Another thing that needs to addressed urgently is "BLOCKING or SORTING"in our higher institutions of learning. From Polytecnics, to Colleges of Education, to Universities. Is even worst than 'Sex for grade' because many lecturers, though not all are involved in this, both male and female, they use agents, either a student, mostly class reps, or even non students as agents who usually collect the money, from the students or give them an account number to pay money into.

If you do not pay the money, no matter what you write, your highest grade will be C or D.
If you write, what supposed to give you a 'B',you will get 'E'.

That is why many cannot defend their 1st class and 2:1, #sorting things, while the real people that merit the first class are downgraded to 2:1,then those that actually supposed to be on 2:1, will be on 2:2.

Have you ever wondered why most 3rd class degree holders in Nigeria normally come tops in their classes abroad, when they go for masters after PGD, or even get first class if they go to another another degrees abroad?Is because of those sadist, wicked, frustrated beings called lecturers in their schools in Nigeria, sitting on their matter.Many lecturers are very bias,they don't teach, mark the students scripts, with an open and objective mind, they are partial in their evaluations and this is killing our academics standard. They fail the good ones that cannot "sort" and pass the dull ones that can "sort". Even some rich parents of students in the Universities are not free from this rot,they even pay money to lecturers account as "gift",so it also inflences the lecturers decision when such student is being assessed.



Imagine a bank manager that is writing one of his first semester course in his M.Sc program, will just submit almost an empty script, he just wrote his name, matric number and course code and submit under 30 minutes for an examination of 3 hours, with 6 questions to answer 4,with number being compulsory. These are questions that involves serious thinking and racking of brain.
Then,later he will be in beer parlour and call his lecturer, Sir how work today, the lecturer will answer, o boy, you don see am now,no worry I don see your script, we go arrange am for you. They banker will transfer 20k to the lecturers bank account and when the result is out, the result reads "A (78)". These things happen live in my two eyes, real life story, 'not dem say'...

Students should be encouraged to speak up,have functional suggestion boxes in the school,like in VC or Rector office,students affairs, faculties,departments, SUG offices etc.


Is even worse for those doing their post graduates.

We have many STD and FTD graduates in our country today.
STD is Sexually Transmitted Degrees,while FTD is Financially transmitted Degrees.

My reasons are below:
1. Raising her salary from 430k to 850k,which is 50% pay rise means the person had been grossly underpaid for long,undervalued and less appreciated in the old firm.
2. If they increase the salary, what about the other benefits that comes with new job? Would they be increased as well?
3. Even if we often hear that salary is confidential,most often, it is not. The colleagues will get to know about the increase and such could cause tension and animosity in the work place. People know people salary, no matter how confidential. Is only a matter of time, afterall it is human being that works in your salary unit and they have friends.
4.Move to the new place to get new exposure and also career boost.It is a plus for you than staying in one place doing the same monotonous role because of money. Money alone should not be the determinant here. Your happiness matters too.
5. If by tomorrow, another company offers 1m monthly, is the old company willing to pay the money?
6.If there is job satisfaction, would the person be looking else where in the first instance?
7. Minus the salary, there could other reasons why the employee is seeking a greener pasture, have they been looked into? It could be relationship with boss, colleagues, when staff feedback are not taken for crucial decision making,rigid organisational process, and other matters that could be of concern.
8. What if he is a manager in the old job, and the new job is offering him a senior manager, so he should leave the new role and remain with the old role,when the new role will usher him into a senior strategic position in the firm.
9.The change of environment is good for his career profile,he will definitely learn some new things in the new place, as new roles comes with its own challenges,lessons,and also gains as well.
10.Finally, is going to make new friends,contacts,learn new tricks on the job and also have a vast experience, which money cannot buy. This will make the employee a dynamic asset,instead of staying behind because of money. With time,he will look back and know he made the right decision to leave. Honestly,talking about fencing is just relative. How many coaches of blocks do you intend to get. Then, is the land a dry land,semi swampy or a very swampy area, if it the latter, you need to use strong concrete as pillars, but if it is the former, you can still use blocks to form pillars after 10 lines of blocks, do a casting on top with small concrete,just to hold the blocks.

Then do you intend to plaster the fence or just leave it like that, do you intend to use wires, broken bottles or electric security wires on top of the fence or you want to leave like that.
Fencing alone does not guarantee you safety of the land where there is no valid documents to back it up.

I feel, your question on this subject matter is vague. Defining the type of land,as in the topography, if is a dry land or swampy area will be a big factor here, because different land types will need different type of foundation, the depth of the foundation, material concentration and fortifications. All these,add up to the total cost.
You cannot use the budget of dry land measuring 100*100 to work on a semi swampy area of the same measurement or even a very swampy area, these are things you consider very well.


So you need to know exactly what you want before talking about the cost. Define what you want to build as a fence. Is it a high fence, where people cannot have a view of the land from outside, or a low fence of just 4 to 5 lines of blocks, just to "secure" the land, or a mid fence where you can still see through from outside.

If you have the means, get like three 'good and experienced' engineer's or even a local bricklayer ,to get diverse views and budgets,(though some of these engineers are scammers and highly overrated) they will tell you the numbers of blocķs,cement,sand, gravel, (iron rods for pillars,depending on the land, this may not be necessary) and water,needed,then add the engineer's charges and labour, then choose one out of the three, hit the ground running immediately.
To me, 300k CANNOT fence 100X100 dry land. Even if you supervise it yourself, it is not possible, considering the current cost of materials,labour ,plus gate and other logistics therein.If you fence a land and do not put gate, which kind of fence is that, people can still have access to the land.

Avoid getting 'audio' quotations online.







If it is only the front fence of 100by100 minus gate, then you can do something meaningful with 150k.

However, I have reservations on some prices listed here. I don't think cement is less than 2300 per bag depending on brand and place you are, then as at 2016, I know sharp sand sells for 12k per tipper, i don't have the current price,then block is like 130 for 6 inches. So do your maths, plus and minus and you will know how much you need.
