The police in Indianapolis, in the United States have launched a search for the murderer of Oluwadayomisi Epenusi, a Nigerian pastor. Mr. Epenusi, 66, was shot to death at an apartment complex near 10th Street and I-465 on the city’s west side during the weekend. Kristina Teague, one of the late pastor’s neighbors disclosed that “I heard about 15 gunshots. It was nuts,” said Teague. Teague later called 911, but before police arrived, the victim had run back to his apartment and a roommate drove him to Eskenazi Hospital where he died without explaining to his roommate what happened. “The roommate said when he was on the way he asked him what happened and why he got shot, but the man couldn’t say nothing because he was still in pain,” said Moshood Kafaru. “He was just a nice person who would go to work and come home and go to church. He didn’t talk to nobody. He never bothered nobody,” Kafaru added. Kafaru believes the pastor died from a robbery attack, when the pastor refused to give them his purse. “He was holding a purse. He refused to let it go. They thought he had money in the purse, but he didn’t want to let it go,” said Kafaru. A group of Nigerians in the same apartment complex and those that knew the deceased, said he had been working hard to move his family to the United States. “They just got a visa. That why he was working, so his family can come over here,” said Kafaru. “He was just an innocent man and it just upsets me that he’s gone just like that”. http://www.eyereport.com.ng/nigerian-pastor-killed-in-usa/

A High court in London has awarded former governor of Delta State, James Ibori, a damage of £1( about N400) over unlawful detention by British Home Secretary Amber Rudd. Justice Cheema-Grubb agreed that Ibori was unlawfully held for one day, 18 hours and 10 minutes between December 20 and 21 last year. She also said the Home Secretary “failed to have regard to her limits to detain” as attempts were made to claw back millions from the fraudster. Ibori who had claimed £4,000 in damages was awarded a nominal £1 of the sum he had claimed. The judge ruled: “There is no compensatory loss to Mr Ibori and I fix nominal damages at £1.” Ibori was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment after being found guilty of 10 serious charges in April 2012 at Southwark Crown Court. Having spent some time in custody in the United Arab Emirates, he was due to be conditionally released from prison on December 20 2016. But the Home Office disclosed that there was no intention to deport Ibori to Nigeria until he handed over at least £57m “proceeds of crime”. An email stated: “we cannot deport Mr Ibori until the confiscation matter has been resolved”. High Court Mrs Justice May on December 2, 2016, the day after his due release date, ordered Ibori to be freed on conditions, describing the attempts to detain as “quite extraordinary”. The judge noted: “You don’t hold someone just because it is convenient to do so and without plans to deport them.” The judge rejected a Home Office application that Ibori be electronically tagged and subject to strict curfew conditions, after the judge accepted arguments that the Home Secretary was attempting to abuse her immigration and deportation powers. Ibori left the UK on February 3 2017, but launched his claim for damages for false imprisonment and breach of his rights under the 1998 Human Rights Act. Ibori was detained in the context of awaiting the making of an assets confiscation order, and likely subsequent efforts to recoup a sum at least £57m. The judge ruled: “In this case, the secretary of state has been wrong-footed by the failure of the prosecution to achieve determination of its confiscation proceedings against Mr Ibori prior to his release from prison on licence”. http://www.eyereport.com.ng/london-court-awarded-ibori-1-n400-damage/

The minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has kicked against uncalled spending of funds several times during the time of Goodluck Jonathan as president and now when he is a former president, he still make references to Jonathan stupid spending. Looking back at the maritime university issue, he wanted to stop the project on the excuse that the money used to procure land for the university establishment amounting to N13 billion is enough to develop lagos. A man who says N13 billion can go a long way has been exposed by his own wardrobe. He was seen wearing a multimillion naira LouisVuitton and Gucci jackets. At a particular point in time, one wonders if we are being ruled by truthful personalities. They speak more to deceive the masses while they are like lions devouring preys Where can the value of the both jackets develop this time? http://www.eyereport.com.ng/amaechi-caught-wearing-multimillion-naira-jackets/

The policy has recorded exceptional success since its introduction by the President. It has led to the recovery of looted funds. The Ikoyi $43m is a good example. The President requires the cooperation of Nigerians in the process of wiping out corruption from Nigeria. The Question now is, Can you blow the whistle against your loved ones? Reward awaits you! - See more at: http://www.eyereport.com.ng/can-you-blow-the-whistle-against-your-loved-ones/#sthash.hSr0QGtx.dpuf

OZAOEKPE:you are so funny dear. Atiku do what? Atiku cannot bench buhari. just accept it and forget that campaign. |
Tosinayoko:politics is mutuality! why won't he when that makes south west no 1 among all the regions |
Bola Ahmed Tinubu / Nyesom Wike. Atiku being a northerner cannot wrestle power from APC in the North because Buhari has won majority of the north with the war against corruption and the general likeness they have for him. Tinubu will get the votes of South west and Muslims in north central. Nyesom Wike on the other hand will get the votes of south south and South east being political allies and also the votes of Christians in north central and core North by promising their security against boko haram and to end militancy to boast oil revenue. A northern ticket is a waste! this will make Buhari to be left with North West and North east. Oke Uje. |
This is for only travellers like me. People who are expose to all regions of the country and not those that uses TV or Pictures to know about places. No setiments No tribalism. We already know that South is more developed and Urbanized than North. Now this is the question. Which is more urbanize and developing among this four 1. NORTH. 2. SOUTHWEST 3.SOUTHEAST 4.SOUTHSOUTH. give your answers with proof of the states in those regions Notes: Don't use only a place in the region to give your answers. Use the whole state in the region to compare the rest. |
