Do banks disclose account bal to third party( ECO)

Upon receipt of your documents, The Embassy sends ur bank statements to the Fraud department at the BDHC for verification Scanned copy of the first and last page of ur statement of account you submitted will be sent via email to your bank head office in Lagos to confirm the authenticity, The head office will now forward the scanned copies to their branch office to confirm if they actually issued the statement of account. The funny thing is just that most applications doesn't even get to that stage of verification before they reach their conclusion.
To ur question about banks disclosing ur balance to third party, The embassy is no more a third party, If you don't want ur balance disclosed, why did you submit your statement of account to them Lol

I hail all my bosses on here ooo, been a quiet reader all these while cos i've got no case to present, but would need ur attention on my friends issue.

His mother remarried another man after the demise of my friend's father and she relocated to the UK in 1986 and today she's also a british Citizen by marriage.

Being the First Son, My friend's mum wants him to visit the UK during his annual leave therefore I advised him to request for the following docs -
1. Invitation letter and her ppt biodata page
2.Her bank staty and payslip
3. Utility bill
4 letter from her work place
5. His father's death certificate

But would like to know if my friends step father needs to write any letter to show that he is aware of his wife's intention to invite his son since they are still together?

Thanks

[quote author=iliyande post=41911832]The embattled spokesperson of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday tore a statement he voluntarily made to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission regarding his alleged involvement in the $2.1billion arms fraud being investigated by the anti-graft agency.

Those familiar with the matter told PREMIUM TIMES Mr. Metuh tore the statement after it was presented to him by the investigating officer for endorsement, as part of preparations for his prosecution.

“Rather than sign the document, Metuh on realising the weight of his confession, seized the documents and proceeded to tear them,” one of our sources said.
He added that the PDP spokesperson later tried to stuff the papers into his mouth in a bid to swallow them when he was stopped by operatives who managed to recovered the torn pieces of papers from him.

Another source in the EFCC said the attempt by Mr. Metuh to destroy a major evidence in the case against him was an offence which could attract a separate charge in court.

“The tearing of statement is tantamount to willful destruction of government property and it is a serious offence,” the official said.
“Also the fact that he obstructed operatives from performing their job is also a criminal offence. We will explore the possibility of filling a separate charge against him at the Federal Capital Territory High Court.”

Politics / Re: EFCC Charges Dasuki And Dokpesi To Court by askari01: 12:13pm On Dec 09, 2015
DONSMITH123:
EFCC charges ex-NSA, AIT chair, Bafarawa, others to court

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday filed money laundering charges, among others, against businessman Dr. Raymond Dokpesi.

Also charged before the Federal High Court are: Former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki, former Sokoto State Governor Attahiru Bafarawa, former Minister of State for Finance Bashir Yuguda and former Director of Finance, Office of the National Security Adviser(ONSA), Shaibu Salisu.

The detained suspects were yesterday served copies of the charges, The Nation learnt.

Some of the suspects were meeting last night with their counsel, an indication that they might be arraigned today or before the weekend.

In the suit, which is yet to be assigned to a judge, Dokpesi is slammed with six counts, according to court sources.

The AIT/Ray Power chairman admitted collecting N2.1billion from the office of the NSA. The money, he said, is for media services.

Dokpesi is charged along with his company – Daar Holdings and Investment Limited.

They are accused of violating the Money Laundering Act, the EFCC Act and the Public Procurement Act.

Dasuki, who is charged along with the others, is already standing trial before the Federal High Court, Abuja for alleged illegal possession of firearms and money laundering.

There were strong indications yesterday that the accounts of most of the suspects had been frozen.

According to an EFCC source, who spoke in confidence, filing the charges “is a demonstration of our commitment to the rule of law”.

He said the EFCC would not want to detain all the suspects for long “because they are overstretching our facilities”.

“Their fate will now be determined by the court. It is the court that will decide whether they should be granted bail or be remanded in prison custody,” the source added.

The investigation of the $2.1 billion arms deals will continue in spite of filing of charges, it was learnt.

Although the details of the charges were not released last night, it was learnt that the EFCC chose to beat most of the suspects to their game.

“These suspects were already plotting to go to a High Court to quash the detention warrant issued by a Chief Magistrate’s Court against them.

“We have to move faster to checkmate plans to stop their trial.”

When contacted last night, Mr. Ahmed Raji (SAN), who is one of the counsel to the former National Security Adviser, Mr. Sambo Dasuki said: “My client has been served with the charges preferred against him. I am now studying them with his team of lawyers in preparation for the arraignment.”

It was gathered that the charges against Dasuki and others border on misapplication and stealing of funds.

Most of the accounts of the high-profile suspects have been frozen by the EFCC. None of the suspects has access to their accounts. We have placed Post No Bill (PNB) on their accounts until the court takes a decision.

“Their international passports are also with us to restrict their movement to the country pending the time the court will decide as may be appropriate.”

Dokepsi, who is on bail from the EFCC, was last Friday ordered to be produced by Justice Gabriel Kolawole (also of the Federal High Court, Abuja).

The order followed an ex-parte application by Dokpesi, who claimed to have been unlawfully detained beyond 48 hours by the EFCC. The judge, who heard Dokpesi’s lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) in chambers, ordered the EFCC to produce Dokpesi before his court on the next hearing date of December 14.

Ozekhome, who told reporters what happened in the judge’s chambers, said the judge also ordered the EFCC to show cause why he should not grant Dokpesi’s prayer for unconditional or conditional bail.

Dokpesi hinged his prayers on the grounds that no formal charge had been brought against him, over 48 hours after his detention.

The applicant said he went to honour a verbal invitation from EFCC on December 1 and had been detained since then after subjecting him to hours of “unprepared interrogation”.

He argued that the offences alleged against him “are ordinarily bailable”. He promised not to jump bail and not to interfere with witnesses or the course of justice if any formal charge is filed against him.

Dokpesi said with his social status, the court could grant him bail on liberal terms. Or on self recognisance as he has no criminal antecedents or record. He promised to attend court if eventually he is formally arraigned.

'she lost her handbag that contains her passport but a good Samaritan fond it but unfortunate for her that good Samaritan couldnt return de passport early as expected bcoz that good Samaritan has some issues beyond her control, she didnt inform the police because she already knows where the passport and other documents was..Bcoz she cant travel without her passport she explained the situation to her employers and because she has serve the company for more than 10yrs the company granted her further leave without pay to solve the problem. and during all these period in the UK she was been supported by her auntie who invited her to the UK.

It sounds like a super story, so if her passport cannot come to her, she couldn't go to pick her passport? She couldn't go report the case at the police station?? How did the good Samaritan now know the owner of the baggage Well...The good samaritan should write a letter with paper prove of why she held a strangers baggage with him/her for good 3 months, and couldn't take it to the nearest police station when found. Her employers are ready to provide a backdated letter to confirm that they granted her extention of leave without pay...but they have told her to bring up a story as to why she stayed more before they provide her with such letter and they have advice her to explain same story in her application...
Now the problem is what kind of story can she create to free herself...

I'll advise ur sister to enjoy her Christmas at home in Nigeria, for the fact that she stayed 3 good months in the UK when she stated 1 month in her application, she has shot herself in the Leg and the consequences of overstaying is refusal. They already knew she was actually working in the UK. My advise for her is to visit another country rather than UK... if she cooks up a story, I bet there won't be a UK paper to back it up, ordinary letter from her employer won't clear the mess.
Politics / Re: Does President Muhammadu Buhari Have A Conscience At All? FFK Asks... by askari01: 10:24pm On Nov 28, 2015
MizMyColi:
“Aside the 105 soldiers killed by Boko Haram, additional 34 soldiers were killed two days ago but it wasn’t in the news”– Deji Adeyanju.

I concur with Mr. Deji Adeyanju. The most heartless and reprehensible thing that our government could have done is to cover-up the fact that 105 of our soldiers were killed by Boko Haram a few days ago. To do such a thing is simply evil.

A soldier ought to be honoured in death and this is especially so if he died in the course of doing his duty and fighting for his nation.

The government has not only dishonoured them by not acknowledging their sacrifice but they have also buried them in the wilderness like rabid dogs.

This is wickedness of the highest order and President Buhari, his Chief of Army Staff and his Minister of Defence should bury their heads in shame.

Anyone that buys the lie and propaganda that the 105 soldiers never died and that they are still alive is a compound fool or a village idiot.

Will the military also deny the fact that a few days ago 34 of our soldiers were killed by Boko Haram? These boys died for their country. Why deny them?

I am outraged by the fact that a soldier will sacrifice his life for his country yet the citizens and authorities of that country don’t even appreciate it.

Pictures of the dead bodies were posted on social media. Everyone in the military knows that those soldiers are dead. It is an open secret. Yet because government denies it so many people just choose to believe them.

The truth is that Boko Haram must have used chemical weapons in the attack. When you look at the pictures of the dead bodies this is obvious. It was probably mustard gas.

All we want from the military is the truth. If 105 soldiers were not killed then how many actually were?

The whole episode happened last week in Borno State and the military authorities are denying it. I am sickened by that.

If others cannot appreciate the importance of honouring our dead soldiers, I can. I will not be intimidated and I will not remain silent.

Tell us where our boys are buried and if you refuse to do so we will keep asking. There must be accountability and respect for those who have made the supreme sacrifice just to keep the rest of us safe. Our soldiers deserve that much.

Finally, let it be said loud and clear that since President Buhari came to power he has not bought one bullet for the military. Considering the fact that we are in the middle of a protracted and very bloody war I believe that this is utterly shameful. If you say you want to fight and defeat Boko Haram then why are you not buying arms for your troops?

This brings me to other matters and raises other questions about our President’s sincerity of purpose and commitment.

You say that you are fighting Boko Haram yet you are travelling the world drinking tea with world leaders whilst your soldiers are secretly being slaughtered.

You say you are fighting Boko Haram yet you were nominated as their spokesman and chief negotiator two years ago in a proposed peace talks with the Federal Government.

You say you are fighting Boko Haram but the man you appointed as your National Security Adviser was retired from the army a few years ago for ordering the release of Boko Haram terrorists under suspicious circumstances.

You say you are fighting Boko Haram but the first thing you did when you came to power was to remove military checkpoints. This guaranteed Boko Haram free movement and access to the entire country.

You say you are fighting Boko Haram yet last year you told the world that an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the North.

You say you are fighting terror yet since you came to power Boko Haram has grown in strength, has regained lost territory and has been declared the “worlds number one most deadly terror group” by the Global Terror Index.

You say you are fighting terror yet since you came to power Nigeria, according to the Global Terror Index, has been declared as not just having “the first most deadly terror group in the world” which is Boko Haram but also of having “the fourth most deadly terror group in the world” which is a group that the Index describe as the “Fulani militants” and that we call the Fulani herdsmen.

You say you are fighting Boko Haram yet since you came to power Nigeria has been declared the world’s “third most terrorised country” by the Global Terror Index after Iraq and Afghanistan which were declared first and second respectively, whilst Syria and Pakistan were declared fourth and fifth.

You say you are a “born again democrat” yet you voted against the protection of human rights at the United Nations alongside Iran, Zimbabwe and North Korea.

You say you respect human rights yet you barricade Colonel Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser, in his home, endanger his life, deny him medical attention, flout court orders and make him critically ill.

You say you respect human rights yet you arrest Governor Boni Haruna simply for standing as surety for Dasuki and you try to force him to abandon his friend.

You say you respect human rights yet you raid Governor Attahiru Bafarawa’s home and arrest and detain his son simply because he is friends with Dasuki.

You say you respect freedom of speech and human rights yet you lock up Nnamdi Kanu indefinitely and your security agents shoot two unarmed and harmless pro-Biafra youths to death in Enugu simply because they were involved in a peaceful demonstration.

You say that you are a believer in the rule of law yet you ordered your secret police to storm a sitting governor’s official home in Akwa Ibom knowing that he enjoys immunity from such matters.

You say you love Nigeria yet a bomb goes off in Kano killing over 21 people and instead of coming back home to mourn with your people you continue junketing around the world.

You say you know how to run Nigeria but according to Paul Wallace and Michael Cohen of the United States magazine known as Bloomberg Business your “bounce has become bust”, your “policies irk investors”, you have “destroyed Nigeria’s economy” and you “do not have the capacity to move the country forward”.

You say that you know how to manage the economy yet stocks and shares have crashed, small businesses are folding up, our foreign currency has dried up, industries are collapsing, agricultural output has decreased, our foreign reserves have been spent and the value of the naira has depreciated since you came to power and it continues to fall.

You say you know what you are doing and how to manage Nigeria’s affairs yet the U.S-based Washington Times newspaper says that you lied to America about your so-called good intentions for Nigeria and that you have “duped the United States of America” with your false promises and empty words.

You say that you are fighting poverty, yet according to the Business Day newspaper, Nigerians are “getting poorer for the first time since 1999”.

You say that you will restore our country’s fortunes yet the fuel queues are back and the prices of food, transport and basic commodities are soaring by the day.

You say that you are a man of your word and after you were declared winner of the election you promised not to malign, persecute, witchunt, demonise, disrespect or go after President Goodluck Jonathan and members of his administration unless you have concrete evidence of wrongdoing, yet when you came to power you did precisely that.

You say you are fair-minded, true to your friends, loyal to your supporters and always reasonable yet you did not concede even one ministerial slot or approve one ministerial nominee of the two men that helped you more than any others to win the presidential election, namely President Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Bola Tinubu.

You say that you want the country to change, that you believe in fairness and equity, that you are a progressive, that you believe in a generational powershift and that you want the country to move forward, yet you are trying to destroy Governor Bukola Saraki simply because he won an election and became Senate President.

You say that you are fighting corruption yet no one has been made to face the music or brought to book over the 25 billion naira REMITA and Systemspecs scandal, and neither has the matter been clarified or resolved even though it has been established that the whole deal was struck under your watch.

You say you love Nigeria and all Nigerians yet your Fulani kinsmen, under the guise of herding cattle, are slaughtering thousands of innocent people all over the south and Middle Belt, yet you remain their Grand Patron and you refuse to utter to a word of condemnation for their actions.

You say you respect Nigerians yet every time you travel out of the country you spend your time telling foreigners and the foreign media how useless, rotten and corrupt your people are and how you are the only saint in Nigeria.

In view of all these, I am constrained to ask whether President Muhammadu Buhari has a conscience or is it that he has just lost touch with reality? Everything that I said about him during the presidential campaign has been confirmed and in just six months he has betrayed the trust and squandered the goodwill that the Nigerian people bestowed upon him in the March presidential election. I have to say that I am not surprised by this because his “change” mantra was just an illusion.

What he and his APC failed to disclose to the Nigerian people during the campaign is that what he meant by “change” was a change from light to darkness. Sadly our people trusted him and now he has plunged our nation into that darkness.

May God enable him to find the courage to retrace his steps before it is too late and may the Lord deliver Nigeria from those that are around him that fail to tell him the truth.

I gather that they call those of us who oppose President Buhari and that are PDP supporters the “wailing wailers”. That is an interesting expression because by the time Buhari finishes with Nigeria I have little doubt that the entire country will be wailing.

The truth is that I would rather be a “wailing wailer” that posterity vindicates than a “lying liar” or a “howling howler” who has lost his way and who continues to have confidence in a man like Buhari and a party like the APC that is hell bent on destroying our country and our cherished democratic institutions with their Rambo-like insensitivity and total ineptitude.

All those “lying liars” and “howling howlers” who voted for President Buhari should clap for themselves for the terrible mess our country is now in. We will remember them in our prayers too.

Hello all.

I have been following this thread and reading up on the processes. I made a bulk transfer (950k) from my company account to my personal account which is lower than the budget for the trip (budget is between 2000 and 2500 pounds for 10days). But then a client made a transfer to my personal account (780k) from his own personal account. Will this transaction affect my chances . Also I do not pay myself a monthly salary so I am not sure how much I should fill in the income field.

Here are the documents I have ready:

Company registration documents
Company Tax certificates (2years)
Company bank statement (6months bal. 550k)
Personal bank statement (6months bal 1.4m)
Hotel Booking.

I plan to drop my application at the beginning of next month.

2. As evidence of your funds, you have submitted personal bank statements from First Bank and UBA, First bank with s closing balance of 1.1m, on the 27/09/2015. However, I note that there are a number of unexplained deposits shown in the account, for example, 800k was credited to your account on 18/09/2015. These deposit are inconsistent with the account history and your stated income. You may have not provided any evidence as to the origin of these deposits. I note that these deposits are also not shown as debits from the company bank accounts provided from First bank and Zenith. I am therefore not satisfied that these funds are genuinely available.

..........

My take on this is.

For decision 1, I am into poultry farming majorly, I deal mostly with market women and my workers can barely write, we really don't issue receipts for sales. I have tippers too that supply different type of sand for building, every weekend money is deposited by the drivers into the coy account, so no receipt for this.

For decision 2, I submitted two personal account, UBA AND FIRST BANK, My personal account in first bank, is like a saving and expenditure account for me, I use to receive non business related payments, gift from friends and families and general payments.

Now I am thinking Should I reapply?

Then I could add some sales receipt , must it be 6 months?

I could take off my personal account statement with first bank and just use my UBA personal account statement with a closing balance of 1.2m ?

Thanks

My friend, I want to guarantee you that if you can repackage your application, You will surely get your visa soon, but this is what I have to say .... Since you have a salary account and also a company's account , First of it all,

1.Go to your bank, give them a standing order to pay your salary into your personal account on a specific date and that you want it as (xyz &co, Novemeber 2015 Salary) for the next 6 months... Start this very month.

2. Avoid any form of huge payment that's above 50k into the salary account, even if you want to put it now and withdraw in 2 hour's time, Avoid it totally.

3. Pick one out of all these businesses .... We know in Nigeria we are jack of all trades but pick one ... you have tipper, U supply granites, You have poultry... You are just complicating issues.

4. Keep all receipts and invoices of all transactions

5. Concentrate on just two accounts and not 3 or 4 that will complicate things for you.

I applied in august and was refused based on a sum of money paid into my account in May... and that My salary was being paid in cash ... I am presently running my account now and this is my third month... Start now ,,, no hurry hurry .... its not how far but how well.

They might see it as a fraudulent way to obtain visa if the cash deposit or lodgement is not consistent with your bank history. It is not a wise idea to lodge a large amount of money into your bank account at least 3 to 4 month before your application.

Even 5-6months to ur application, avoid lodgements... better still, start running ur account till the huge amount doesn't show on ur statement of account again...
