We have no political brain, that is why! That means we have no political leaders. That means our society remains disorganised. A disorganised society is easy to take over and enslave. We have everything, but lack of political leaders mean that we have nothing. We have excelled in every profession, but without political leadership, a country is nothing. All over Africa, Founding Fathers tried, but not good enough! |

specter:He is happy. Was telling me that his plan is to go to that court on Monday and see whether he could get access to her file. You working in a law firm should make things easier. Check my monika, his number is there for you. Would remove it once you confirm getting it. Thanks a lot |
specter:Sorry to hear that. Health is wealth, so make sure you are well enough to do this What the reporter told me was that he saw her last when she was about to leave the court premises. I asked him whether he would be able to establish contact with her because I`m interested in her situation. He was appreciative and told me he would do everything possible to contact her and give me feedback latest Tuesday. I mentioned before that I`m not in Nigeria at the moment so I can`t really be useful at this stage. One thing I can do is to give you the number of the reporter in question so that when meeting the young woman, two heads would be present- always better than one. Unless you have other suggestions I would call the reporter and let him know that I`n about to give his number to you so that you two can arrange the meeting together. Many thanks! |
specter:In touch with the reporter. Promised to get back to me by Tuesday. Bye |
I still remember Idi Amin`s English very well. It has to be the best in the world, not only in Africa. Dullards grading dullards! |
Nigerians, forever celebrating UN, World Bank and IMF jobs that would lead to nothing! |
specter:How u dey? Are we good to go? Any contact with the lady, or the reporter that broke the news? |
What is going on here? In one thread you said one Suleiman Olalekan was sentenced to prison for beating an actress. Here now you are saying one Suleiman Olalekan did this. Am I missing something? |
One intelligent student far more useful and effective than 500 political idiots in the Presidency! |
MARKone:Nothing would have happened to him if he were to be a Northerner, so the fact that he is going to jail at all is to be celebrated! |
specter:That is so nice of you. The only thing I`m not in a position to do at present is the leg work in Nigeria and all the logistic of setting her up. It would be nice if you can take care of that. Let`s assume we are going for 300k, just contribute whatever you are able because the running around in Nigeria is not going to be easy. I think our starting point should be that only two of us are involved, great if others come along, if not I`m sure we would see it through. I think contacting her now is the key. I`m really impressed! |
specter:That is great! I have read what you said elsewhere, she would need a mentor if she were to be on her own. So in total how much do you think she needs, accommodation and all that? God bless you! |
Most Nigerians know that the famous definition of Democracy as the government of the people by the people for the people, is not in any way relevant to Nigeria or Africa. It is a ruse! How can we see any government in Nigeria as government of the people for the people? No, it`s government of the powerful for the powerful. The welfare system is indispensable in a democracy. No two democracies are the same, but until the citizens of your country can have a sense of belonging that comes with the role the state has played in their lives, we shouldn`t expect loyalty or patriotism from the people. One of the root causes of the upheaval happening in the West today is the deliberate decision made by the West to cut back on social spending/welfare system. It started when Angela Merkel took it upon herself to tell other EU countries that Europe has 7% of the world`s population, but 50% of its social spending. She would remind them that China only spends 2.4% on welfare. So she wanted something done. That something is the austerity they are imposing on their citizens today. The West has not abolished the welfare system, just reduced it, but their citizens are not interested in that cut-back. Poor citizens are saying that, in a world where 8 richest billionaires own as much wealth as half the world`s population, why are you not asking those billionaires to give something back, why punish the poor? Now each and every time Nigerian politicians discuss leadership, what you will never hear is the welfare of the people. The money is spent on the law-makers and the executive. Anyway, let me make a suggestion. Any Nigerian that is celebrating his/her birthday, marriage, house-warming, graduation, naming ceremony, promotion, employment or whatever it is that makes you happy that day, come here and give a token to those that are not as lucky as yourself At the end of the month, we would give whatever we`ve got to those that need it most. So during the course of the month feel free to give whatever you can afford in cash, at the beginning of every month, we would give it out to those in need, starting from the end of March. Nothing is too small, guys! They say it is good to give than to receive, but that is so if giving is not starting a receiving process. In other words, the essence of this is that you absolutely want to give without expecting anything in return. Simple as that! It would be nice to have someone in Nigeria that would be handling this. Thanks! |
So after all the stories, is there a female here on Nairaland that can accommodate this girl for free? If you can, then let me know maybe we can set her up for something in life, even if it is petty trade! EgunMogaji has already told you that this happens all over the world, those that are unfortunate in life are the same everywhere. Some lunatics in the Presidency claimed to have identified some 200K Nigerians that are extremely poor and I ask myself whether there is any state in Nigeria where we won`t find 200k that are extremely poor. Anyway, the same Nigerians that are asking how we manage to get here are the ones that do everything on the basis of ethnicity and religion. Just a pity that it`s the younger generations that are suffering the consequences the most |
The most friendly lecturer is rarely the best academically! |
Single Mother Association, what is that about? Oh well, it should be for those not good enough for marriage and happy to be second best in the love department. Shameless people! |
This should test the boys. I understand the matches would be played at Craven Cottage. Should that be the case, I have one advice for NFF It doesn`t make sense playing your friendlies in the most expensive area of London, it doesn`t just make any economic sense. The Charlton Athletic stadium, popularly called The Valley, as well as Crystal Palace, known as Selhurst Park are far better options. Since these two stadia are located in a less expensive areas, your take-home pay would definitely be higher than it would be at Fulham. Besides, these two stadia are bigger than Craven Cottage, that means more spectators. It is something worth considering. Let`s hope that the choice of Craven Cottage is not because that is where hanky-panky is possible. Looking forward to the match. |
Muafrika2:Haha! Good night. |
Muafrika2:You like rubbing it in, don`t you? The Colonialists still control the tourist industry inside your country, don`t they? |
Muafrika2:Che! Black man sees colonialism in every conversation. Seriously, you are spot on. Trump was only interested in the largest market for America`s goods and services in Africa. No more, no less! |
Hbuyosh:May God crown all your efforts with success! |
Hbuyosh:Every lie requires additional lies in order to defend the first lie! |
Can somebody please tell Donald Trump to call Nairobi Asap-doesn`t he know that Kenya is ahead of Nigeria in all aspects? |
The US President that was sworn in on the 20th of January. is calling the President of the most important black nation on earth 23 days later, and some Nigerians are jubilating. What a people! |
The Association of American Universities conducted a survey that asked about 150,000 students at 27 universities about their experiences with sexual assault and sexual misconduct in 2015. More than 20 percent of female undergraduates in American universities claimed to be victims of sexual assault and misconduct, I don`t want to believe it`s the same survey that desperate bloggers are presenting here as Nigeria`s |
Once you figure out that there are more lunatics than sane people on Nairaland, then no comments would surprise you. Good thing is, most ladies know a good Nigerian when they see one. Good luck to her! |
Nigeria is not the first country in the world to have the type of situation we are facing today. When Presidents/PMs are not feeling well, for one reason or the other, they tend to want to either cover it up or downplay it. That is the practice around the world. Problem is, that has become very difficult in the digital world we live in today, especially when you have to go to other countries for treatment. Having said that, we need to remind ourselves of the fact that, PMB was elected by the Nigerian people to govern for 4 years, only the Parliament can remove him from office constitutionally before that tenure expires. He can also resign if he should become incapacitated. But what shouldn`t be happening is for people to be calling or praying for his death online. I don`t know of anything that can be more inhuman than this. Whoever is happy because of others` health issues is simply expressing his/her own wickedness President Buhari is not the best civilian President to have governed Nigeria, but he is not the worst either. I`m one of those that believed he could rescue Nigeria from the mess we were in, but the fact that he has not lived up to my expectations, doesn`t mean that I should lose my own humanity. If it`s true that he has prostate cancer, well, we all know what that means. I wish him and his family well. |
robosky02:The Champion he watched over and over were playing without 8 of their regulars. Once those 8 are back, we would be facing a different Cameroon. |
Trump was open with his agenda, Germany and the UK are adopting a round-about method towards the same policy. |
henryhemon:Can you remind me what that level is? |
escapefromusa:I`m always relaxed when people that are talking Nigeria down have never left Nigeria before. You can learn on goggle but not the context and reality. The very first room I rented in Europe cost me 200 Euro. Well, in Nigeria as an undergraduate I was paying 50 Naira for the room of the same size. In any food kiosk in Nigeria, I would only pay for fried rice, water would come with it free of charge, In Europe no free water, you have to buy it. In Europe, I can`t remember a bus ride that cost less than a Euro, when you do the exchange rate, that one Euro would take care of any inter-city journey at that time in Nigeria. Now this is what the IMF and the clueless western media and their lovers in Nigeria are getting wrong. Salaries are higher in the West, but so is the cost of living. Therefore, it makes no sense to go to town with Africans that are living on less than a dollar a day, because it doesn`t tell the whole story Another point has to do with the question you are raising here. When you scream minimum wage, who and who are collecting what? These are answers that are not on goggle. The discrimination that comes with the minimum wage is not on goggle. You asked the right question. |

he is walking away with a slap on the wrist. Dude look's like all those blue blood in the Army. NA should have summarily dismissed him, that way, they'll think twice before molesting a civilian, jokers.
