banmee:Are you still a Nigerian, bannee? |
Bablo08:Better send this advice to The Mail Group in London; they rubbish Nigeria everyday. But I guess you have no problem with that, do you? |
nonjebose:God bless you! Nigerians don`t label Nigeria a developed nation and Nigerian newspapers don`t make it their pre-occupation to point out every negative of London. Always the case that, if you point out what is wrong with their country, they become angry. They should be doing that with the villagers of Africa that see them as almighty. The only thing that makes London better than Nigeria is that Obasanjo and Babangida were not born there. |
A Nigerian sees the real London and exposed it, some people prefer to twist the facts. So, if leaking Heathrow was a lie or joke, what about leaking houses or flooded streets after an hour`s rain? What about London pavements that are catching fire regularly due to lack of maintenance? What about the trains that are always over-crowded and people have to remain standing through-out their journeys after paying over £9,000 for season tickets from London to Birmingham? Nigerians only want to read about bad Nigeria, not about bad London. Funny on many levels! When I discussed the Metropolitan Police and their lack of professionalism, some of the people that argued with me ended up being beaten black and blue in front of Buckingham Palace, I was expecting to hear from them on Nairaland, but it never happened. The United Kingdom is a glorified Third World country, that is something Heathrow PR can`t change. You can`t have excellent infrastructure when you put profits first! |
walemoney007:He was in France for over a decade before relocating to the UK, so he is a a French/European citizen Now, Jamie Approaching, 36, hit the headlines a couple of years ago when he committed murder, only for journalists to discover that he already had 17 convictions before he murdered an innocent man. It was later revealed that Mr Cumming had 17 children with 15 women. He is a white man, born and raised in the United Kingdom. If a man with one wife and eight children should be deported, where would you suggest they send a white man born in the UK who impregnated 15 women without a job? My point is, in discussing a case like this, we must not lose our sense of proportion! |
That Dutch MP knows a terrorist when he sees one. He simply expressed what the silent majority are saying when it comes to Israel-Palestinian issue. Hypocrites condemn suicide bombers at dawn, then worship state terrorists like Obama and Netanyahu at dusk. All lovers of peace should condemn both! |
LeSudAfricaine:To be a giant, other African countries have to see you as one. How many countries in Africa see SA as more important than Nigeria geo-politically speaking? There is more to Africa than Southern Africa! True, not every well-populated country would become a super power, but virtually every superpower has a population of over 100 million...important info for SA Also important to point out that, Nigeria`s Continental acceptability has come at a price, not something a young nation like SA can displace through over-night bravado Then there is Nigeria`s cultural reach; don`t get me started on that one. SA stands no chance! Bye |
Msauza:Never mind; the best propaganda is served hot! |
LeSudAfricaine:Until Nigeria`s overwhelming power is unleashed on you, you wouldn`t understand. |
Msauza:Have you ever been to Nigeria before? |
Msauza:No need! You don`t want to compare about 10 regions with over 30 states, do you? |
Msauza:Msauza, the spin doctor! |
Msauza:Come on; you can do better than that! |
No foreigner can bring about lasting change in Nigeria, that is the job for Nigerians and Nigerian politicians. The first priority of Mark Zuckenberg is Facebook and America. Just look at Facebook in Noway if you are in doubt. |
Where are the noisy South-Africans? Better come and see one of the reasons why Africans see Nigeria as the indisputable GIANT of Africa! |
Since I have been in London, this is the first time I would hear of a black European behaving like this; it`s usually native Brits that raise children on benefit while shouting human rights. It`s therefore not a surprise that the right-wing newspapers are having a swell time splashing it across their front pages. And anything abroad that is capable of embarrassing the black man often enjoys priority on Nairaland. Anyway, UK has voted to leave the EU, so they don`t have to worry about isolated cases such as this. The Polish factory worker that was punched to death by white racists in Harlow, about two weeks ago, didn`t commit the crime of bringing one wife and eight children to London. Neither is the black Pole that had her hair set on fire on a Manchester bus! |
Would you have problem with me saying that, there are more poor people in Nigeria than, say Germany, for instance? If not, why is it racial to say that too many men struggle to know their gender in the West compare with Africa? Or do you have any basis for disputing that? I can see that there is more for you in this argument than you are telling me. How on earth can you discuss Genetically Modified Foods without mentioning a single negative; from the first word you typed to the last? You can see why I have every reason to accuse you of putting profit before human. When Americans started to lobby gullible Africans to embrace Genetically Modified Foods, it was the American Academy of Environmental Medicine that pulled the rug from under their feet when they started to warn American doctors inside America not to prescribe Genetically Modified diets for their patients. Their main reason was because animal studies have shown that Genetically Modified Foods caused organ damage, accelerated aging, infertility etc. Suddenly, American medical practitioners started to condemn its use, complaining that the milk from treated cows had more of the hormone that is linked to cancer. So what you are saying is that some scientific miracles have changed this, right? In the UK, a government funded study demonstrated that rats fed a Genetically Modified potato developed potentially pre-cancerous cell growth, damaged immune systems and inhibited development of their brains, livers and testicles. At that point, lobbyists stepped in and the government started to dilly-dally on this important research. When the lead scientist went public, he was fired! Please, our people have a lot to deal with already, don`t give them poison that would feed them today and kill them tomorrow. All you need to do is to state categorically that you have never heard any of the issues here before, with regard to genetically modified rice. Please go ahead and tell your audience what you know to be the side effects of GM rice before you force it down the throats of what your Western friends merely see as the biggest market in Africa. In the 1980s, Olu Falae told Nigerians that neo-liberalism, as preached by the West, is going to safe Nigeria-you know the rest. But we can still recover from economic poison, but when your food is toxic, it`s death, VERY SLOWLY ! |
And that wonderful journey to Africa has to be in black and white, so as to comply with the usual stereotypes. Disgusting!! |
Gerrard59:Scientists always claim to be certain of everything until a new research proves them wrong. Tell me any of your studies that were not sponsored by profit-mad men and bodies. As far as genetically modified rice is concerned, most studies have been inconclusive, but since it`s about profit making, you are happy to cast it in stone. Highly chemicalised western diets give westerners a lot of diseases, that leads to too many westerners being dependent on medication, and I believe it`s this combination that alters many things in their body. Now, if you have problem with my theory, then tell me authoritatively what scientists think is the root cause of too many men in the West having problem with their gender. Also enlighten me on the role of big pharmaceuticals and lobbyists in this field. No matter how stupid you think our people are in Africa, they know that no honest human beings can speak authoritatively on the effect or long-term outcome of anything that has been genetically altered. |
If you assemble 50 men in the West, 20 of them are likely to tell you that they are struggling with their sexuality, that is another way of saying they don`t know whether they are male or female. With our newly-found addiction to western food, Nigerian men would soon be the same. |
I like it when my people stand up for their rights |
A slave can`t afford to protest against his/her master`s ill-treatment! |
He should get in touch with human rights lawyers/organisation and sue the bastards |
thedarkside:Why is it foolish to enjoy the authentic picture of a pathetic stooge who has been out-classed and out-manoeuvred by a fantastic KGB man? Please don`t spoil the fun, even if you are a spin doctor! |
So, face-to-face is still better than 100 letters? |
God bless FFK and all Nigerians that are intelligent enough to know when to criticize their country and when to stand up and defend her! |
A massively disappointing piece! Anyway, the United Kingdom is not close to the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway when it comes to their standards of living. .But this notwithstanding, inside those three countries, people have a lot of respect for London. Reason? Just one reason, and it`s one reason alone: the role that United Kingdom played in Europe to end the Second World War. Brits rubbish the rest of Europe a lot, but it hasn`t stopped the rest of Europe from respecting London. Therefore, it`s very naive to see human development index as the most important basis for measuring a nation`s importance. Moreover, these arrogant and hating Nigerians, how many Africans have they lynched inside their country, and what price have African countries paid in order to solve our numerous problems inside Nigeria? Honestly, time for me to log off! |
Most Nigerians are tired of go-slow President! |
Which ones are the safest countries in the world? That is the question OP must ask himself, so if the safest countries in the world are the ones where guns are widely and legally available, then he has his answer. Good luck with one man one gun! |
The fact that FFK bows to no-one, makes him my favourite. And while pretenders deal with tittle-tattle, FFK deals with facts! |
Tonye has been neutral in his analysis, but there is no pleasing Nigerians! For a leader to get a pass mark, he/she must have done well, at least, in the areas of Education, Security, Democracy, Economy, Welfare and Morality Obasanjo started the economic policy that Jonathan embraced on assumption of office. It was all about privatisation and liberalisation, which is another way of describing the economic take-over of our country by the West. Once Obasanjo went for debt forgiveness, they told him that he would get that but he had to hand over our economy through the adoption of neo-liberal policies. Of course, BBC and our media never said a word on this, the noises were about the generous West forever helping Africa. Anyway, our people didn`t mind because they could get some low-paid jobs from foreigners inside our own country. Obasanjo paid off our debts and managed to save, but Jonathan did the opposite. Jonathan only knew how to spend till there was nothing to spend. Buhari`s plan was to redirect the economy and move away from neo-liberal policies. His mistake was to think he could do that with the co-operation of the West. That was an unforgivable mistake on his part. There is a secret agenda by the West to destroy our currency and Buhari and his team are not street smart enough to neutralize this. So I have to give it to Obasanjo on the economy. Democracy is all about how you get to power and how you leave it. It is about your attitude to the opposition and your opponents. It is about the respect you have for the judges and their judgements. It`s about your attitude to elections and the electorate. It`s about what you do with your power of incumbency and how much respect you have for human rights. Goodluck Jonathan is my choice when it comes to the most democratic President we have ever had. On security, education and welfare, there is nothing to discuss, they are all as bad as each other. I know that morality is a tricky one, but morality matters in leadership, because you must have a set of principles that are compatible with the aims and aspirations of your country. Somebody said character is destiny, therefore, leadership by example matters. Is there a relationship between what you are doing and what you expect from others? How decorous are you as a human being? Your general demeanour affects your immediate environment. How high is your sense of wrong and right? I struggle to find anyone I can applaud here among our former and current Presidents What I`m getting at is the fact that, Nigeria has never had a leader that we can say did well in the field of education, security, economy, welfare, democracy while in office. That is why I`m concluding that we are still waiting for a good and competent President in Nigeria. The struggle contunues... |
An open secret! |
