OLAADEGBU:Islam? Bearing in mind that they all have Abrahamic roots. Why is one a religion and the other is not? And can you address the point I raised that we don`t get to see dubious Imam fleecing their downtrodden followers while leading a millionaire/billionaire`s life? |
You guys like to cause confusion for no reason. The Hive is not close to Westminster, so why would the game be cancelled? I guess somebody just wants to post something, that is what it is. |
gbosaa:Don`t mind them; a case of being too clever by half |
gbosaa:The £10 ticket is likely to be for kids and Old Age Pensioners. So why not tell people that adult tickets cost £25. I don`t think that is so expensive that it would scare people away. The way they put it there look deceptive to me, don`t you think? |
gbosaa:Wrong info. |
This your Christianity, with its criminal pastors, is not a perfect religion. How many imams do you know rob congregation in order to enjoy a private jet lifestyle? |
A couple of months ago I decided to check out the people and institutions Nigerian elites are following on twitter. The people you follow would give an idea of how deep you are. Three individuals stand out for me and El-Rufai is one of them. I think it`s relevant to point out that, he is the only one that follows Nairaland among those three Assemble 10 top leaders and you would quickly realise that the paths of each and every one of them is different. It would have been nice if all of them had finished with the world before starting with Nigeria, but that is not always the case. It was revealed a couple of weeks ago that the Netherlands is now the second most fluent user of the English language after the UK, I know that used to be Sweden El-Rufai knows about London and America before so what he has read online about the Netherlands may have contributed to his decision. If he is looking forward to re-election then he would still have time to put what he is learning into practice. A country is only as good as the leaders that govern and their degree of exposure. Merely living in the Netherlands is very educative. It introduces you to another leadership model. While in Holland, if it`s legally possible, he should go to their employment agency and register for work. Go to the estate agents and look for accommodation: cycle a bike to and from school and see how safe it is and why. Go and watch ADO DEN HAAG and see how much it costs. Of course, the school would arrange for sight-seeing, but it`s better solo Good luck! |
davidif:No! |
olayemi53:Learn to speak for yourself, ok? |
eph123:My brother, if the first citizen of Yorubaland could be promoting the religion of a country with which he has nothing in common, or lived in before, Haitians that live and breath the Yoruba religion should be seen as better guardians of our ancestral religion and culture. I said it elsewhere, this Ooni confirms the death of Yorubaland, as we know it! |
eph123:Maybe we should ask someone from New Orleans, or Santiago to help us out because the study of Ifa and Orishas is very popular over there; it`s actually the most popular African religion in the Americas. So when everything has failed in the cradle of Yorubaland, we can call the people our ancestors betrayed to tell us about our culture and religion. |
Dilapidated infrastructure is not as important as the curriculum content! Once they have peace in Borno, the rest would follow! The opposition used to criticize Awo`s free education on this basis, yet many people that benefited from it are doing well for themselves today. You keep on finding faults in every effort of others. |
eph123:How can he be promoting the Nigerian culture when he is not even promoting Yoruba culture? Once you don`t believe in Yoruba religion, you can`t talk of Yoruba culture; he is not really qualified to represent Yorubaland anywhere in the world, he is representing the corrupt king-makers that put him where he is. |
kelvainoij:You are welcome! |
sammyscholar:A common mistake is being repeated here. Be it in South Africa, Australia or America, we have a situation in which Anglo-Dutch rejects settled down in a foreign place to make a home for themselves. The way they saw and treated their new home was totally different because they had nowhere else to go. Colonial powers, on the other hand, were out to loot and rob so as to develop their countries back home. The Brits had Britain to develop ditto France and Belgium. Give them 100 years more, it wouldn`t have made a difference |
kelvainoij:Hong Kong and China are one and the same country. Hong Kong is an `autonomous` state under China. While China has over a billion people, the population of Hong Kong is less than 8 million, but English is widely spoken there. But you are talking of a place pretty far from home and one which musn`t be your first choice, all other things being equal Singapore is a city state of just over 5 million people where your hustle can easily become a criminal act. Not a country I will recommend for someone going to hustle unless you have a friend or family member there already Canada is in the West so it stands out among the countries you mentioned. Majority of them speak the language you can understand, even if regions like Quebec speak French. It has over 35 million people and the type of place you should spend your time trying to get to. So if you want to travel, this is the one for you. My opinion! |
Standing5:So which African countries would you say were ready or ripe for independence when they got it? Ghana became independent in 1956, if I may add. |
Standing5:There are people in their 80s and 90s today that helped to win independence for Nigeria, and provided excellent post-independence leadership. It was from the late 70s and early 80s that things started to go wrong when Obasanjo and Babangida, together with their useless generation, started political and economic robbery in Nigeria. What the two of them started, have continued till today. |

Talk2Bella:You are welcome! |
Talk2Bella:Every Nigerian is a capitalist by nature. Good advert! |
ttmacoy:Oh, we have now moved on to the UK? Post more video clips from youtube and goggle now. Most of this stuff are shown on tv to damage the thought process of people like you, and I can see that you are one of the victims. I`m intelligent enough to know that, in a country of roughly 200m people, somebody would behave badly, but what that tiny minority do should not be used to demonize the entire country. Are they also showing you that majority of men that go to South-East Asia looking for children to have sex with are mostly white men from Europe and America? Well, they would rarely show you that, they would rather show you the ugliness of your race. Next time you are made to swallow this poison from the western media, be good enough to tell them this: the fact that most paedophiles are white does not mean all whites are paedophiles. Bye for now! |
ttmacoy:It`s possible you helped Donald Trump to write his Islamophobic executive orders, but you are not in a position to influence how people understand it. Great that you believe America cannot do anything wrong, and congratulations for seeing all Nigerians as being responsible for their appalling treatments. However, your assumption of America`s infallibility is not supported by any practical experiences. The guy they described as Celestine Omin, a Nigerian software engineer on a work visit to the United States, was not using a fraudulent passport. More importantly, the son of Muhammad Al who is far more important in America than any of you lot, was not traveling on a forged passport, either. So if he could be a victim of racist and Islamophobic profiling at the point of entry, then it can`t be me that is getting the racial angle of this issue twisted. |
ttmacoy:I have criticized the government on the way they handled the South African issue, so you and I agree on that one Donald Trump doesn`t care whether anybody has a visa or not, as long as they are not white, anything goes! So deporting four Nigerians that have legitimate visas means nothing to them. If their visas had been fake, you would have heard it first on CNN and they wouldn`t have come back to Nigeria and proceeded to lodge a formal complaint. Those in govenment have done a fantastic job. I condemn them whenever they fall short, I have to praise them when they stand up for our country. Your country! Tell me the last time you lot condemn America for treating you or your country shabbily. It is the job of those in government to defend the collective honour and integrity of all Nigerians and they have done that on this occasion. Good morning! |
ttmacoy:Are you a fraudster, because it takes one to know one? |
The people that are born to be slaves are always difficult to govern, even when those in power try to stand up for them, they would still prefer that slavish status. Most Nigerians are born to be slaves. Kudos to those in government for this advice. |
You have been to Nigeria before and you can see that, like most African countries, foreigners have no problem staying or living in Nigeria. You already have a business background, that would come handy a couple of years down the line. One advice I want to give you is the need to invest on your arrival in Nigeria. You may explore this further with those in banking and finance. You need that investment so that you have a source of income even before starting to work in Nigeria. One of the reasons why this is important is that, your salary paid in Naira is going to be very small for you to live on, but with the returns from your investment you should be able to get by I Have seen one or two pieces of advice on this thread that are very good, but I won`t be the one telling you who to contact or not. Having people that would give you good pieces of advice would be crucial when you get to Nigeria, so don`t close your mind to those you meet online In summary, you can easily find a job in the broadcast media, but how much would that yield per month? Therefore, save as much as possible before you leave America so as to be able to invest on your arrival, which would make you have more than one sources of income to live on Down the line, you should be able to come up with a profitable business idea and become self-employed. Better when your business ideas emanate from your local knowledge of your immediate environments. Truth is, it`s always difficult to uproot ourselves from one place and start afresh, but I think you should be ok. Good luck! |
specter:Hope you are getting better. I have just spoken to Cyriacus. Lady was ejected from kirikiri after court`s decision to release her. She left prison in tears and no-one has heard from her since. He promised to do a new story on her maybe it could help to find her. Too many heartless bunch in our country of today. Anyway, fingers crossed! |
Op needs a visa in order to get a Nigerian passport. |

This is someone that used to collect brown envelop in Abuja as a journalist.. You are likely to be the most credible Nigeria, actually! |
newbornmacho:Let me repeat, Asians have better IQ than white people, why is it that Asians are not leading the world? Moreover, All the people that have the highest IQ around the world are mostly average achievers: rarely a president, billionaire or leaders of thought. Every village in the world has enough people to make them do well, but leaders among them must lead. In Africa, we believe more in God and Jesus than in looking for true leaders. We are doomed unless this mentality changes. |
