So I see the xtians are buckling under their own weight lol.

All this is a defence mechanism. We constantly get ridiculed and called fools for not believing in deities. Ok. We walk away and it makes some feel they have achieved some sort of victory. Now we are making a case for our reasons for being atheist and all I see is xtians crying everywhere. STAND AND DEDEND YOUR FAITH AND STOP WIMPING OUT.

I was waiting for someone to quote that nonsense. Parables serve no purpose other than to deceive. If Christ didnt interpret the parables to his disciples they would never have known the message. The language of a deceiver is neither clear nor concise. The secrecy is so that you can claim and interpret the message into multiple translations.

The bible is one BIG parable which is why there are multiple translations for every denomination. The bible allows you to do whatever you want.... incest even

I am not gay but this homophobic and witch hunting nature has led to castigation and death of a lot of innocent ppl. While the west are trying to hide this dark past for prosecuting and campaigning you guys want to pick up the pace. You will not like where this country is being taken.

There are lots of things castigated in the bible... including worshipping other gods. How soon will they be castigated.... what about heretics like Arian?

Just a light mention. I dont want to go into too much debate yet but take these 2 examples:

England is the founding nation for the Church of England (Anglican and Episcopalian) faith. Stone henge is a pagan monument but is and has always been a major tourist attraction. It is close to 6000 years old. Why dont they pull it down.

Rome in Italy is the capital of the Roman Catholic Faith. St Peters Basilica in Rome which is now a church was once a Pantheon (religious building for all the roman gods). Why didnt they pull it down?

The person prays and the disease goes away by itself. The person then says it was god. . .Our bodies will heal some diseases with our immune system if given enough rest, food and time. God still gets the credit. . .

CASE 3:

The person's disease was psychological. By using prayer he shifts how his mind sees the world and thus the mental condition is gone. He praises god.

Prayer works in similar way. No supernatural phenomena though. Just the mind working.

The preacher creates illusion of miracles by hiring actors.

I always tell you about mi experiences. I've seen things happen live,mi father even cuts and inserts stuffs inside me and i've seen it work. Whatever you say you have experienced is meaningless to me. I have heard enough 3rd hand experiences from ppl but seen very little myself. Maybe africans find it hard to embrace atheism for other reasons. The thought of living without some sort of spiritual worship and belief is beyond a lot of africans i guess. All blacks are very spiritual not just africans.

Until you can provide solid evidence I will keep myself busy disproving all the nonsense out there to deceive ppl

I pray. and I will keep praying. Prayer isn't just approaching God with a long wish list. It is
1. Offering worship for Who He is
2. Thanksgiving ( an attitude of gratitude even helps you let go of grudges)
3. Forgiveness and restitution (where you feel at peace with God and man)
4. Supplication (where you place all requests, plans and opinions and ask Him for wisdom to handle the challenges)

Muskeeto and co who feel that prayer is Nigeria's problem, I beg to disagree. We are not even praying enough or maybe we are asking for the wrong things. Many of the true scientists and leaders were also very prayerful. Abe Lincoln said when I don't know where else to go, I fall on my knees. Ben Carson, the talented neuro-surgeon, was headed in the wrong direction and would have died in street fights but prayer changed the direction of his life. Read his autobiography, Gifted Hands.
I have seen wonderful conversions in my family where a chronic smoker, womanizer and irresponsible young man has been converted to a responsible caring father because he prayed for forgiveness asking God to change his life. And the change remained. More than any new year resolution or any parents' discipline

For Nigerians before even making any attempt at anything we start with prayer.... and then get excited and distracted and then forget what we were meant to do in the first place.
