inurmind: Abi o!They shuould list all their encounters with full descriptions, moneys paid etc. Their might be lots of others scammed that might not know. |
striktlymi: Good morning,You will be surprised at how gullible ppl are. |
Dont girls want to have fun too? Sex is mutual right ![]() |
Are they healing or are they taking peoples money? If they were not allowed to collect tithes the number of pastors would reduce. Follow the money trail and you arrive at the motive. They are enriching themselves financially through deceiving others. |
mazaje: Religion is beneficial to humanity. It provides hope, gives people confidence and offers them the belief that there is a father figure that loves them, cares for them and wants them to be his own. Religion is basically for the poor and those in power. . .The wise and the rich usually have nothing to do with it except it will allow them exploit the poor or improve their standing in the eyes of others. . ."Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful"I agree. In its purest form it can be very useful if applied appropriately. It however is rarely applied appropriately. I have seen first hand the power of religion. |
tobechi20: . When registerin 4 nairaland, are u askd 4 ur religon? There are ways of gathering such information. This sort of stuff can be a good revenue stream for nairaland. |
Mcdonelldouglas: d guy is absolutly right. I ripped of dat so called Jesus picture off my wall after discovering him throwing up a satanic hand symbol of bathomet. Catholics open ur eyz.Really? I think all Xtians and muslims need to open your eyes. Arguing over a non existent deity. |
How do you know these testimonies are genuine? |
So tell us more about this scam. |
I know the church in particular you are referring to.... mountain of fire ministries ![]() |
striktlymi: Good evening,If you work for nairaland wouldnt it be prudent to track such demographics for marketing purposes? I believe you know but would prefer not to release the data. |
advocate666: How much?10% minimum. You know the routine ![]() |
vedaxcool: ^There is no evidence to suggest that women in the West are depressed based on dress sense alone. There are other favtors. It is complicated. In regards to the hijab. I do not believe any woman should be pressured into wearing it. And why would covering up a womans body make them feel better about themselves? Isnt lust part of nature? It might be animalistic but it is part of us. Dont women lust after the half naked men going about their work in the hotter countries? Wouldnt a more accurate law be that both parties wear the hijab? What about gay men? Wont they lust after men too if they dont cover up? |
mazaje: Religions are humanly constructed traditions to help mankind explain the unknown, give him control over others, give him hope and legitimize his fantasies. Those who were in control and wanted to keep control or those who wanted to get control used religion to achieve that. They taught the ignorant there was a god and told them that god chose (the controller/ruler) as their leaders. They claimed they talked with god or god revealed things to them. . .That was how they controlled the ignorant and used them and keep them under tight control. Daniel Dennett has suggested (in his book breaking the spell) that beliefs there are higher forces watching over the fortunes of your tribe, aiding you in battle, helping heal your sick and injured, and attacking your enemies, could be advantageous in the evolutionary fight to survive. Such a belief, although entirely untrue, would bind a tribe together around a common set of customs and rituals, and could be used (or abused?) by charismatic leaders to keep spirits up when times were hard. All religions were created out of the fear of the many and the cleverness of a few. . . . .This type of belief would also help advance the group in warfare etc where fear is a major component. 3 major conflicts that benefitted from religion was the initial spread of Islam, Heraclius byzantine-persian wars (where the ideology of holy wars was first put to an efficient use) and of course the crusades. It is difficult to.argue if any of the groups would have been as successful without.the religious flavour to their wars. |
wiegraf: I imagine our evolving consciousness' need to conceptualize morality was the main purpose. Everything else fell into place after that. Like all pack animals, we usually have an alpha greatly influencing behavior in the pack thereby aiding the groups chances. Cooperation helps, so rules are established and enforced. You need a strong leader to ensure success. When we became conscious we created 'better', or at least more powerful conceptually, leaders as 'gods', the ultimate pack leaders. So strong that they would in fact take care of us even after the dreaded death. The rest then falls into place, like their becoming the gods of gaps and giving people (false) purposes in life, etc. It might have been useful in the early daysThank you. It is evolutionary. |
Saksreal: You are such a Bigotic fool. The guy has a point though. It is difficult to see Islam as anything other than bloody and brutal religion. If this not the way Islam was meant to be then it is time for the TRUE muslimsbto stand and be counted. They need to remove this violent nature from Islam or forever be tainted by it. |
F00028: " Islam religion is an ANTI-Christ and a bunch of lies Religion, because they deny Jesus is the Christ"I was about to say the same thing myself. |
christemmbassey: because the business (gospel) of the Lord is urgentLol. Urgent as in...... ![]() |
cold: I know right. One just has to continually bring this issue to the fore. Because there are certain things i see or read and can't simply believe it was said by a sane humanI believe that some of those ppl arguing are somewhat mentally unbalanced. I think there is a rise in the number of schizos and mentally unbalanced ppl im Nigeria. All due to the churches that preach generational curses, prophets with visions etc. |
Akanniade: Me i think all this cravings for private jets is borne out of fear of plane crash. They av seen pastors are not immune to plane crashes and have to take 'palliative'If they are doing Gods work then surely God will protect them. |
@frosbel Smh I thought you had learned by now on the eye debates. This is the fourth one so far on the same eye. Next will be the phallic shape of a banana. |
plaetton: Ofcourse. God always needs more people. What would god become if the number of people worshipping him keep falling, until it hits zero.I made a prediction of 200 years |
@omo_to_odun I disagree with you about Christ. I also disagree with his doctrine. Christ was noble. A good man according to his works. He challenged the establishment and fought for the poor, weak and meek. A good trait that I love and admire. His doctrine on forgiveness is tantamount to slavery. Anyone who turns the other cheek is asking to be enslaved. I believe in precise punishment on earth equivalent to the crime or sin commited. This will be a deterrent. No need to seek revenge but do not allow yourself to be put in that situation again. @op. The reason atheists post about Xtianity is because most atheists were once Xtian. Also, the rising number of Xtians becoming atheists not a sign that Xtianity is dying but a sign that Xtians are smarter and think more hence asking the REAL questions about religion and God. |
Revolva: Goodluck ebele jonathan aka fisherman aka slowpoke is the number one jare his wife patience is number two -His other wife Diezani is number three. ![]() |
tobechi20: Yes, extintion prooves evolution wrongPlease explain. |
I have debated blue and black with Xtians over this. Why is it that good works and being good count for nothing? It is all about believing in Christ. I just dont buy it. Side by side with other silly stuff like turn the other cheek and instant forgiveness once you request it. |
Ubenedictus: http://www.bib-arch/e-features/christmas.aspIs the link down? I cant seem to access it. |
Logicboy03: lol.....that means that if atheism ever has a foothold in Naija. The solution would be to peacefully campaign against tithe. I would like to have debates "tithes ; good for the man or just plain stealing"You call that a debate? It is a fact that tithe=stealing |
Logicboy03: Christianity has always been about populationI am sure when Christ mentioned fishers of men he never meant tithe robbing. If they banned tithes in Nigeria Xtianity would die out overnight. |
k2039: Evolution requires things to increase in order and complexity resulting in the extinction of the less complex ones which means that entopy reduces which is a violation of the second law of thermodynamic, evolution is a hoax. ![]() The second law of thermodynamics is applicable only in thermodynamics. Science is not the bible where you pick and choose and mix things up. ![]() |
Is extinction proof of evolution? Please fellow ppl, discuss? |
I agree. But they still play a major role in Islamic societies. Why would I be bound by Islamic law (sharia) as a muslim if others are not? I think the silence of these leaders poses a somewhat negative view of Islam. |
