InvestmentRe: PITCH: Lagos Is Bad, Come To Ondo State - Gov. Akeredolu To Investors by atorioke(op): 5:17pm On Jul 18, 2017
atorioke:
The governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on Monday in Akure, exposed the negatives about Lagos, Nigeria’s business capital and urged investors to abandon it and flee to his Ondo State.

In a rare sales pitch by a governor, Akeredolu wondered why investors are concentrating their investments in “traffic-ridden and human congested” Lagos State, and asked them to leave to come to his state, which “is blessed with abundant resources”.

Akeredolu made this known while welcoming the delegation of Federal Government Industrialization and Economic Diversification team led by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Usani to his office.

The Governor said Ondo state would be ready to partner with investors so that the State can become the hub of economic activities in Nigeria.

PITCH by Akeredolu

“According to the Nigerian Police Force and Department of Security Services (DSS), Ondo state is the 3rd most secured state in the country, therefore, I want to urge investors in the country to come and explore untapped resources which are abundant here.

“We have them in their numbers here, let them come. The rain in here is not much while the harmattan is not harsh. Ondo has the second highest reserve of bitumen in the world. Ondo sustained the Western region before independence and during the First Republic because of the Cocoa from Ondo state.

“The Federal government should also build a sea port in Ondo state. The Atlantic Ocean that passes through Ondo State is the deepest in West Africa. Also, from Araromi in Ilaje is about 45 minutes drive to Ibeju/Lekki in Lagos. So, investors should prefer Ondo state that is free without any traffic to Lagos that is over-congested and has no land,” Akeredolu said.

The governor further said that the state is well placed to connect other states across the country for economic and business activities because those coming from the eastern part, the north and other Niger/Delta States pass through the state while going to Lagos for business transactions.

Speaking on the purpose of the visit, Usani said the Federal government set up the initiative to focus mainly on Agriculture and Manufacturing sectors in order to explore the opportunities in states in the country.

He said moribund industries would be revived and that agriculture would be made attractive not only to farmers but the youths.

“We are here in view of the Presidential initiative that focuses on the manufacturing and agricultural sectors. The Federal Government wants to work in conjunction with states so that various moribund industries could be revived towards job creation and economic development.

The Minister said the agricultural sector will be prioritised in the sense that incentives will be provided to interest Nigerians with special consideration for the youths. He promised that something visible will be done for Ondo state before the end of the current financial year.`

He commended Akeredolu for his response to the scheme, stating that of all 10 states selected for the first phase, Ondo state was the first state to be visited because the state is the most forthcoming.

Partners in the Initiative include the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC), Ministry of Mines and Steels Development, Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority and Nigerian Export-Import Bank. Others are Bank of Industry, Ministry of Niger Delta affairs and the New Economic Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD).

Others on the delegation of the Federal were the representative of Minister of Mines and Steels Development, Mrs Onyeku Okeke, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Economic Matters, Mrs Fola Oyeyinka, National Coordinator, Senior Investment Corporation, Dora Akugbulo.

PoliticsAPC Smells Like Rotting Chinese Fish And A Brothel - Femi Fani-kayode by atorioke(op): 6:35am On Jul 17, 2017
……. by Femi Fani-Kayode

The truth is that it is the APC that are the stinking corpses and the rotting cadavers and not the PDP. They smell like rotting Chinese fish and a Calcutta brothel all rolled into one.

They became blinded by their own delusions yet the bitter truth is that they are nothing more than a rabble-rousing gathering of incompatible bedmates, wandering spirits and vagrant souls.

“The Supreme court did not raise a dead PDP, they only brought out the rotten corpse of a dead PDP for all to smell the bad odour”- Alhaji Lai Muhammed, Minister of Information, Daily Post, 15th July 2017.

I am trying my best to remain magnamonious in victory and to remain restrained but this diaper-wearing, foul-breathed, big-nosed and lying APC Minister of Information has once again brought out the worst in me.

Not only has he told yet another dirty and collosal lie but his deeply offensive and disrespectful characterisation and depiction of our great party the PDP is as inappropiate as it is provocative.

The truth is that it is the APC that are the stinking corpses and the rotting cadavers and not the PDP. They smell like rotting Chinese fish and a Calcutta brothel all rolled into one.

They stink to high heavens and they have fouled up the Nigerian space with their compelling and overwhelming stench and their fecal aroma.

They should bury their heads in shame. They sought to bury the PDP but by the grace and resurrrection power of the Living God we have risen again.

They commited blasphemy and heresy by bestowing divinity and infallibility upon their ailing leader and by deifying themselves.

They came to believe that they were all-seeing, all-knowing and all-powerful. They thought that they were omnicient and omnipresent and they equated their power with that of the God of Heaven.

They sought to turn us into a nation of quislings and slaves. They attempted to cage and impose their will on the Judiciary, the Legislature, the fourth estate of the realm (the media), the civil institutions, the opposition parties and groups and indeed all of their perceived enemies and detractors by the most violent, crude and aggressive means and through the usage of naked tyranny.

They attempted to crush, with an iron fist and steely will, all those who refused to remain silent and continued to opppose them with a lethal display and cocktail of abusive power, impunity, arrogance, brutality and propaganda.

If there were ever such a thing as a civilian dictatorship in Nigeria this was it.

They became blinded by their own delusions yet the bitter truth is that they are nothing more than a rabble-rousing gathering of incompatible bedmates, wandering spirits and vagrant souls.

They are a misguided association of pernicious liars, confirmed Luciferians, practising satanists, accursed corpsocrats, blood-sucking ritualists, unrepentant beasts, godless coprophiliacs, gruesome undertakers and unconscioble necromancers who have a deep-seated and unbreakable covenant with the spirit of death.

They are not a political party but a satanic lodge of devil-worshippers and a cult of death. They bring nothing but death, decay and destruction.

They thrive on death, they feast on death, they wait on death and they worship death. Everything they touch results in death. It is no wonder that they have cut out the heart of our nation and almost killed Nigeria.

It is no surprise that their leader and our President has vanished into thin air for the last 70 days.

It is no wonder that his office is evidently in the grave and that, for the better part of the last two years, he has been attending a prolonged and turbulent meeting in hell, struggling with the angel of death.

What a tragedy these misfits have proved to be and what a terrible affliction and spiritual plague they have brought upon our country.

Yet it does not stop there but rather it gets worse as they become emboldened by their madness and insatiable lust for even more power.

I say this because the APC spokesman, one Bolaji Abdullahi who I gather used to be a PDP Minister until he decamped to the APC, added his own brand of disjointed verbiage to the discourse when he advised the PDP “not to push their luck too far” by thinking that they will come back to power in 2019.

One question os relevant here: is this faceless, conflicted and strange little man God? Can he tell us what will or will not happen tomorrow with any precision or certainty? Is he led and guided by the Holy Spirit or by his own carnal delusions and lust for everlasting power.

What a cheeky, self-serving, self-righteous and intellectually dishonest young man this is. What a nerve he has.

Let him be warned that the game has just started and now that the PDP has reclaimed its soul again we shall provide the kind of relentless and unspairing opposition that will keep them on their toes and that will give him and his other party members grey hairs and sleepless nights.

He mocks those of us that are facing politically-motivated criminal charges and malicious prosecution and he seeks to indict us for, according to him, “failing Nigerians for 17 years”.

He forgets that his mentor, the Senate President, has just been through a similar ordeal and barely escaped it by the skin of his teeth.

He forgets that when they are kicked out of power in 2019 both he and virtually the entire APC Federal Government will most certainly be called to account, prosecuted and sent to jail for the monstrous atrocities that they have committed in the last two years.

And if his contention is that the PDP failed Nigerians he, together with virtually all the key stars and players in the APC Federal Government, APC-controlled Senate and amongst the APC state Governors, were part of that failure because virtially all of them used the PDP platform to serve our country in one capacity or other before decamping.

They not only abandoned the PDP ship after benefitting from it and using it to come to national prominence but they also sought to scuttle and destroy it by demonising its key players and actors and using the coercive organs of the state to criminalise, humiliate and attempt to destroy each and everyone of them.

Honestly this little Bolaji Abdullahi should keep his mouth shut and bow his head in shame and he should meditate on the fact that the day of reckoning is surely coming. It is just a question of time.

After 2019 he and his party will pay a heavy price for their evil ways and sheer insolence and the Nigerian people will get to know the bitter truth about how they rigged the 2015 presidential election and who was really behind the mysterious and gruesome death of the INEC Commissioner for Kano and his entire family.

After 2019 the Nigerian people will also get to know the true story about the Chibok girls and those who were really behind their abduction.

They will also get to know who is behind Boko Haram, who sponsored it and what its real purpose is.

They will also get to know the names, nature and identities of the evil cabal that has highjacked the Federal Goveenment and that runs the affairs of our nation.

They will also get to know who gave the order to butcher over 1000 Shiite Muslims and thousands of IPOB youths and bury them in mass graves.

They will also get to know who the forces are behind the Fulani herdsmen and why they unleashed them on the good people of the Middle Belt and the south.

They will also get to know why the Federal Government sat back silently and refused to arrest even one Fulani herdsman after they murdered 808 innocent Christians in the sanctity of their homes last christmas eve and last Christmas day.

They will also get to know why the APC Federal Govenment was hell-bent on implementing a hideous religious and ethnic agenda which has divided Nigerians and pushed us to the very brink of conflict, civil war and disintegration.

They will also get to know what the secret to the gross incompetence of the APC is and where they got the demonic inspiration for their well-documented ineptitude and their chronic failures.

They will also get to know why the so-called “war against corruption” of is subjective, vindictive, malicious and selective.

They will also tell us why they have turned our nation into the joke of the century, the laughing stock of the African continent and a virtual pariah on the international stage in the space of just two years.

They will also tell us why they pamper, protect and encourage merciless and ruthless terrorists and hardened criminals in their ranks.

They will also tell us why they are obsessed with silencing and intimidating members of the opposition and indeed all their perceived enemies.

They will also tell us why the wife of their leader and our President saw fit to call Nigerians animals and why she likened our people to “hyenas and jackals”.

And finally they will also tell us why they would not allow their ailing party leader and President to resign even though he vanished into thin air for much of the two years that he was in power and they will tell us about what really incapacitated him and what finally knocked him out.

The truth is that the APC has many questions to answer and in spite of whatever weaknesses the PDP may have had whilst in government they never treated Nigerians with the brutality, impunity and disdain that the APC has done over the last two years.

And most importantly they never brought us to the brink of conflict, civil war and disintegration.

Bolaji Abdullahi and the party he speaks for should prepare themselves for a very rough ride in the next few months because the Nigerian people will call them to account and the new PDP will give them hell. Of that they can be rest assured and all the grandstanding and veiled threats in the world cannot stop it.

Permit me to conclude this contribution with the following.

As if the scurrilous commentry of the lying Minister of information and the weak and tepid purring of the APC spokesman were not bad enough, a celebrated and notorious APC mole also felt that he had to jump into the fray and kick the PDP in the teeth as well.

This ugly, uncontrollable and bloodthirsty beast, whose name is not worthy of mention by my lips and who called the PDP all manner of names after we won the case at the Supreme Court, is the biggest fraud and thief that has ever held public office in Nigeria.

When he was in that office he did not build one school or construct one road but instead he put all the money that was made available to him into a fixed deposit account and collected a monthly commission.

When he left office he carried all that money with him, left his successor with nothing and left his people in stark poverty. His only legacy and the only thing that he left for them was Boko Haram. Sadly his evil did not stop there. It goes further.

Apart from being a political prostitute who can be used to harm and destroy his own people and his own party by any government in power,

he is also a merciless murderer and a callous psychopath.

He has snuffed out more precious souls and butchered more innocent lives than ANY other politician in the history of Nigeria. That is the beast that is now talking. Truly Nigeria has suffered.

Truly the APC and all their friends, moles, associates and agents need to be swept from power and buried alive in 2019. It is duty for us to do this and to pull our nation back from the brink.

This is solemn promise that we have made and this is an obligation that, by the grace of the Living God, we shall honor and keep.

Anything less would be utterly catastrophic and would plunge our nation into the gates and fires of hell.

PoliticsLeave General T.Y. Dajuma Alone - Femi Fani-kayode Warns Northern Muslims by atorioke(op): 10:13am On Jul 16, 2017
The former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode Kayode, said that the Northern Muslims should not attack Gen. T.Y. Dajuma and Elder Solomon Asemota SAN for standing against plans to Islamise Nigeria.

The former minister, who made this known in a statement posted on his Facebook page, said the duo were fighting for what is just and true as against what Buhari’s government termed false.

“I commend the Elder Solomon Asemota SAN and Gen. T.Y. Danjuma-led Christian Elders Forum for warning the Buhari government to stop attempting to islamise Nigeria and I wholeheartedly endorse their position.

“It is those that kill Christians and practice stealth jihad that will set this country on fire and not Asemota, T.Y. Danjuma and the Christian elders.

“Their concerns are legitimate, their observations are pertinent and their counsel is wise. They have spoken the minds of over 90 million Nigerian Christians.

“Theirs are the voices of restraint and reason and it is in the interest of the Federal Government to listen to them carefully, to consider their concerns and to take their admonitions very seriously if they want peace and unity in our country.

“Anything short of that will be unacceptable, will lead to greater division and will have devastating and long-term consequences for the future of our country,” he said.

FamilyMy Wife Destroys My Properties Whenever She Is Angry, Man Tells Court by atorioke(op): 7:10pm On Jul 14, 2017
A battery charger, Adedayo Ajiboye, on Friday filed a petition for the dissolution of his 18-year-old marriage to Taiye Ajiboye.

The man filed the petition at a Customary Court sitting in Ayedun-Ekiti in Ikole Local Government area of Ekiti State.

The man said he could no longer cope with the woman’s destructive altitude as she is fond of destroying his properties whenever there was misunderstanding between them. saying he could no longer cope with the woman’s destructive attitude.

“My wife has an attitude of raining curses on our children whenever they misbehaved and if I tried to caution her, she would lock up my shirt, go berserk by scattering my clothes on the roads for vehicles to march on them.

“In 2015, I was sick and I went to sleep in the car outside the house and when I woke up, I discovered that the light in the house were still switched-on, so I scolded the children for not switching it off.

“My wife picked quarrel over that to the extent that she broke my windscreen. I later sold the car at a cheaper price because I could not withstand seeing the car in its damaged state.

“Sometimes in February 2017, my wife asked me to pay up the N37, 000 I borrowed from her.

“I told her I will only pay her money after I have forgiven her because the damage she did to my car was more than what I owed her; she picked quarrel again.

“She destroyed the window in my room and my generator, this time I felt my life was in danger and I can no longer tolerate her,” the husband said.

The petitioner, who admitted that he had not paid the wife’s dowry, said he was also seeking divorce on the ground that his wife had become adulterous.

He sought custody of the children, saying he did not want them to take after their mother’s bad attitude.

When the claims for divorce were read to the defendant by the court, she said if the husband wanted divorce, so be it and that she destroyed those properties due to some reasons.

The President of the three-man panel, Mrs Yemisi Ojo, adjourned the case until July 17 for continuation of hearing.

AgricultureRe: Lagos State To Plant 500,000 Trees Across 78 Locations - Akinwunmi Ambode by atorioke(op): 6:55pm On Jul 14, 2017
atorioke:
The governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Friday approved immediate planting of 500,000 trees in 78 locations to protect the environment and promote healthy living.

The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Idiat Adebule, gave the directive in Lagos at the 2017 Tree Planting Campaign organised by the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency.

The governor acknowledging the campaign “Think Green, Plant Trees, Live Green’’ said 6.8 million trees had been planted since the state government started the campaign in 2007.

“To mark this year’s Tree Planting Day, we are adding another 500,000 trees, which will be planted across the state.

“We must remember that trees are essential to human existence, as they provide food, shelter, remedy for all ill health and source of energy,’’ he said.

Ambode said that trees helped to control storm, noise pollution, water runoffs and desert encroachment.

“If we must continue to live in good health, planting of trees will be a strategy that must be embraced by all.

“This is because planting of trees is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to preserve mother earth and combat the ravaging effect of climate change.

“I urge residents and organisations to support this campaign so that, together, we can mitigate the effects of climate change and make our cities and communities healthier,’’ he said.

Ambode said that 570 newly trained youths had been empowered to jump-start the greening programme at the 57 council areas of the state.

He urged private developers to desist from massive deforestation for housing.

Earlier, Dr Samuel Adejare, the state Commissioner for the Environment, said that Lagos lost its bio-diversity to developmental activities and urbanisation.

Adejare said that wetland forest reserves had depreciated due to growing population and city expansion, while felling of trees and destruction of the ecosystem thrived for socioeconomic reasons.

“The continued exploitation and destruction of our natural resources have left us with dire consequences such as global warming, ocean and sea level rise and extinction of exotic flora and fauna.

“This is why the state government is calling on all to embrace tree planting, especially during landmark events such as birthdays, burial and naming, ” he said

AgricultureLagos State To Plant 500,000 Trees Across 78 Locations - Akinwunmi Ambode by atorioke(op): 6:55pm On Jul 14, 2017

Foreign AffairsRe: Donald Trump Sued For Blocking Twitter Uses by atorioke(op): 11:16am On Jul 13, 2017
atorioke:
The president of U.S, Donald Trump, has been sued by a free-speech group, which claims his practice of blocking Twitter users violates the First Amendment.

Trump, whose twitter handle is @realDonaldTrump account in office, has been sued by the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University in New York, along with seven individual Twitter users, reports said.

The suit claimed that Trump’s blocking of users who were critical of him was a violation of the U.S. Constituion.

“President Trump’s Twitter account, @realDonaldTrump, has become an important source of news and information about the government, and an important public forum for speech by, to, and about the President.

“In an effort to suppress dissent in this forum, Defendants have excluded – ‘blocked’ – Twitter users who have criticized the President or his policies. This practice is unconstitutional, and this suit seeks to end it,” the lawsuit read.

The lawsuit, which was filed in the federal court in the Southern District of New York, claimed it was a violation to suppress dissent.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer noted in June that Trump’s tweets are official statements and the White House often sends out official statements everytime the President tweets.

Trump, along with Spicer and Dan Scavino, the White House Director of Social mLMedia, are named as defendants in the lawsuit.

The Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University is a New York City-based 501(c)(III) organisation , meaning a nonprofit organisation.

The organization “works to defend and strengthen the freedoms of speech and the press in the digital age through strategic litigation, research, and public education,” according to the complaint.

The seven individual plaintiffs in the suit are writer and political consultant Rebecca Buckwalter, Prof. Philip Cohen, political organiser Holly Figueroa, resident in general surgery Eugene Gu, police officer Brandon Neely, former professional cyclist Joseph Papp and comic/writer Nicholas Pappas.

The federal suit is case number 1:17-cv-05205.

The White House is yet to make any comment on the suit.

RomanceRe: Ex-spanish King (king Casanova) Sleeps With 2,154 Women by atorioke(op): 10:40am On Jul 13, 2017
atorioke:
A new book coming out in September claimed the former King of Spain, Juan Carlos, is a sex addict and has bedded thousands of women even after marrying Princess Sophia of Greece and Denmark.

The book says the retired European monarch had an astonishing 2,154 sexual partners between 1976 and 1994 after he allegedly became estranged from his wife, to whom he is still married.

The 79-year-old abdicated the throne in 2014, making way for his son Felipe VI, who began a tour of Great Britain on Wednesday.

The new book, Juan Carlos I: The King of 5,000 Lovers was written by Amadeo Martínez Ingles. It will be published in September, according to a summary published in The Times.

It claims he was already a prolific lovemaker prior to his 1962 union with the King of Greece’s daughter, to whom he is still married.

He reportedly slept with 332 partners while at military academy as a young man, “which is good for any actor specialising in porn films: four per week,” the book notes.

Juan Carlos became King in 1975, 13 years into his marriage, but was allegedly found by his Queen in a compromising position with actress Sara Montiel a year later. Montiel denies there was any affair.

Since then, according to the book, he has put more than 2,000 notches on his royal bedpost.

His alleged lovers include Barbara Rey, a former Miss World contestant and Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, a German philanthropist.

Rey is alleged to have received $3m (£2.8m, $3.5m) from the Spanish secret service to deny the affair. She says she has not received such a payment.

In 2015, the Spanish Supreme Court dismissed the paternity claim of the 47-year-old daughter of Belgian governess Liliane Sartiau.

Juan Carlos’ reputation was damaged when he took an elephant hunting trip in Botswana in April 2012 at the height of Spain’s financial crisis.

He handed over the throne to his son two years later, saying that the new generation must be at the forefront… younger people with new energies.”

The Spanish Royal Household did not respond to The Times when asked for comment.

PoliticsRe: House Of Representatives Fails To Swear-in Hembe's Replacement by atorioke(op): 9:00am On Jul 12, 2017
atorioke:
The House of Representatives on Tuesday again failed to swear-in the member-elect for Konshisha/Vandeikya Federal Constituency of Benue state, Hon. Dorothy Mato.

Mato is to replace erstwhile chairman of the House Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Herma Hembe.

The Supreme Court had on June 25 sacked Hembe and Sen Sani Abubakar Danladi and ordered that Hon. Mato and Alhaji Shuaibu Isa Lau be sworn in immediately.

It also ordered the sacked legislators to refund all monies collected as salaries and allowances in the last two years.

While Senator Shuaibu Isa Lau had since been sworn in by senate president, Hon. Mato’s swearing is still hanging in the House.

Last Thursday, the House Spokesman, Rep. Abdulrazaq Namdas, explained that the member-elect could not be sworn in because she needed to complete certain documentation.

But a constituent of the lawmaker confirmed that Mato had done all the necessary documentation.

“Mato, was kept in the office of the clerk to the house for hours waiting to be ushered into the chamber for swearing in, but to no avail.’’

Her constituents and supporters, who came to the gallery to witness her inauguration, left disappointed.

At plenary, Speaker Yakubu Dogara was absent in the chambers and the house was presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Mr Lasun Yussuff.
