Goodheart4All: I really bless God for the people coming to this thread. To me I believe the giving that pleases God most is that from the heart and not that meant for show off. one can give in the church quietly in terms of tithes and sowing seed and would be blessed accordingly because that person might feel showing everyone he does that is not right. Also one can give to those in need and be so so blessed as well because that person feels the church he pays these gift to might not use it for the right purpose. To me it all goes back to the heart of the giver. My question now is "d[b]o u believe in paying your tithes to the church or rather using it for the benefit of those in absolute need"[/b]?

I believe in helping those in need as opposed to paying tithe in church

5-BOOM AND BUSTS ? NO (isnt that part of a standard economy? What type of an economy wont have a boom and bust?)
6-WEALTH ? YES BUT MOSTLY FOR THOSE WHO WERE POOR AND RIGHTEOUS ON THIS SIDE OF HEAVEN. Isnt wealth a human construct? How can you have wealth in a non boom and bust economy? Also to have wealth there must be some poor who are those and why are they poor?
7-TECHNOLOGY ? YES. BETTER TECHNOLOGY. THE LORD AND THE ANGELS FLY AROUND IN A UFO. Really? A UFO? Is that standard doctrine? I thought they just teleported everywhere? What if the available technology is too advanced to adapt to? Imagine Abraham trying to operate a computer.
8-CARS ? NO. IT POLLUTES THE ENVIRONMENT. What about green cars? Will there be interplanetary travel?
9-SEX ? YES. YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY WOMEN AS YOU WANT BUT YOU WILL KEEP THEM ALL ONCE YOU HAVE HAD SEX WITH THEM. YOU CANT HAVE SEX AND LEAVE LIKE AS DONE HERE. Is this standard doctrine? So can i have 100 women?
10-IF YOU CAN HANDLE POLYGAMY ? YES. IF YOU WANT MONOGAMY ? YES (polygamy?? Really?? Does it work both ways? Can women be with more than 1 man?
11-NO MORE WARS. PEACE FOREVER no more war huh?
12-DISPUTES WILL BE SETTLED BY THE 144,000 MEMBERS OF GOVT. Tell me more about this govt system? What type is it? Monarchy, democracy, constitutional monarchy, communist dictatorship, other form of dictatprship?

How are the 144000 chosen? are they elected by the common man? How long is their duration. What leadership/management/economic skills will they have to lead?

Why would i be chummy with something I dont believe exists?

I have a real question for Xtians. No one has been to heaven yet. (All those personal accounts by obadiahs homies are works of fiction).

Can anyone tell me about heaven. What can be expected? How big is it? What can we do there? Who will we meet there? Where will we stay there? What type of economy? Will there be boom and busts? Will there be wealth? Will there be technology? Ipads, computers, video games, cars, planes? Will we be allowed to have s.ex and se.xual partners? Will it be a monogamistic or polygamistic society? Will there be war? How will disputes be settled? What type of govt are we looking at? It will most likely be a monarchy. Will the angels be above us?

Start asking yourselves these questions and you will realise that you know very little about heaven. If that is the prize for worship isnt the information too scant. One size can never fit all so unless heaven consists of an indepent personal experience some ppl are going to be disappointed.

abraj property: why won't it be satisfying when your pastor can write new bible every month and remove the teachings of prophet isa (jesus) from it. And why won't it be satisfying when you can sing, dance and clap as means of worship and all dis cannot be traced to the way jesus worshiped almighty God. I stand to be correct? ... It is not my opinion it is the opinion of a majority of xtians. I have argued this before on this board. According to them, Hitler has a better chance of making heaven than a good muslim, hindu or atheist.

If you believe otherwise then you are in the minority. We could do with more of your type however. Good works should always be appreciated.

God's ways are not our ways, and his thoughts are not our thoughts. If God were a man, no one would make heaven.

I believe that anyone can make heaven, irrespective of what we believe or not believe or refuse to believe in. I am of the opinion that God searches the heart of men and verifies those who are actually his. I believe that God's judgement would have to do with the sincerity of one's heart.

There are those who are atheist because they know no better. They sincerely seek the truth and would turn away from Atheism if only they get some personal encounter with God. Only God knows how best to reveal himself to men. If God did not reveal himself to Abraham, I am very sure that Abraham wouldn't have become our father in faith.

God is not unjust and I do not believe that he would throw someone into hell when it is not the person's fault. We can claim that people have tried preaching to Atheist and they refuse to listen but the truth is that considering the very bad life style of some of our Christians today, it would be rather difficult for Atheist to listen to us. "I like your Christ but hate your Christians" - Mahatma.

If some of us believe that no "Atheist" would make heaven, then I ask you this question: before the gospel got to Africa and the rest of the world, are we saying that everyone before Christ went to hell? This would be a very wrong notion.

My point is that only God knows his people! Only God will judge mankind! Only God knows how best to reach the heart of every man! Only God knows those who died or would die in his grace. God is not unjust and would never sentence someone who did not have the opportunity of being a christian to hell.

That is not Xtian doctrine. Xtrians believe only believers in Christ and followers of their faith will make it into heaven. Also, no amount of good works can change things.

Be careful and do research on any charity you give to. Make sure they give a good amount of the money to who or what it us intended for. Some charities are like tithe robbers too. Some give less than 10% of donated funds.

Also make sure that they dont represent dodgy interests that can get you into trouble.

Buh you can ignore it. Mi own problem is stated in mi last comment. I was once involved in it and i've seen things happening live. There are not many benefits to not believing. I can list 100 benefits to believing in the supernatural. I can list 1000 hindrances when believing. So one can easily be disadvantaged in life when following religions.

In my opinion being an Atheist is not optional. I know too much to believe in the supernatural. I cant go back. I cant delude myself.

I also prefer my life as an atheist. I am practical and like to make reasonable decisions based on logic. Religion is too burdening in its current forms. It is too controlling.

But "Atheist", I believe more in giving out to people in need and thats why I started the "Goodheart Initiative", nevertheless I still believe that one has to pay offerings/tithes as well as sow seeds in any way. If one is not sure of giving these to one pastor who will actually use it to enrich his own self, then its best to pay your tithes or give offerings to charity workers who are actually making an impact in the lives of the poor and less privilaged.

You have been warned

Give tithes and you are giving out your money to enrich a pastor.

Never give out your last cash unless it is an emergency. Give with a target in mind. Try and start up a charity of sorts that helps those in need. Or you can give to a charity. Be very cautious as to which you give to.
