Foreign AffairsRe: Will You Miss President Barack Obama ? by ATERI(m): 1:19pm On Oct 28, 2016
People like Lucas seem to think that every intellectual is a leader. No-one would contest the intellectual capacity of Obama, but a leader?

Obama`s election was a public relation boost for the black man. No more, no less!

Obama was presented as a formidable community organiser in Chicago, yet Chicago has become the murder capital of America during his reign. America has the largest concentration of blacks in the West. African Americans are not just like any other blacks, they remain the most successful blacks in the world. What is missing is a good leader that would make them understand that they need a separate power structure to tackle their own peculiar problems- that is what is missing. I refuse to believe that if rich blacks in this community want to tackle endemic poverty among African Americans they won`t be able to do it. The problem is that they are waiting for the white power structure to do it for them-won`t happen!

The way America works is that, if Obama has shown the characteristics of a truly radical leader-a leader that can end the sufferings of his people, he would never have gone far in politics, definitely not in the executive branch. The white power structure needed someone they can use to advance their global dominance after Bush, and a clueless black like Obama is a perfect cover for that. But it`s nice to see that his western masters see his refusal to bomb Syria for them as his worst failure.

As a Nigerian, I know that no American President has undermined Nigeria more than Obama. But it is his determination to impose his homosexual culture on Africa that I find most un-forgivable. Growing up in Nigeria, I saw people that had the homosexual tendencies, but nobody was bothered by them and they bothered no-one, but to now say Africa needs to legalise homosexuality because that is what the West wants, I mean, who in his right mind, would behave like this?

One of the things most of us still continue to struggle with is what the western societiy is all about.

In London Priti Patel is the only non-white face in the cabinet of Theresa May. She is of Ugandan Indian heritage and now the Secretary of State for International Development. During the referendum debate, she would say, with a straight face, that immigration was responsible for every ill in the UK. As Secretary, she has been saying that aid should be linked to trade. What that means for Africa is that they have to buy British goods and services as well as hand over their economy before they can get the rubbish they call aid. Of course, this has been going on for ever, but no one has ever attempted turning it into a policy.
My point is, we Africans should know beyond any doubt that, the west only embrace people that would advance western interests, not African or black interests, so celebrating Obama or Priti Patel because they are senior politicians in the West is naive

Obama would leave office as the most important African American so far, then what? What is his legacy? What policies can we talk of that benefit Africa or African Americans? Oh well, Obama Care, I guess!
PoliticsRe: All I Want For My Husband - Aisha Buhari Opens Up After Explosive BBC Interview by ATERI(m): 12:47am On Oct 28, 2016
londonrivals:
The First Lady and wife of the president, Aisha Buhari has opened up on what she wants for the president following her explosive interview with BBC Hausa Service in which she criticized the Buhari-led administration.

Aisha Buhari while in Beneshiek, headquarters of Kaga Local Government, Borno state noted that all she wants for her hsband is the success of his administration.

She said: “What I am after in particular is the success of my husband’s administration and he can’t do it alone except with the help of the governors, their wives and all members of our progressive party.”

Speaking at the flag off of distribution of nutritional foods and household utensils to Internally displaced persons, Aisha Buhari advised wives of political leaders and top government officials to work with their husbands to help them achieve the best out of their administration.

She further attributed the success of the flag off food distribution programme which is aimed at distribution of food items and other relief materials to returnee IDPs to the donations by well-meaning Nigerians.

she said: “We thank almighty Allah that we have started fulfilling some of the campaign promises that we made. This is the essence of leadership; you make a promise and then fulfilled it. We thank my dear husband who make sure peace is returned to the northeast states.”

These are the 30 most globalised cities in the world chosen from different regions.

You are the one living in denial here the quality of life in Lagos is abysmal compared to world standards and you don't need any ranking to even deduce that.
We should seek for ways to improve it and not blaming others for our flops. The indices for assessment are clear.

Even if the list added twenty more global cities Lagos will still sink to the bottom.
The award for the comedian of the year goes to.....eaglechild!!

Their actions are always awkward. The only reason I think they should deport people from Niger is if they are involved in terrorism or other heinous crimes, apart from that, oh boy deporting them to me is just nefarious.
It is about symbolism; they are desperate to impress somebody that Nigeria can do deportation. Losers!

It`s funny how things unravel at times. Most of the journalists that work for western media also double as secret agents for those countries. I`m sure you remember the topic quoted by this correspondent because I saw the topic, but didn`t visit the thread. The fact that they go through all the topics on Nairaland is a confirmation of the importance global powers attach to the foreign affairs section of Nairaland. When the people that specialise in writing rubbish about Nigeria 24/7 hate the same being done to them, I think Nigerians would learn one or two things from that. Hopefully!

I have always seen the Anglo-American imprints all over Nairaland, especially the desperation to publish humiliating anti-Nigerian news. Well, with BREXIT God has dished out the best punishment for the UK. You said you want to take back control from Brussels, yet you are led today by an un-elected Prime-Minister who has no idea of how to go forward. There is no democracy without opposition, yet all the opposition parties in Westminster are in disarray. As predicted, Scotland has told you that, leaving the EU is not an option for Scotland, meaning the end of the United Kingdom is looming. So keep on monitoring Nairaland as your own country dies a BREXIT death.

No point wasting time with America, Putin is in firm control there!
TravelRe: Nigeria Deports 53 Illegal Immigrants by ATERI(m): 1:12am On Oct 27, 2016
Nigeria has no President, therefore, I`m not bothered. Nigeria should deport fellow Africans, only if the countries they come from have done the same to us. Africans have no business deporting fellow Africans, but if countries like Kenya and South Africa should take it upon themselves deporting Nigerians, we should make sure we pay them back in their own coins. Most of their citizens that live in Nigeria are pretty well-off, so they can do well when we send them back to the narrow enclave they come from. But idiots are busy deporting people from Niger, when did Niger deport Nigerians? When followers are in power, every pebble becomes a mountain!

Aruna Kadiri is a young man. we grew up together in Benin City, Ewah road to be precise. kudos presido
Please, if you are still in contact with him, tell him that many people appreciate what he is trying to do. In a nation of slaves, it`s always difficult to be the best brain around. You won`t see a Swedish student in Nigerian attire, yet slaves have problem with what he wears. Ohaneze and Oodua whatever have been in existence forever, yet if they kill their children abroad tomorrow, it is the President with dementia, foreign minister that is careless and ambassador/high commissioner that wants to be in the good book of foreign countries that they would expect to fight for them. So here we have a first class brain, who has not just worked out how the world works, but also what to do about it.
Alhough, the main reason why most inconsequential online bigots see nothing good in him is because of his `Northern name`. Now that you have told them that there is a bit of the South in him, they may change their tune.
Nigeria is blessed to have him as one of our citizens, and you need to convene that to him. Good luck!

doubletroublmum:
Sorry but these people are no real refugees. Refugees run from hunger and war.

There is no war in France. They could live there and integrate but they prefer to stay in Calais, hoping to get to UK. But why??

UK is not paradise. Infact only the language is easy (English) but you don't get support and jobs are hard to find. Housing is expensive and there are so many foreigners in Britain, causing the rise of racism. I've been there three times. Yes London city looks cool, but actually only the rich live in the clean areas. Some parts of London look like Africa, broken houses etc....

This people in Calais would do better staying there.
The Dublin Convention doesn`t envisage the mass exodus of refugees of the recent past. But if you insist that it should apply, then France is within her right to deport all of them back to Greece, Spain and Italy-which happen to be the member states through which they first entered the European Union

Sorry, France and the United kingdom have almost the same population, but France has the largest concentration of Africans in the whole of Europe. Besides, Scotland has one of the lowest population density in the EU. I do concede that London and South-East are heavily populated, but that shouldn`t be an excuse.

Fact is, there is no country in the West that feels comfortable taking refugees from a totally different culture, but politicians have to lead at times like this.
" YOU PAY £36 MILLION FOR CALAIS CLEAROUT", is the Daily Mail`s front page headline this morning. I have never seen the type of evil tendencies of The Mail Group in any EU country, and this is the main reason for the racism you talked about; fiction has long taken over from fact in the UK. Home Office confirmed recently that, racial attacks increased by 41% post-Brexit, how does one rationalise that?
Our humanitarian instincts must come to the fore when dealing with those that are less fortunate than us. Now that the only fair-weather friend in the EU has removed herself from the bloc, I`m looking forward for more solidarity.
TravelRe: The Dismantling Of The “jungle” Of Calais Began by ATERI(m):
The right-wing press of London would have loved to see all of them dead, but it`s the United Kingdom that is dying slowly but steadily.

Majority of these people left their countries of origin in search of a decent life, after western-imposed economic policies have turned their countries into a basket case. The population of all the immigrants in Calais is less than 10,100 but London doesn`t want them in the United Kingdom.

It`s important to remind ourselves of the fact that Germany has accepted over one million refugees so far.

London-built wall is going up in Calais to keep the poor refugees out. They have forgotten that neither walls nor media demonisation can stop the forward march of a determined mind that has nothing to lose.

Western countries are called political prostitutes and hypocrites for a reason! But it is nice to see that Russia is providing a modicum of check on the terrorists; imagine what this world would look like without Putin`s Russia!

A couple of days ago, Natwest bank informed RT that they would soon close their bank account in London, without giving a single reason for that decision. Well, that simply means that the Russian Television is doing a great job for humanity, and it also means that the days of BBC in Russia are numbered, unless that decision is rescinded with immediate effect. In Russia, the world has a fantastic counter-balance to western domination.

Long live Putin and all his rescue missions!

The punishment of God is not always about being dead and buried, it can mean that you find it difficult to re-marry because women are too ashamed of your name, it could mean that your mates in the military are allowed to lead the country in civilian capacity and you can`t. Most importantly, the punishment of God could mean that your children are too ashamed to call you their dad in public.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Misled Yorubas Into Political Slavery – Sen Okurounmu by ATERI(m): 3:18am On Oct 18, 2016
Senator Okurounmu has always been one of the sensible ones in Yorubaland, but that doesn`t mean he is incapable of making a mistake. Only a gullible person would believe that Goodluck Jonathan would restructure Nigeria. Besides, most Yorubas did not vote for Buhari because of Tinubu, rather they voted for Buhari based on Buhari`s reputation as a credible General during his first coming in the 80s. I said it before and I would repeat it again that, the GEJ brigade could have defeated Buhari if they had been patriotic enough to allow Ribadu to be PDP`s flag-bearer in the 2015 Presidential election. The selfishness they are accusing other people of, did not allow them to put Nigeria first when it mattered most.
The Buhari of 2016 has diaappointed many people, but that doesn`t mean we should give up or continue to engage in juvenile buck-passing.
Corruption and insecurity killed Nigeria under Jonathan; these two problems have reduced today. Don`t blame Buhari for your street crimes, that is what your governors must tackle
As to the tribalistic idiots, start to prepare your mind for the fact that a Northerner would be President of Nigera after 2019, the question is whether you would be smart enough to support Ribadu or not.

Below is a piece of news in the most authoritative newspaper in London last Sunday. According to the Sunday Times of London, " Britain has stepped up its landmark case against former Nigerian oil minister allegedly involved in the disappearance of more than $20bn from her country`s coffers.
Diezani Alison-Madueke, who has moved to London for cancer treatment, was arrested a year ago by the National Crime Agency`s new international corruption unit on suspicion of bribery and money laundering. She was released on conditional bail.

Alison-Madueke, 55, has denied any wrongdoing and has challenged the seizure of £27,000 in cash that she had at the time of her arrest
On September 29, Westminster magistrate ruled that the corruption unit could keep hold of the cash while it builds its case.

The former minister has hired BCL, a law firm led by business crime specialist Ian Burton. He represented Max Clifford, the publicist who was jailed for eight years. Burton also worked for Mohamed al-Fayed on his efforts to uncover information about the car crash that killed his son and Diana, Pricess of Wales. BCL did not respond to requests for comment.

Alison-Madueke left Nigeria last year as President Muhamadu Buhari swept to power on an anti-corruption platform. During her five years as oil minister, up to $1bn a month was allegedly diverted from the state through allegedly fraudulent oil and gas deal

The case is the first brought by the NCA`s international corruption unit. It declined to comment.

David Cameron branded Nigeria "fantastically corrupt" in a conversation with the Queen in May. Much of the ill-gotten gains from Africa`s biggest crude producer have been recycled into luxury homes and other assets in Britain"

Like seriously when did this man start watching football? Why hasn't playing for the national team cost other top players around the world their club's place?

Mikel is just average in terms of capabilities and skill and that's the truth, he isn't exceptional, no exceptional player is ousted from his club because of his national team duties.
When did Dimeji Lawal start watching football?

Exceptional players can be dropped for all sort of reasons-Yahaya Toure is a good example at Man City.
