Anything that has ppl looking at God negatively cannot be to His glory. Hence He plays no role in such actions. But yet He orchestrates and plans everything and hence He has a lead role in everything including such actions... a paradox

Also, I reckon pastors should start screening ppl they put on fasts. Some ppl might be adversely affected by fasting. Here is a list:

Diabetics
Heavily pregnant
Recovering from operations/illness
Sick with certain types of illnesses and on medication
Breastfeeding moms

Prayers and worship... yes. That is a standard everywhere.

Partying and clubbing... yes. Most countries

Fireworks and displays.... yes. Western and Eastern countries focus a lot on this

Is it really? You could say there is a psychological side effect of starvation. This is specifically for acute hunger. Starvation affects sleep and starvation and sleep deprivation combined can play havoc on the mind.

Fasting is based on such ideologies. At a time when you are weak physically and exhausted mentally you are more likely to feel spiritual.

It is similar to certain rituals and religions that ingest hallucinogenic material to allow them communicate with dead ancestors, spirits and possibly animals. It is a psychological impairment caused by the drugs.

The mind is powerful.

Yes but what good is hope if you have to sacrifice too much to attain it. If the religion had few negative connotations and religious leaders were not enslaving ppl it might have been worthwhile.

Also hope can be negative too. Too much belief in hope and miracles can make ppl lethargic and this why some never question the status quo. Never question their pastors ripping them off, politicians ripping them off, foreign companies ripping them off etc.

It has created a lot. But it has solved a lot too. With every scientific invention there is always a negative. It has to do mostly with the applicatiin of science.

Most ppl feel more spiritual after fasting. The food and deprivation has a toll on the mind.

dekung: I once attended their one-week deliverance session and mehn it was nothing but torture session. You are supposed to fast 3 days straight without food or water. You pray morning, afternoon and night. You sleep for only a few hours everyday and you have to walk from your dormitory to the church auditorium 3 or 4times a day to and fro in order to attend the prayer session. The prayer proper is all about enemies from your ancestry: father, mother, in laws, aunties and the list goes on. In regards to the tithe pastors, 10% is a lot. But they have very unique ways to milk ppl. Are all those anointing oils and blood of jesus ribenas free? What about church literature, shows, music, sermons etc. Also they have special days for certain problems where seeds, offerings are placed.

If you total it all a dedicated fanatical xtian can spend up to 40% of their income on church related materials etc.

If you are referring to alive as in active then YES it is. If you mean as in a lifeform then NO. It is not classified as such. I believe there mght be forms of life we may not yet understand. Our current interpretations of what is a lifeform is based on what we experience on earth. We are yet to encounter and appropriately classify extra-terrestial life.

We cannot classify it as life. Iif there is life in light it would be a new discovery. Also energy+mass does not necessarily guarantee life. The sun is not alive.

Light has specific properties but so far no mass. There are experiments that highlight it might have mass but it is too small to measure accurately.
