax and it shows on ur payslip then no need for another payment. if you have excess money to throw away then pay double tax. To me it doesnt make any sense. Justwise..... Longest time.

Does your statement of account reflects that you receive your salary directly from the companys account? Or do you receive cash payment?

let your employer write them a letter and also attach some company's documents such as CAC / tax cert.

Your trick doesn't work for UK visa application no more, The present economic situation caused it all, how on earth would anyone want to sponsor somebody just for tourist sake, why didn't you include ur own statement of account to show that you have 20times the amount you paid in her account? It has happened to me twice last year on same appliction, I immediately called the US Embassy but was told to go make another payment Becos the mistake didn't come from them. One has to be extra careful when clicking Next and Yes button, there are times you click the button twice and it automatically skips an important page but To God be the Glory the visa was granted.

Just a quick question is it the normal for home office to call over once to confirm?

I invited my younger brother who is a student to come to the UK for holiday, I am the sole sponsor. I got a missed call last week from the home office with a voicemail. The next day they called and I spoke to a lady who confirmed my relationship with him.

This afternoon I got a missed call from a private no and the second time I picked it, it was a man from the home office asking questions about myself and my brother.

After coming off the phone, my younger brother pinged me to say the same man just called him asking thesame set of questions.

I'm a bit worried as all the time i have sponsored people to the UK I have never received a call from the home office not once not to talk of speaking with them twice.

Any experience or advice wld be appreciated.
